I have been hunting around on the web and here for the past 3 days to see if anyone has had the same problem but I have only found similar cases and I have tried them and they don't work.
So my problem is that when I connect my Samsung galaxy nexus (gsm) to the computer it doesn't show up it charges however doesn't show up so I went to device manager to see if its in there and there is nothing at all no other devices or android devices.
So I have looked about and found that the android sdk manager might help so I download that and add a new legacy on device manager and use the usb driver that you can get with the sdk however after installing it always says that "This device cannot start (code 10)".
Now i have tried my phone on and off with usb debug mode and between mtp and ptp and I still get nothing so i reset to factory default and try all the same things again and I still get nothing.
Can anyone help me out please ?

I have the same problem
if u just factory reset, i think pc dont have a problem to recognize your phone.
u already reboot for several times.
that means still got boot.img.
except - if u wipe everything (system & data partition).. that surely pc not detect anything. try anything.
one more.. try pull out battery, then plug-in to usb. * if not detected, put back wt usb still plug in.

Heya, got an issue with a Galaxy Nexus phone. Phone does not seem to get any reception, I've attempted to add the Rogers network multiple times, and still either it says error or there is no reception at all. It is an unlocked phone, as the lock image shown upon restarting is unlocked, and as indicated in fastboot mode.
I figured it is the radio that is messed up. So I attempted to return to stock on my friend's phone. However, USB cable does not function properly, as I have attempted fastboot multiple times such as "fastboot devices" with the proper drivers installed etc. Using AirDroid to move the files, I've entered recovery mode only for it to load to the red triangle and then it restarts.
Also have repeated the steps after factory resetting. I am out of ideas guys, hoping maybe someone can provide some insight. Greatly appreciate it!!
Galaxy Nexus is the GSM one, not LTE. Thanks again.
-Thiefa
The red triangle is the stock recovery.
Having ADB working does not mean fastboot will work as well, they require different drivers, check in Device Manager for something like Android 1.0 or Android, then update drivers for it. There is a nice guide in this section by Jubakuba.

Will look into the guide.
The thing is, with the phone plugged into any computer, it doesn't show up at all on the device manager, in order for me to update the driver.

The drivers are a pain the the arse.
Actually, i did that for my N7, install the drivers and the toolkit never saw the light of the day anymore.
Btw regarding the naked drivers, plug the phone in > device manager > update drivers > then direct to the naked drivers folder right?
See the problem is I've updated the drivers and everything.
Whether in Odin, I don't see the phone pop up when I plug it in.
And no IMEI shows when I use a command prompt and attempted fastboot devices.
I'm just going to tell my friend to return it to Bell.
Thanks guys.
I am not rooted. Have yet to figure it out. I have rooted everything I had but this device. Followed albert wertz method for my last device. It was fine but maybe its a samsung update or a win update; I am not sure what the issue is. I am just trying to transfer files from cell>pc vice versa. Drivers are installed and trying the samsung toolkit too but it apparently thinks that debugging mode isn't checked cause it gets stuck there everytime.

Hope I'm giving the right answer. this is what i found in the C drive under the samsung toolkit folder
Samsung_USB_Driver_1.5.15.0
drivers
I can't post links yet, but do a search on google "samsung l710 drivers" and hit the first link. It should take you to Samsung's website and you can get the drivers there.
Also, check if the device is in the right mode by doing the following:
On the dialer, dial *#7284# (*#PATH#).
Set the UART to PDA.
Click on Qualcomm USB Settings and change it to MTP+ADB.
If it was set to RMNET + DM + MODEM for example, checking the USB Debugging option will not enable debugging.
I was trying to root my nexus 7 but didnt switch on usb debugging. It is now in a bootloop i suppose (stuck with the google logo and unlocked lock). I have searched on alot of forums and tried them but i think i failed because the usb debugging function is not switched on. I still can access bootloader as well. Please advise. Thank you.
Also, i tried to go to recovery mode but it will go straight to the bootloop
Don't you think it's the normal problem? Try fastboot -w in bootloader.

Try this tool(If you are using the Wifi version, stay clear if you are using a LTE version) :[TOOL] 08/23/13 One Click Factory Restore (dead or alive) updated w/ JSS15Q images, a lot users reported that it works very well for restoring bricked/bootlooped N7s, I once used it to wipe my unlocked & rooted N7 and go back to stock and it worked like a charm.

You don't need USB debugging for fastboot operations. As a matter of fact USB debugging is only used to conveniently boot the Nexus into the bootloader, so you don't have to press any buttons on the device.

I Don't believe the Stock recovery lets flashing any zips. If the USB port is truly broken hardware wise, go for repair.
Perseus is correct. The only update.zip stock recovery will work with is for an OTA.
Without the usb port I'm afraid you are outta luck. Are you certain the port is bad? You can still charge right?
Edit, sorry bout the name! Auto correct snuck up on me there!

I don't know about that, might it be you don't have the correct drivers, can you verify the USB is getting power? And for getting a stock .zip to flash, can't you just take your sdcard into an adapter, place it on there, and place it back into your phone and flash from there? Or am I missing something and it's not that simple?
Have you tried another cable? Not a cheap replacement either, but a good quality data cable?

When you connect to a Windows PC, what do you see in Device Manager ?
When you reinstall drivers, just uninstalling the driver pkg won't work. You still have to uninstall or update drivers through device manager, otherwise it'll continue to use the ones originally installed.

From Windows, uninstall everything related to Samsung or KIES. Reboot the PC then try connecting the phone. Even if the Driver Wizard does not pop up, Manually go into Device manager, Right Click and go to the Driver Details of this unknown Device. Manually install the driver.
My issue with my GNexus GSM i9250 is as follows:
- No PC will recognize the phone connected to it
- The phone will charge connected either to a PC or wall charger but will show no charge bolt icon, powered on or off.
I have replaced the battery, cables, and tried multiple PCs and USB ports to no avail.
Upon replacing the USB flex in the phone, the problem has now reversed! I have even sent back the USB flex thinking it was defective, but the replacement for it also had the same issue. The USB flex is OEM.
When using the new USB flex my issues are:
- The PC will recognize the phone and be able to transfer files
- The phone will not charge either via PC or wallmount charger.
I have also flashed to stock successfully via the Nexus Root Toolkit to no avail. I am at a total loss at what to do. Please help!
Is my phone's motherboard/mainboard screwed? Please help.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

While talking on the phone, it locked up then reset on its own.
Still no progress, tried replacing other parts in the phone. Is it possible the motherboard/mainboard has gone bad, or is the flex itself the issue? As mentioned in the OP, the issues only reverse themselves.
