[Q]Chainfire 3D in JB. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello everyone!
I'm with JB installed on my GN, but every time I try to install the 3D chainfire (PRO version 3.3), it goes into infinite boot, and I have to flash to new rom.
Anyone with this same problem? Already have a solution?
Thank you.

same here. anyone?

Needs to be updated.... It's more than likely not compatible with jelly bean yet.

It wasn't even fully compatible with ICS, let alone JB...

The chainfire spell doesnt seem to effect jelly beans.
Dang, i wish i would have seen this yesterday. Had to reflash. So far, I have not found too much to make me very impressed with jelly bean.

It was not fully compatible with ICS? I never had a problem with it, it will be its compatibility is discontinuous from JB?

No, it was not fully compatible with ICS. There were features that didn't work, e.g., night mode, etc. Chainfire mentioned he was working on it months ago, but I guess it was never finished.
If he hasn't fully fixed it for ICS, I doubt he'll have it fixed for JB.

Boot looped for me on jellybean when trying to install the driver, to be honest chainfire3D was a useless app to begin with I never found it useful not even on ICS , anything chainfire is usually garbage.

How was it useless?? It allowed you to run Tegra 2 games and games for Qualcomm processors on your GNex. How is that useless? You must have been doing something wrong.

Chainfires app is awesome. I used it on my incredible to play games that required nvidia tegra. That app is the s**t. Also if you're running jb then your running his supersu. Show some respect.

Chainfire 3D only useful you actually play, but there are several users that it accurately, in my case, but I really believe he will not be ported to the JB, so sad :crying:

So there is no way to play FIFA 2012 on nexus S??

who do you think you are? if anything chain fire is garbage, why were you installing it!? lmao. you Dev? you help the community with all those thanks you receive? thought so. so why would you disrespect a wonderful developer on a developers site!?? what were you using it for that you didn't find it useful? you knew you would get flamed for that disrespectful comment right?
anyway, it worked great on ics for what I used it for which was running tegra games on a galaxy s 2 and putting 16xMsaa on all my 3d games with smooth as hell game play still. it was awesome if you didn't have a high resolution screen. sadly, like all have reported , jb doesn't work. here's to him updating it because I totally support him and would even pay again.

Used to use Chainfire 3d on my SG2 ... decided on friday afternoon to give it a try on my nexus what can go wrong it downloaded from the google play store and said the device is compatible... boot loop.
So back to Jelly bean stock no biggie to fix... but should really be marked incompatible in the google play store. Hopefully Chainfire can get round to updating in his spare time.

Ya I love that game. All you have to do is get off ICS. I love that game and GTAIII.But for some reason a LOT of games don't work on ICS.Thats the main reason I went back to GB. I have a lot of kids and they always wanna play them. Right now I'm on MIJJA 3.0 and it rocks. Since he updated the last el29 version it has all ICS animations, boot animation, CWM, plays all the gaming apps and no worries about bricking. Plus, all modems work with all ROMS and kernels. I'm on FD16 modem now. I'm currently trying to get some help making an AOSP lock screen mod for it. Ive already posted a crt mod for it. I really don't see b what the big deal is with ICS. Its really not all that better. We'll see what happens after source comes out. Oh and I got Sonic 2 running on my phone right.now.. He he he

I presume you're talking about triangle away by chain fire. I would say if you are on a ICS kernel and ROM that there is a chance since it messes with the boot loader but on ICS, give it a shot. I used it on FD02 and had no problems. Removed the triangle PERMANENTLY(i really couldn't tell you how) and reset my binary count to 0. i gotta warn you though do. NOT use it on .GB YOU WILL BRICK IF ON GB.

Well, it doesn't just *work*, you have to change some of the per app settings\individual app settings... something along those lines, I'm pretty sure for street fighter it was qualcomm. But for alot of games you have to set it to nvidia.
You can set it to use one of the plugins for everything in general, but i'd advise using the per app settings instead.
There's lots of other settings you can change but it's just something you can tinker with to get performance and graphics how you like them. It's a very useful app.
Along with mobile Odin, chainfire has created 2 of the most useful android apps around
Make a new folder under Android ... Should look like this .. Android/obb/the game data.. Should work. As it works for me

I've been hearing that complaint from people with Tegra 2 devices as well, seems like it's pretty hard to get working on non-Tegra 3 devices right now. There will be a version for other phones released at some point though.

I think that's your problem. I know there are many games that don't work on AOSP because the drivers aren't fully functional or optimized.
Just a quick observation here.
This is a forum made up of people that enjoy their epic 4g touch. When you start a thread called "This phone really does suck!!!!" You might not get a lot of help. Now put your phone down and go outside and play!

The huge problem with nothing ever being good enough is you'll never be happy. Take your phone for what it is instead playing the "find some flaws" game with yourself...there is no perfect phone (if there was, there would only be one phone), if you get a new phone you'll find something about it to complain about just like your current phone...
take your phone for what it is and enjoy it/be happy with it.

Jelly bean

So is anyone excited for this update like i am i know its not a major one but what we do have is great
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT IT
i think jelly bean is exciting, a massive speedup in terms of the UI, new notifications, new stuff in the play store. awesome speech stuff and new google search... and thats just what i can remember
smh. One whiff (a small one at that) and noses go wide open.

