I-Blason case battery pack - One (M7) Accessories

Just received this today from Amazon for about $65. So far I love it. Nice styling, does not add a lot of bulk, feels good to hold, leds and a push button switch on the back and a functional kickstand. Beautiful and the price was right. I'll repost here if I find any issues but doubt I will.

My main question for you guys is how long does it take to fully charge up the phone and from what percentage did you start charging and does it charge while using the phone?
I'm extremely concerned about the 500mA output. But I'm interested in the case cause of the styling and the kickstand.
Please post some pictures

What the hell is a battery bank? And who cares about looks when you're trying to stay powered on as long as you can.

What's the I-Blason's life? IE How many charge cycles? The Mophie only has 500.
I myself have a 5000 mAh battery bank I carry around when I need it.

They're also known as external battery packs or portable batteries. Whatever you call it, they amount to the same thing-- an external (usually rechargable) battery with a USB output that usually provides 1.2V current, enough to charge most phones (more ambitious ones can sometimes sport 2.0V ports for tablet charging).

I personally have never heard of them referred to as battery banks, so much as portable batteries. But to each their own.
Back on topic, the reviews seem nice, but I am interested in the charge life. The output doesn't concern me altogether much, as if the pack can either charge my phone on idle or slow burndown it will suit me just fine (I don't think I'd be using such a case incredibly regularly either).

On the 500mA side of things if you are running heavy tasks the battery % will drop faster obviously. But you have enough juice that it will help to have the case on as after the heavy usage is over then the case will trickle charge and provide plenty of juice from then onwards. The only real issue is whether the internal battery is used first. If this is the case and you fully use up the internal battery then the trickle charge will take a while to bring it back up again. If it's pulling charge from both batteries at the same time this should not be an issue. Perhaps it's best to email the company and ask?

I think people are asking because the mophie Juice Pack is rated at 1.5A, meaning it'll drain out its case battery charging the phone before the phone battery comes into play at all (if you set it up that way, of course).

So ive had this case for a while and I should note a few things. It seems to scratch easily. Doesnt bother me but may bother some. There is an edge around the entire thing, it collects dirt easily and is more difficult to clean. Not hard but not something that can just be wiped down anywhere. It seems to make a glare when taking pictures with the flash.
On some good notes it works great and feels great. I turn mine on as soon as I take the phone off the charger. I find it works better that way then having to power the phone and charge the battery. When I turn it on immediately it will last a good 8-12 hours. If its also charging the phone it only lasts a couple hours.

I-blaston
its nice dont get me wrong but it charges very slow

where can i find it in Middle East??

How long is it from top to bottom?

[MINI Review] OEM Moto Extended Battery 1930mAh

Well I decided to go pick up a Original 1930 mAh DROID X Motorola Extended battery. I USE my phones to the hilt, I sync everything, use everything, and take full advantage of all the features like you should when you have a device like these. All in all I am not a battery scrimper, I have a charger at home, one in the car, and a USB hanging out of my laptop everywhere. LOL. I have always hated the Tumor that sticks off the phone when you are using a EB's, but since you can barely Moto's EB is even in the phone I thought I would give it a shot.
Now to make this to the point..... When I put the battery in new it was at 30% I ran it down to the 5% warning and red blinking light. After a full charge from the Wall charger (Which only took 2 Hours BTW) I pulled it off and ran it "business as usual"... Calls (About 2 hour 20 mins worth), Browsing, Chat, Pics, Texts, Apps, Wifi on, Downloads, Played Rock band for awhile, Full sync to all 5 Gmail accounts, FaceBook every hour and Twitter the same. Plus a 1300mHz OC (Low Voltage) with out Screen off or battery low profiles (I thought that would be unfair). Here are the findings....
Total Time Unplugged: 14 Hours 34 Minutes
My setup is in my Sig but... basicly it is Rooted, I stripped ALL Bloat from the Stock ROM, and like I said before Droid OC to 1300 (Low Voltage), Also... GoTo Lockscreen
So now.... I can leave my chargers at home and plug in once overnight. I have to say, this is the best $50 to spend on the phone.
NOTE: This was only after the FIRST charge, after 3 complete charges I can only assume it will be better.
EDIT>>> For a comparison... Running the stock battery I would be at 20-30% by 12:00 (Noon) Easily
Screenies below.

