I'm fairly certain we do have root, I doubt samsung changed anything up security wise from the international sgs2

Soon, soon my friend.
I'd selfishly love to see which developers plan to get this phone.
Can wait till friday
I might be getting the Att version of the sgs2. Could the dev between the two devices be shared? They are nearly identical spec wise, with the exception of the radios. I'm curious to see what gets ported at launch from the SGS2
I doubt it. Cdma and gsm development vary a lot on some things.

Cept the Tmob version is going to have a different SoC.
Source
I don't think we have to worry about root.
As far as I know, we just flash a recovery (ClockworkMod) via ODIN and then start flashing kernels and ROMs.

Just because we could flash a port of CWM on the E4GT doesnt mean it'll automatically have root.... We'll still have to find an exploit that will give us root access..... Then ROM development and so on would be able to start.... You can flash a custom ROM without having root but it would be pretty pointless.....

No, there is no exploit regarding this method of rooting. The only "exploit" that would need to be found was if the bootloader was locked, and, judging by the history of EVERY samsung phone, it won't be. so yes, it really is that simple.
flash CWM.
flash su.zip through CWM
sit down and eat your sammiches

I miss DSP Manager from CM7 on my Incredible, is there an apk that will work or something that is just a good/better?
Checked out Volume + and wasn't that impressed with some other EQ apps in three market.
Not sure if this matters but i have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks!

Is using DSP manager better than volume+?
In my personal experience yes. Its more stable.
How does DSP increase the volume? Equalizer?
Grabbed a flashable one optimized for ICS and it's way better than volume +. Been a fan of DSP since the early darts of Nexus one

Ya I love that game. All you have to do is get off ICS. I love that game and GTAIII.But for some reason a LOT of games don't work on ICS.Thats the main reason I went back to GB. I have a lot of kids and they always wanna play them. Right now I'm on MIJJA 3.0 and it rocks. Since he updated the last el29 version it has all ICS animations, boot animation, CWM, plays all the gaming apps and no worries about bricking. Plus, all modems work with all ROMS and kernels. I'm on FD16 modem now. I'm currently trying to get some help making an AOSP lock screen mod for it. Ive already posted a crt mod for it. I really don't see b what the big deal is with ICS. Its really not all that better. We'll see what happens after source comes out. Oh and I got Sonic 2 running on my phone right.now.. He he he

I presume you're talking about triangle away by chain fire. I would say if you are on a ICS kernel and ROM that there is a chance since it messes with the boot loader but on ICS, give it a shot. I used it on FD02 and had no problems. Removed the triangle PERMANENTLY(i really couldn't tell you how) and reset my binary count to 0. i gotta warn you though do. NOT use it on .GB YOU WILL BRICK IF ON GB.

Jigs don't work after eg30 tho. You would have to flash the eg30 boot loader. Calculin posted one somewhere. I can post it if you can't find it with xda/google search bar above.

Well, it doesn't just *work*, you have to change some of the per app settings\individual app settings... something along those lines, I'm pretty sure for street fighter it was qualcomm. But for alot of games you have to set it to nvidia.
You can set it to use one of the plugins for everything in general, but i'd advise using the per app settings instead.
There's lots of other settings you can change but it's just something you can tinker with to get performance and graphics how you like them. It's a very useful app.
Along with mobile Odin, chainfire has created 2 of the most useful android apps around
Make a new folder under Android ... Should look like this .. Android/obb/the game data.. Should work. As it works for me

I've been hearing that complaint from people with Tegra 2 devices as well, seems like it's pretty hard to get working on non-Tegra 3 devices right now. There will be a version for other phones released at some point though.
Hello everyone!
I'm with JB installed on my GN, but every time I try to install the 3D chainfire (PRO version 3.3), it goes into infinite boot, and I have to flash to new rom.
Anyone with this same problem? Already have a solution?
Thank you.

No, it was not fully compatible with ICS. There were features that didn't work, e.g., night mode, etc. Chainfire mentioned he was working on it months ago, but I guess it was never finished.
If he hasn't fully fixed it for ICS, I doubt he'll have it fixed for JB.

who do you think you are? if anything chain fire is garbage, why were you installing it!? lmao. you Dev? you help the community with all those thanks you receive? thought so. so why would you disrespect a wonderful developer on a developers site!?? what were you using it for that you didn't find it useful? you knew you would get flamed for that disrespectful comment right?
anyway, it worked great on ics for what I used it for which was running tegra games on a galaxy s 2 and putting 16xMsaa on all my 3d games with smooth as hell game play still. it was awesome if you didn't have a high resolution screen. sadly, like all have reported , jb doesn't work. here's to him updating it because I totally support him and would even pay again.
