Awake time..... - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I am running stock ICS, with the cpu sleeper app running and my "awake" time is crazy high. I use to have awesome battery life pre ICS, oh and I forgot to mention that I have the nexus extended battery what is running and how can I kill it....I use to get around 19 to 25+ hours before zero now I don't. I have tried to celebrate the battery by letting it run to zero, wiping battery stats and having it charge up to 100% powered off and it still suck. What am I doing wrong? Also I enclosed a pic of my current battery stats for all to see

I suggest getting GSam battery monitor and seeing what is killing your battery. If you really want improvement root that bad boy and gets your self a custom ROM!
Here is my battery life, typical day. AOKP 7/15 with latest CPU sleeper.

Have you looked through the battery stats list of what been running to try and track it down that way? I've also hers people say if your using google voice and restored it from a backup that it will cause wake lock. Uninstall and reinstall from the market if that's the case.

I am using gsam battery and it says that 26.5% (which is the highest) is used by the "android system" everything else is below 5%....and I am rooted as well......my task manager also says the same thing

im having the same problem with no luck. everything i try has failed. heres an example:
It gets worse sometimes. Google Service seems to be the reason.

Ok I acquired setcpu from the market and I was going through the forum and about of people say that they use the "badass" profile with "noop" what it's that and what are the settings since they (badass) are not included

Also try out CPU Sleeper: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745516
This is also hosted in google play.
Description of the badass governor:
Badass removes all of this "fast peaking" to the max frequency. On a typical system the cpu won't go above 918Mhz and therefore stay cool and will use less power. To trigger a frequency increase, the system must run a bit @ 918Mhz with high load, then the frequency is bumped to 1188Mhz. If that is still not enough the governor gives you full throttle. (this transition should not take longer than 2-5 seconds, depending on the load your system is experiencing)
Badass will also take the gpu load into consideration. If the gpu is moderately busy it will bypass the above check and clock the cpu with 1188Mhz. If the gpu is crushed under load, badass will lift the restrictions to the cpu.

[Q] setcpu and CM7 built in cpu clocker?

My questions is why do we need to use setcpu when we can use built in cpu tuner on CM7, profiles?? Last time I check whenever your not using your phone ei. screen off or left it by the table your cpu will automatically tune it to the lowest right??
EDIT: maybe we need profiles for battery percentage

wondering the same thing
I have always been a user of SetCPU and profiles, but two days ago I finally decided to give to built-in CPU tuner on CM7 a try, and it seems a little better on battery life and I do not notice any diffrence in the performance. I think I will stick to using the built in CPU tuner for now and see how it goes.
I've been using the built in cpu on CM7 for 2hours it drained me 19% of the battery light usage but I'm gonna try until it drains to 0%, my battery normally last for 13-16 hours on setcpu 248-1017 profile and I'm using the same on built it.

actually, where is the option for the built in CPU Tuner, is there even one? or does it run automatically?

[q] big battery problem please help!!!!

No matter which ROM i choose wether its 2.3 based or 4.0 based, Calks or Phantom. Even CM9, Team Dirt. I always get crap battery life. ANDROID OS and ANDROID SYSTEM hog the battery!!! Why is this. The only thing that has not changed will i have been flashing all these roms is the Modem. I am currrently running FF18 Modem. Could this be the culprit? Please help guys!
The android os usage in ICS is normal. What do you consider bad battery life?
So many things affect battery life. Low signal will wipe out a battery in no time, synching multiple accounts (email, facebook is notoriously bad...) and software you may have installed. How is the battery drain when the phone is sleeping? Since there really isn't much we can do about battery while you're actually using the phone, the next step is to improve on sleep efficiency and this will help the battery life overall.
Try installing BetterBatteryStats. There is a thread here on XDA you can search for and download and install this app. The best way to use it is to let the phone sleep on battery without using it for a minimum of 2-3 hours, overnight is best. Then view the kernel and partial wakelocks to see if something isn't allowing the phone to sleep properly.
battery battery life?
Couldn't you also use multiple profiles in an OC app to undervolt and underclock the phone when it sleeps? (screen off profile set to 800MHz and screen on 1200MHz) Just a suggestion, hope this helps.
I have to charge my phone twice a day because I am on it all the time. My ave battery life 11hr 47min. Running Badass Battery Monitor.
Turn off auto sync for your Google account on your phone and manually sync it from time to time. Before I did this android was at the top of the list in the battery. Now screen time dominates everything else in usage.

Yes I did this too, it helps a lot
Yes, synching too often is a killer.
Don't forget about the phone radio too: wifi/bluetooth/gps/data/4G all can have a negative impact if left running.
Someone recently posted that at his workplace, he had zero signal and he could barely make it through the day. He discovered turning data off entirely in that scenario saved battery in a huge way.

