Performance question - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I decided to check out a CPU monitor today...
I'm noticing that I'm getting major frame rate drops when my cores are all at < 30% utilization? Mainly noticing it when scrolling lists, notification bar toggle animation, Spotify, etc.
Are your Notes this sensitive?
My Quadrant score is usually around 7000. Running rooted/slightly debloated stock. My CPU usage generally looks okay. It's almost as if I have power saving on, but I don't.

Ugh. Flashed Perseus and OCed. Still feels worse than a 2 year old Windows Phone. Maybe I need to just flash an entire custom ROM.

Awake time.....

I am running stock ICS, with the cpu sleeper app running and my "awake" time is crazy high. I use to have awesome battery life pre ICS, oh and I forgot to mention that I have the nexus extended battery what is running and how can I kill it....I use to get around 19 to 25+ hours before zero now I don't. I have tried to celebrate the battery by letting it run to zero, wiping battery stats and having it charge up to 100% powered off and it still suck. What am I doing wrong? Also I enclosed a pic of my current battery stats for all to see

I suggest getting GSam battery monitor and seeing what is killing your battery. If you really want improvement root that bad boy and gets your self a custom ROM!
Here is my battery life, typical day. AOKP 7/15 with latest CPU sleeper.

Have you looked through the battery stats list of what been running to try and track it down that way? I've also hers people say if your using google voice and restored it from a backup that it will cause wake lock. Uninstall and reinstall from the market if that's the case.

I am using gsam battery and it says that 26.5% (which is the highest) is used by the "android system" everything else is below 5%....and I am rooted as well......my task manager also says the same thing

Get better battery stats from the market

im having the same problem with no luck. everything i try has failed. heres an example:
It gets worse sometimes. Google Service seems to be the reason.

Ok I acquired setcpu from the market and I was going through the forum and about of people say that they use the "badass" profile with "noop" what it's that and what are the settings since they (badass) are not included

Also try out CPU Sleeper: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745516
This is also hosted in google play.
Description of the badass governor:
Badass removes all of this "fast peaking" to the max frequency. On a typical system the cpu won't go above 918Mhz and therefore stay cool and will use less power. To trigger a frequency increase, the system must run a bit @ 918Mhz with high load, then the frequency is bumped to 1188Mhz. If that is still not enough the governor gives you full throttle. (this transition should not take longer than 2-5 seconds, depending on the load your system is experiencing)
Badass will also take the gpu load into consideration. If the gpu is moderately busy it will bypass the above check and clock the cpu with 1188Mhz. If the gpu is crushed under load, badass will lift the restrictions to the cpu.

Audio "clipping/popping" using Ktoonsez kernel FIX

This might not seem like a big deal for most, but I myself listen to music with my phone for at least a couple hours a day. After reading a post by pchemerys on how to save battery life (which everyone should read, a lot of good information there) I decided to play around with the voltages trying to get as much battery life as I could. As a result, I noticed a ton of random clicks and pops in my MP3's.
After further investigating, and going back to default values using Ktweaker (stock voltages), the problem was still there.
What fixed it? If your minimal cpu value is at 96Mhz, that is when the problem occurs. I adjusted that incrementally until the music was clean again, and my minimal cpu value is now 192Mhz.
Thats all you have to do. My min/max values are 192/1512
Hope this helps my fellow xda members!
Pchemerys post on battery life:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1860998
yep, 96 was too low for me for a few things as well.
192 still doesn't fit it for me, but I was undervolting. It's a matter of voltage + cpu.
Yeah my phone is very fussy when it comes to any tweaking. I can't go below 384 and I can barely under volt with out any without the audio issues. Kinda sucks

Pretty much same here, seems like there's a wide variety in chip robustness on these. I can under volt everything about 50mV from stock, but my min can be no lower than 384, even with stock voltages. Any lower and I constantly get reboots and other issues with pretty much any governor
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
That's weird. I don't get reboots below 384 just the annoying sounds in music. Its frustrating to say the least

Why is andriod system so high?

Ive notice that this really kills the battery by a lot b why is this just in idle when I have my screen of I see is still awake and I have everything off I mean everything??

This is happening to me as well plus other things thinking of returning it

go to s voice and turn off wake up command, and someone here on xda found a bug that kept it awake and he has the fix for it i applied it to my phone but i wont be able to test it until tomorrow morning
I use all options that drain battery:
Svoice unlock
Motions
Face screen on
Hights screen quality, ect
I use 1.8ghz overclock
My battery last all day
Wanna know how
Cpu controle
Its easy, auto loads all your settings, just use the profiles
Set screen off and in call to a much lower cpu clock speed. Like 900mhz

48hrs later.......