I'm with you on that. The fact that it adds barely anymore thickness to the actual phone and the amount of power you gain from it made it an easy purchase for me.

One thing that is concerning to me is why does the first screen show your battery at 33oC? Were you charging at that time, though the icon doesn't seem to show that. I hardly get 28oC at 1.3ghz stress test while charging.

I did notice my temp did go up after installing the EB... The screens where taken at the 5% warning.
As I said, that was the first run of the battery. Now after the second full charge I have been steady at 29c. Maybe a conditioning or burn of the battery?? Can't really say.

I have this battery too, and I use the standard battery door with it. It is a little snug, but it does fit. This avoids any excess bulk. I have used it this way for a few months now. I am running apex and overclocked to 1.3 and my battery life is great.
I've had this battery for quite a while now and I've found my battery dying A LOT faster than it used to haha. When I first got the battery, it was amazing, now.... not so much haha. Been doing charge cycles and clearing battery stats but it still remains bad haha. Still much better than the stock battery though haha.
ive always been tempted to get the extended battery and today i finally purchased it. Your review definitely helped get me to do the obvious and purchase one

Verizon and Motorola should give you a commission!
Due to your review, I went back to the Verizon store and bought the battery. Heck, the salesperson never told me that they even had this available, or I would have bought it with the phone!
I'm running it in an Otterbox Defender case, with the battery cover that came with the battery. So far no issues, but I'm getting much better battery life.
Thanks!
I'm going to the VZW store today to get this battery, thanks for your great review!

Hey, I have an Otterbox Defender and I have been holding off on picking up one of these batteries. I really want the extended battery but I don't know how it would work with the case.
So the battery does come with an extra back plate for it? Have you tried the battery on it's own without a back plate and just using the Otterbox case and if so, how does it fair?
me too! just got it today!
The battery comes with its own battery cover. It didn't feel thinner, but a bit heavier. I'm guessing it's a heatsink.
I put the battery in, put the cover on, and put the Otterbox case on. It was a tighter fit, I had to be a little careful in ensuring that the two halves of the otterbox case locked together. But it's together and I didn't have to modify anything. I've been using it ever since, and haven't had any problems. And I *love* the extra battery life! I routinely have 40% left at the end of the day, and I'm a pretty avid user. I have an Exchange account on push, gmail on push, and use google voice constantly.

[BATTERY][unboxing/review] Anker 1900Mah

Hey, My first unboxing/review so tell me if I have missed something, The batteries are here For 2 of them, along with a wall charger with a USB port on, for £16 (Used to be £12) And on it's own for £8 here, There will be hopefully alot of pictures and info through out, and currently I don't know how well they perform as I have only had 'em a couple hours, or if that they are actually 1900Mah, I'll take of the whit bit later and find out, however, 2 batteries for £16 with a wall charger and a year warranty, I'm not going to complain
All the pics were taken with my SGSII and I have re-sized them, Hopefully they are not to small but I didn't want them to be huge, Also sory for any blur, I don't have the steadiest hand in the world
First the box, Starting right from the beginning here if anyone cares, Very simplistic, cardboard and says Made in China on the top, nothing too special.

