You could always download the factory image from Google and reflash

C'mon, you had to know it was a gamble to install it in the first place. Chainfire3D hasn't been updated since October of last year. The chances of it being compatible with JB were pretty small.

you didnt brick it. you just boned it hardcore.
a brick means its useless. its OS is just screwed. wipe it and dont make the same mistake lol

There was another thread asking about this app where I reported it doesn't work and was confirmed that it screw the recovery too.

No it was a soft brick cus I did a wipe that did not work

Chainfire 3d was made to give single and dual core phones a little gpu boost. The Nexus 7 has a quad + 1 core tegra with a 12 core gpu and you actually went and flashed Chainfire on it? Do you see where I'm going with this? Talk about overkill fail. Good news is, your phone ain't bricked. Bad news is... well... you're you:silly: Next time you wanna juice up your **** make shure it ain't juiced out. lol.

Just wait the 30 days for the exclusivity for Xperia to be over then the game will be available to everyone...

Unfortunately I didn't read this thread and mines stuck at the Google screen too. I bought the game for my Xperia and decided to Titanium Backup it over to my N7 but it didn't work so tried Chainfire 3D which killed the device itself lol.

I don't get while people want chain fire either? I thought it was used to help those without tegra hardware to play tegra games. I'm holding off on rooting until the recovery gets situated.

I'm assuming its more than that since the guide said to load the QUALCOMM Plugin. And I rooted my nexus 7 and had no issues, definitely stay away from Chainfire if you have Jellybean or Quad Core

This happened to me a bunch. I kept trying to get around it and get chainfire to work in some way, but it won't at all.
Don't worry, you're not borked. A factory image flash after installing recovery works, if you were stock
It's a much better situation if you are running a custom rom (non-stock Nexus 7):
Simply install recovery like you did when you rooted (fastboot flash recovery image) and simply flash zip from sd card, the image you flashed to begin with. Reboot and it boots back to the same state you had it when you left. I have only seen this issue with Nexus 7.... but this method works and it's just another reason you should always do a backup.

Stay "bricked." You'll have less problems that way.
|Trolling With A Smile|

Damn, why don't I read this thread earlier? My Nexus 7 bricked too for the pursuit of Street Fighter IV HD on my N7.

What exactly compells people to use an app made for single cores on an N7? We may never know.

Ya I love that game. All you have to do is get off ICS. I love that game and GTAIII.But for some reason a LOT of games don't work on ICS.Thats the main reason I went back to GB. I have a lot of kids and they always wanna play them. Right now I'm on MIJJA 3.0 and it rocks. Since he updated the last el29 version it has all ICS animations, boot animation, CWM, plays all the gaming apps and no worries about bricking. Plus, all modems work with all ROMS and kernels. I'm on FD16 modem now. I'm currently trying to get some help making an AOSP lock screen mod for it. Ive already posted a crt mod for it. I really don't see b what the big deal is with ICS. Its really not all that better. We'll see what happens after source comes out. Oh and I got Sonic 2 running on my phone right.now.. He he he

I presume you're talking about triangle away by chain fire. I would say if you are on a ICS kernel and ROM that there is a chance since it messes with the boot loader but on ICS, give it a shot. I used it on FD02 and had no problems. Removed the triangle PERMANENTLY(i really couldn't tell you how) and reset my binary count to 0. i gotta warn you though do. NOT use it on .GB YOU WILL BRICK IF ON GB.

Well, it doesn't just *work*, you have to change some of the per app settings\individual app settings... something along those lines, I'm pretty sure for street fighter it was qualcomm. But for alot of games you have to set it to nvidia.
You can set it to use one of the plugins for everything in general, but i'd advise using the per app settings instead.
There's lots of other settings you can change but it's just something you can tinker with to get performance and graphics how you like them. It's a very useful app.
Along with mobile Odin, chainfire has created 2 of the most useful android apps around
Make a new folder under Android ... Should look like this .. Android/obb/the game data.. Should work. As it works for me

I think that's your problem. I know there are many games that don't work on AOSP because the drivers aren't fully functional or optimized.
Just a quick observation here.
This is a forum made up of people that enjoy their epic 4g touch. When you start a thread called "This phone really does suck!!!!" You might not get a lot of help. Now put your phone down and go outside and play!

The huge problem with nothing ever being good enough is you'll never be happy. Take your phone for what it is instead playing the "find some flaws" game with yourself...there is no perfect phone (if there was, there would only be one phone), if you get a new phone you'll find something about it to complain about just like your current phone...
take your phone for what it is and enjoy it/be happy with it.

Hello everyone!

No, it was not fully compatible with ICS. There were features that didn't work, e.g., night mode, etc. Chainfire mentioned he was working on it months ago, but I guess it was never finished.
If he hasn't fully fixed it for ICS, I doubt he'll have it fixed for JB.

Splash top 2 brick?

Guys -
I installed the Splashtop 2 on my Nexus 7 running AOKP and Trinity Krenel, and it bricked my device twice. Just running the software and suddenly it crashes, then no buttons work. Then the screen starts to flash and it shuts down. I was unable to get into recovery. I need to push a new recovery to get it running back again. This has happen twice today. Anyone else having this issue?
Its bricked?
So you put it in the trash or sent it back to ASUS?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is not related to splashtop.
I had an issue using Splashtop 2 today that freaked me out a little. Going from Sharp to Smooth froze my N7 and when it booted back up, which took longer than usual, the speaker made a faint but distinct "hissing" noise then a louder "tap"
Everything is working again but that's never happened before. Not sure I liked Splashtop 2 enough to bother with it after that.

No.. I know how to get out of a jam. The device would not boot afterward the system froze, then rebooting I got stuck at Google screen. Then it wouldn't get into recovery from bootloader I had to flash a new recovery and flash back up. Sounds like it was bricked at the time to me.

I would see why you would say this....however this happened twice when using the new splashtop. My set up or system has not changed in days. Only thing that changed was me installing splashtop. Once I stopped using it and went back to the old one. No issues. Someone else n the market review described the same thing to a t.

Installed HD2 this morning and same problem, freeze when changing from sharp to smooth. Hard reset twice, to get it to boot now the speaker sounds like its blown, was streaming some video from the PC. Running EOS + stock kernel.
Something isn't right with it that's for sure, avoid for now is my advice.

I had this same thing happen to me. Everything froze up then my Nexus rebooted itself. Other than that the app runs pretty damn good for me. No rooting or roms on mine.

Try acessing recovery through boot loader on a healthy N7 and not plugged in, you will find that you can't access recovery. There's quite a few "Q" threads saying that I OC to 1600 and overvolted by 50MHz across the board, and my nexus fried? Why is this??

I've got the same problem with Splashtop and Nexus 7. Original ROM, no root. After switching smooth<>shart Nexus just reboots. Also there seems to be nothing interesting in logcat.

I seems to be fixed after todays update, but it's still strage that single app could crash the whole device.

I tried it too! I ended up having to flash it using Odin-PC...that sucked. I thought I bricked but after almost a 1/2 hour it finally came back to life.
Lesson learned - don't use CF3D cuz it fux up big time.

Not that I've seen, most games that have tegra3 dont look that different on note 2 anyway, ive got an N7 so check out the difference between the new Marvel game and theirs not a lot in it really. Not enough to make me worried about it anyway.