[Q] AOKP w/ Ktoonsez kernel CPU stuck at maximum frequency

ive been running ICS since i got my phone, the battery life was horrible until i fixed the power profile, but even after that my phone's battery was not that good. i decided to flash CM10, then i switched to AOKP, both of them are awesome, but i noticed that the battery wasnt that good either, i got the ktonnsez kernel. i tried other governors, they all stay at maximum (1512MHz) after about 5 minutes of a reboot. i tried basically everything, reflash every thing, wiped everything possible. I need help plz, i wanna enjoy my S3 without worrying about the battery dying.
its all normal when i start my phone, but after 5 minutes it just stays at maximum CPU...idk why plz help im on galaxy s3 ATT i747M...i searched everywhere but still didnt find the answer
If you flashed kt747 you need to use the ktweaker app that comes with the kernel. When you find this app you need to check the two boxes into general settings

Have you solved this yet?
Try a different governor. Personally I use on demand and noop for the scheduler.
Make sure you don't have any other overclocking programs which may be conflicting. I used to use SetCPU but with the toonz kernel I get Ktweaker. So I got rid of SetCPU.
Funny yours is locking at maximum. Mine used to lock at 96Mhz and run like crap. The above method worked for me. Don't forget to make sure your running the most updated kernel, wipe cache/dalvik/fix permissions.

Tyvm, i did what u told me and its working for now, i was using ktweaker the whole time, but i like to check my current speed in ROM control, idk why maybe cuz the numbers are bigger? ;P im still not sure if its going to work for a long time, i did a reflash yesterday, i charged my phone at 100 percent last night, and it was sitting on low frequency, when i woke up, i was suprised to see a 6% drop of the battery, leaving me 94% left. but the speed was at 1512. and cell standby was using most of the battery.

TY, ive tried switching governors before and it didnt work. But when i tried this morning, it worked... really strange.
Idk if it will last long, my phone likes to jump around from normal to maximum without me even touching the phone
Use ktweaker instead of the rom settings. Go to the performance section in settings and disable set on boot. Then, go to ktweaker and set as "apply settings immediately after boot". Once you're done, set to whatever you want it to be.

Please help with battery drain.

I'm new to the galaxy Nexus. I rooted it recently and put maddoggin's ROM onto it(Sprint). Also I have fh05 radios if this helps. I have tried a few different kernels. I noticed only when the screen is on is when it start its decline. I just took it off the charger at 100% at 1:30 now at 1:50 its at 85%. I really just want the jop40d stock kernel to give that a try but I can't find it. Someone please try to shine some light on this.

you gave us no screen shots or anything to even begin looking at the issue you may or may not be having.
What extra info do you think is needed? I gave the ROM radio and build I'm using.

screen shots of your battery stats are pretty much required.
Where would the most useful stats come from? I have better battery stats installed. Would that be decent enough?

40 minutes screen time and on LTE. Isn't that normal for that model?
I wish I knew what normal was
40 min of screen on time, lte enabled and still 66% left of battery. I think that's normal. Search the forum and u will find few threads about this.

I get around 1.5-2 hours of screen on time, LTE on all the time, no wifi and such...what kernel are you using with which i/o scheduler and governor are you running? Also, do a screen shot of running processes accessed through settings>apps>running processes.

So lte is the culprit? I came from wimax (GSII)

I/O cfq
Governor: interactive (can't change it anyways. Won't let me)
And the kernel is on a screen shot the previous page. Also my processor doesn't pass 700mhz although its set for 1200mhz weird.

Holy crap! You have a lot of things running! Usually I only have three or four processes running! I can tell you for sure that the maps app burns a lot of battery in the background, and you need to shut that down and turn off location services! Also, you have the same media bug that I do that I haven't figured out how to stop...sorry I forgot which rom you're on, but on 4.1.2, I had a really go fix by running a certain gapps package, but on 4.2, I'm stuck and that's why I'm online lol...
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
Just flash Pure AOSP ROM.. I too faced this issue when earlier I flashed stock ROM over bigxie's ROM.ASOP ROMs are very fast and stock type.
I did most of everything I was told and its still draining. I'm even using WiFi now. I guess I will try a aosp ROM and I still would like the stock kernel
do anyone else have any other idea of what the problem is? i know this isnt normal. no one would have this phone is the batter only lasted 4-5 hrs like mine

What's better to use? SetCPU or Stweaks?

Basically I'm trying to lengthen battery life by keeping the cpu in a weak state while the screen is off.
But it almost feels like since I installed SetCPU by battery life decreased?
The only profile I have active is for the cpu to slow down to 500 when screen is off. But Stweaks came with my rom I have installed.
What shall I do?