Inside the box, Packed neatly.
What's in the box, the 2 batteries, charger and UK adapter (You'll see why later)
The charging unit, Which has (I think, Never been, there) a USA Plug built in, which...
Flips out to look like this.
The UK plug on it, (It slides right on)
Anddd,, Where the battery goes.
The battery (Both sides) With all the info on, Looks and feels high quality.
With the battery in.
Some of the instruction booklet (If you can read it)
It whilst charging, The light is actually nicer in person and more pink (Also fit's the original battery.. Obviously )
It fully charged/not charging, Blue/Purple light (again looks brighter and nicer in person)
Some comparison photo's between the Stock and Anker battery.
And that's all, I'll post how well it performs asap, But to be fair im going to give it the 3 recharge cycles as stated in the manual, Then compare it to the original.
Thanks for reading
great looking forward to the test results
wondering though how come some anker can put 1900mah in a battery the same sized as samsung and samsung cant do such thing as a default? hmm

Just turned everything on and clocked it up now to drain the battery , Should be done by tomorrow ,
I guess it's to save money on Samsung's half, But I'm not too sure either.
Intresting!

Had the same battery on my sensation, worked like a charm and gave me an extra 20-30% more juice. Don't know how it will preform on the SGS II though..

I'm curious too. My cheap Chinese battery's say their 1800mAh and is more like 1300-1400mAh which was no surprise at the time because its easy to print whatever on the sticker without proper testing. See here for proper testing http://translate.googleusercontent....h.html&usg=ALkJrhje4iAnKMYySrm1MUK2mZPX9GLr8Q and a few more batteries http://translate.google.com/transla...e/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-2-3500-mah-2430mah.html
The charger is identical to the one I got with my ebay batteries. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270758612241&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123
If you can't tell I'm a little sceptical about the 1900mAh claim but you never know. So I have also clicked subscribe
As soon as you tell me how it works, I'm buying it in the states. This one looks very promising. Is it the same size as the original? Thanks.
same size as the original, however as far as I can tell its ever so slightly thicker and heavier but not noticeable, also it seems promosing : D I've been trying to drain and I'm still at 16 percent, where as my stock would have easily died by now

You think I should cancel my order that I just placed?
i have had this for 2 weeks. Pretty good. Does the job. no overheating issues.
After the first 5 charge cycles the batteries take about 6 hours to charge in the dock, which is fine because trickle charging is good. And having 2 spare batteries, you can leave one on charge and have 1 spare with you.
Battery life increase....nothing spectacular , someone that knows how to test it should comment. I am interested to know the findings
Sorry but that battery didnt work. Already tested and the stock battery is more better. Just let the battery drain to 5% and you will see.
If these are in fact the same as the 1800mAh (1300-1400mAh) then they are actually expensive compared to them The charger is definitely inflated in price for just a different sticker.
so is this brand a good brand??
Damn well thanks for the info guys, 1400mah it is then,
I haven't done any lab tests but its feels the same as stock battery to me on day to day usage.
I bought from the brand because they have excellent reviews on htc sensation, people report 20% extra battery. check amazon reviews

Seidio 3800 MAH Extended Battery

http://www.seidioonline.com/t-mobile-galaxy-s-II-3800-extended-life-battery-p/bacy38ssg2t-bk.htm
Has anyone gotten this battery yet? Does anyone know if they will make a case for it like seidio made cases for the evos. Thanks
Looks to me like that battery would give an sgs2 the belly bump of a lady at 7 months with two buns in the oven...
Since it's unlikely you'll ever find a case for it, why not buy an extra battery or buy a power skin case?
Using tapatalk on my Galaxy 2 to post this!
Shouldn't it come with a case?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I tried the powerskin and it was a pos, all around the sides wouldnt fit right and the charged notification would beep a lot
I agree with the fit/finish issues on the powerskin case. Wished they'd made it fit the phone as well as the Vibrant version did.
The beeping on charge happens when you connect it to a wall charger that can't provide enough amps for the powerskin case. I've had the best results with the Samsung charger which comes with the phone but it will also charge properly from a computer USB port. The charger that came with my motorola bluetooth stereo headset will cause beeping when connected...
Anyway, I imagine this battery + case wouldn't be that much larger than the SGS2 + Powerskin... So, if Seidio decides to make a case for it I might buy both. Not much action in the US on the NFC side of things right now so having NFC enabled batteries isn't that important to me.
just got it guys....will do a review in a couple of days, but after i put it, set brightness to 100% and it took me about 4-5 hours to get it down to 15% from 46% seems pretty legit!
I ordered the battery, I will do a little review on it when it gets here.