That will never happen. The only way JB is hitting our phone is if we do it.
I'm really thinking of going back to a Google phone. Less of the features I really want, but at least the new toys hit it first and fast.
Oh and yea Galaxy S is getting it!! But Sammy will never push it to our phones, and you all know I'm right.
i think for the most part the new notification is by far what im after camera upgrade to
Offline voice actions will be a huge help to the utility and speed of voice commands. Other than that, meh. Of course I'm excited though, and will flash anything
I'm definitely waiting for the next Nexus for my next phone purchase. It's hard to not get caught up in the GS3 hype, but its such a minor upgrade to our phones' specs......the GS3 will be many, many months before it sees 4.1.
Hope Samsung port it to the S3 fast. So we can use it. I like it really much!
So guys ... keep it rockin' ;-)

I'm guessing because most people wouldn't be toting a tablet around to take pictures of other things besides themselves. With my original galaxy tab, I was surprised how well the back camera did for video but it was too easy to cover the mic with your hand when in landscape mode. Also, the official portfolio case for it covered the rear camera and led.

A little OT but all the laptops that google is using during the google IO are Macs.... LOL
So I didn't have an android phone during the froyo to gingerbread update, which from my understanding is more like this than 2.3 to 4.0. I know we have had lots of trouble with kernel source and all sorts of other issues. Was this due to the fact that it was such a big difference, and so maybe this time it would be easier for our great devs to get this going for us once code drops? Obviously we can't know for sure until then and I'm not trying to offend anyone or seem greedy, I am just curious if this is how android works, or if not.
Thanks.
That is because google banned windows a long time ago from their offices.
So, can anybody think of any good reasons why we couldn't get the new voice search and Google Now on our phones now? I personally don't understand why we would need a new operating system for that. But, I really know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes with programming and development, so I could be totally wrong. What are your thoughts?

I'm assuming its more than that since the guide said to load the QUALCOMM Plugin. And I rooted my nexus 7 and had no issues, definitely stay away from Chainfire if you have Jellybean or Quad Core
This happened to me a bunch. I kept trying to get around it and get chainfire to work in some way, but it won't at all.
Don't worry, you're not borked. A factory image flash after installing recovery works, if you were stock
It's a much better situation if you are running a custom rom (non-stock Nexus 7):
Simply install recovery like you did when you rooted (fastboot flash recovery image) and simply flash zip from sd card, the image you flashed to begin with. Reboot and it boots back to the same state you had it when you left. I have only seen this issue with Nexus 7.... but this method works and it's just another reason you should always do a backup.
Stay "bricked." You'll have less problems that way.
|Trolling With A Smile|
Damn, why don't I read this thread earlier? My Nexus 7 bricked too for the pursuit of Street Fighter IV HD on my N7.
What exactly compells people to use an app made for single cores on an N7? We may never know.

problem with playing gameloft games

Hi,
Today I decided to try Gameloft games on my Galaxy Nexus, I downloaded two games("brothers in arms 2" an "Gangstar West Coast Hustle" ) and installed them easily and downloaded the data files with WiFi. After it finished downloading I went to the game to play, but after a while this error came up: "unfortunately, BIA2(gangstar) has stopped [ok]" and it jump out of the game! Try them for times and it occurred every time. After trying it for many times I found that when I use multi touch the error comes up!
please help, its really annoying. I don't know what to do!
I did nothing to my phone(it's not rooted or any thing), I just updated it to jelly bean.
Sorry for bad English and thanks in advance.
Gameloft are awful regarding updates, chances are the games are not optimized for Jelly bean and probably won't be for quite sometime...

Gameloft are awful regarding updates, chances are the games are not optimized for Jelly bean and probably won't be for quite sometime...

So the problem is with jelly bean?It means that I'm not alone with this problem?!

While playing gameloft games run fine, I get random "order and choas has stopped" messages that appear when I haven't even loaded the game. Seems fishy and I'd honestly like my 7$ back but I'm sure they won't do that.

Use... stock...
You're custom ROMs and kernels change too damn much. Hate to say it but, Google and Samsung know better about what the hardware should be set at, and how to write good software (Google for the software, not Samsung) than at home, part time, I'm gonna dabble in this type developers. No offense intended, but Samsung and Google do this for a living, and have been doing it a long time, and have many very, very, very knowledgeable, schooled, and trained people.
I run a stock ROM built by someone here, but completely based off of Google's source. I can play Gameloft games all day long with no issues, as well as do anything and everything else without ever having an issue.
This phone doesn't need its CPU over clocked, or its GPU, or under volt, or any of that. You think your "pushing performance" when all you're really doing is sacrificing stability.
There's a reason Google doesn't go bleeding edge with any Nexus devices. They know their **** and know it well.

Well.. just a thought. Start the game with WiFi off. Then press home and enable WiFi if it works.
I don't have an issue with them, although I normally play emulators.

Gameloft are famous for releasing games with major glitches an problems an refusing to update or fix their games while reaping money off people who are unaware to begin with an stuck with games that either don't work at all for their device or are plagued with problems an lag issues even though Gameloft advertises it to be compatable.

Really? I have like 5 or 6 Gameloft games and they all work without a single issue, and on 4.1.1 JRO03L. Sounds like the issue isn't the apps, or it would not be possible for me to experience no issues.