And I am pretty disappointed in the battery life of this thing. I used a htc one for a few months and I actually think it did better than this beast. I got to say though, the display on this thing kills everything I have ever used as far as the enjoyment from the massive size. But when I was looking into this thing I kept hearing 2 days easy with this guy. I am at 23% at 250pm when I took it off at 630am. Is there something I have set wrong or is this typical. My htc would be at 25-30% when I went to bed at night usually. I do have automatic brightness checked just an fyi because that is the first thing people will prob ask.

I can't comment on the original battery because I ordered a 7960mah battery off ebay the same day I bought my Note 2. I take off at 6:30 am also but my battery is at 73% and it's 3:28 pm. I knew I was going to abuse my battery so I replaced it before it even had a chance to let me down lol. Also, I'm running Paranoid Android 3.96 (Android 4.3) which is one of the custom roms that gets good battery life.
Wish I could be of more assistance?? Well here you go.
1) Disable daydream in your display settings
2) Flash a custom kernel for stock roms...I would suggest Saber or Perseus
3) Download STweaks after installing a custom kernel and perhaps underclock your processor to 1.2 Ghz, you shouldn't see a big difference in performance but should get a HUGE savings on battery life.
3.5) You can also allow your device to go into a deep sleep at 200Mhz while you're not using it. It's kind of like having your phone completely off but will instantly wake when you get an email, txt, etc. And afterwards after a user set time, it will sleep again until either you wake it or get another message.
4) Last but not least, if you really want to tweak your stock rom into tip top shape and aren't comfortable flashing alot of mods...download Pimp My Rom from the Play Store and let this app do the work for you.
Hopefully some of this will help you out.
**If you one day get familiar with flashing custom roms, this will be a huge savings on battery. I would recommend 4.2 roms or 4.3 roms because they aren't bloated with alot of the Sprint/Samsung junk that is running in the background, ultimately killing your battery without you ever knowing it.**
Ok found allshare cast and toggled that off. Didnt see a daydream anywhere in the display settings

This is correct. Lol. Daydream is a 4.2.2 feature, you wouldn't see that in 4.1.2, my bad.
Make sure there is nothing trying to sync if you dont have a good signal. Go to settings 》data and restrict background data. Keep facebook and other things from syncing when you really don't need them to sync.

Still not as good as some of the others but much better after turning off allshare. I flashed the crap out of roms with all my other rooted devices but never much fooled with kernals. Is it really beneficial for battery life to flash a different kernal?
Sent from my Kraken using xda app-developers app
I can't really say if the kernel affects the battery life that much, unless your underclocking which am overoclocked and still get great battery life but as of the smoothness saber kernel is great for me. I cant remember the last time I restarted my phone because of slowing down or just somthing wierd everything is smooth and fast all the time. Plus voodoo sound is very nice. Alot of users recomend the perseus kernel also but I personally had some random issues with it so saber is my daily driver kernel

Bs if you use your phone heavy then battery will drain. If you use it with sync and all that other bs on it will drain I get about 22 hours out of my phone a day. I'm light to heavy use to

I am 100% Stock/Deodexed and Rooted. I can get ~ 3 days with little to no usage as side from phone calls. On moderate to heavy usage " 5-6 hours screen time with Netflix or N64oid/SNESX" I can swing around 20 hours with 5-10% battery left.

You fail to show your screen on time. You probably have like 3hrs worth and at 55% for all we know. Which is what I actually get from this bad boy before I hit the 50% mark. On a good day I can get 6.5hrs of screen on time and I have lots of stuff syncing in the background.. 3 email accounts, Google services, Weather, Facebook, Samsung account, Skype, Tango, Twitter, ubersync, Voxer, what's app, YouMail and fring.
By the way did you get a brand new note or did you buy a used one? Battery could be faulty or another thing could be you are in a bad coverage area which drains batt.

What's better to use? SetCPU or Stweaks?

Basically I'm trying to lengthen battery life by keeping the cpu in a weak state while the screen is off.
But it almost feels like since I installed SetCPU by battery life decreased?
The only profile I have active is for the cpu to slow down to 500 when screen is off. But Stweaks came with my rom I have installed.
What shall I do?
