I think there is a problem between the kernel and the hardware support.
Try flash back to the stock ROM or other ROM
If the problem persists, there may be a problem with his usb controller circuit

when i connect to my laptop i only charge i do not get a notice saying a device has been reconized. i do have USB Debugging turned on but still not reconized. i have re installed my ROM,flashed different kernels and ROMs, thinking it was a ROM issue but still nothing. I went into download mode and the only good news ive got is that while plugged in to my laptop i was reconized via Odin. if you have any thoughts of what might be the issue or something i can read up on please let me know because im all out of ideas other than going stock then rooting again.

I'm not sure, I had the same issue with Tasks ROM a little while ago, but it was fixed by just clearing cache and dalvik cache and Re-flashing the ROM. Until I got it fixed (I.E. stopped being lazy) I just used Airdroid to transfer files back and forth.

Maybe attempt to download the driver from Sammy's site and reinstall

same here, every time i plug the connector it powers on, even if you shut it off it restarts and you have to leave it in sleep mode to in order to recharge it. This must be a bug of the rom isnt it?

I'm on CM11 (19JAN nightly) with TWRP recovery.
No problem here.
Just now updated to CM11 20JAN nightly. Tried 2 different chargers. Issue persists.

i had twrp installed for about 2 months with stock rock and i had never experienced this kind of problem, it appeared when i installed cm11, so it certainly is an issue of cyanogen mod.

Let me get this straight:
Your gpad is off -> you plug it in for charging -> it stays off? Really?
Mine will always boot. I don't like it, but I thought that's the way it should be (I'm on CM 11 and TWRP 2.6.3.2).

Yes me too. Maybe because it's 2.6.3.2 version ?
In my case, i am charging it during running the tablet home screen, with battery monitor widget. Once it is full, I turn off the charger, it rebooted automatically. But newer nightly (in these few days) seems fine.
The problem is still not resolved.

I have been hunting around on the web and here for the past 3 days to see if anyone has had the same problem but I have only found similar cases and I have tried them and they don't work.
So my problem is that when I connect my Samsung galaxy nexus (gsm) to the computer it doesn't show up it charges however doesn't show up so I went to device manager to see if its in there and there is nothing at all no other devices or android devices.
So I have looked about and found that the android sdk manager might help so I download that and add a new legacy on device manager and use the usb driver that you can get with the sdk however after installing it always says that "This device cannot start (code 10)".
Now i have tried my phone on and off with usb debug mode and between mtp and ptp and I still get nothing so i reset to factory default and try all the same things again and I still get nothing.
Can anyone help me out please ?

Im not sure what OMAP is but nope nothing shows up on anything no matter what I do
omap ( TI chipset - 4460) > detect your phone just for few second..
you did flash anything before??

I rooted when I first got it which was when it came out but other than that its just been running stock software its not currently rooted

factory reset means u already delete your data partition. just plain system remain + external data.
should be ok. already try to reboot??

yeah its been rebooted several times
i dont know why usb cant detect any. you dont have data partition that mean you're free to flash any roms here.. i suggest u install recovery first. twrp or cwm. then download using wugfresh nexus tool kit. u can found all in xda

try connect from fastboot.. setup adb & fastboot in pc. try 'modified boot.img'

if u just factory reset, i think pc dont have a problem to recognize your phone.
u already reboot for several times.
that means still got boot.img.
except - if u wipe everything (system & data partition).. that surely pc not detect anything. try anything.
one more.. try pull out battery, then plug-in to usb. * if not detected, put back wt usb still plug in.

i recently flashed the carbon Rom,then turned on the fast charge(haven't seen any difference with that)
i turned it off but still it is not recognized by the pc i switched to a stock based rom but still the problem persists.(i tried different usb cables also tried it on desktop as well as on laptop..anyone with same problem ?
please help !

Try cleaning it.
My Phone doesn't charged while turn off and no charging animation and can't detect it in my pc but when i power on my phone it charge but still cant detect my phone. I use Blisspop rom when I got into this problem at first It was ok then after 2 days I got into this problem but I think its not rom related I return to my previous back up rom DN4 with A.C mod and still the problem persist..any advise or maybe the problem is the charging port of my n7100.

4.4.2 bootloader.. I don't know what happened it was working before and suddenly stop working.it was charging when my phone was on..but on offline mode it doesn't..neither the MTP doesn't work when powered on.

Stranger, this can happen from old bootloader but if was working before with same rom I don't know. You tried to clean the USB port?