I had the same experience. I had one for my HD2 & it was very well made & the battery lasted all day, but the t989 version felt like a cheap knockoff or something. Sides didn't fit, the leds were different shades of blue, and it died after only a couple hours. I ended up returning it.
Battery is the main problem with all those phones.one good thing they can do is attack a dollar panel to all the phones or make hydrogen fuel celled phones that would be amazing.

i concur i usually last 13 hours, i'm a real heavy user...when i say heavy meaning...wifi tethering, checking stock every 5-10 minutes via browser, facebook 30 mins, weather every 1 hour, 2-3 gmail account sync, watching youtube every now and then. using Tune in radio usually drain a ton of battery for me too.
i had the camero sinio battery, it seems to last longer than stock battery if anyone want to go the cheaper route.
so far the battery is awesome, I have 86% left and its been on almost 5 hours. thats with light use though. Also After a few cycles it will get slightly better.

How's the fitment of the extended back cover? Any uneven spaces and whatnot?
Are you using the phone naked without a case?
The back cover fits great, and I am not using a case. You have to make sure it clicks in all the way so there isnt any uneven space. Also the phone doesnt get that much thicker because the battery in the s2 is longer so it doesnt even look like its that much bigger. I wish seidio would make a case though.

I'm just worried about the fitment and how the white case will age.
Just ordered it in white. I'll take some pics and do a short review when it arrives. Estimated delivery is this Thursday.
It would be amazing to have that much battery, but I don't want to lose the Qi charging. I use Qi at home each night or at work if I skip the night charge.
If there was an extended battery that came with a replacement door with Qi built in, I would likely jump all over it.

I could probably retrofit the charging coils from the folio cover to the back of the Zero Lemon case but that would take forever to charge. Does anyone know how long it takes to charge the stock 3140mah battery from dead to 100% using Qi?
Mine finally came in the mail after 4 business days. My initial impressions are that the phone is pretty big now and the extra heft makes it even harder to wrap your hand around the device for one handed use but it's doable. The buttons are very easy to press with the included case wrapping the phone which is a relief, however the case itself seems to have a slightly too loose fit for my taste. I just got done charging the phone up from about 65% to 100% (which took around 1:45). I know the manual, back of the battery and the included business / please rate us 5 stars on Amazon card (which all came in a nice zip-lock type bag inside a bubble padded envelope) say to charge the device for 5+ hours but It's been at 100% for 45 minutes now and the voltage has steadied around 4.3V. I'll be sure to update this post after I get some test data.

For anyone following this I posted updates on the thread over on android central. Got about 9 hours of screen time and just under 2 days off the first charge.

I'm surprised no one talks about the weight of the battery because the without it is so light
I wonder we can gain lightness by changing the battery
I also would have bought the battery if it could charge wirelessly. I love being able to just drop it on my nightstand at night and when I am in my office just set it down to charge.
Mines should arrive tomorrow. Anxious to get these charge cycles going. Also ordered a leather holster case that's super sized and should fit this phone with its extended battery.
Can someone post a comparison pix of stock thickness vs. One with extended zero lemon battery?

Its huge..lol but I expected that. I had the 7200mAh one for Galaxy S3. So I'm use to the extra weight & thickness.
The tradeoff will be worth it. Ive barely used my galaxy note 10.1 since I got this phone. Or my Nexus7. Its really like a mini tablet. Last night I ordered me some HD screen protectors & a universal camera lens kit(fish eye, macro, wide angle).
It arrived today! I like the black tpu case it came with. Plus I like the extra weight. It feels more secure now and not slippery. For my type of heavy usage, this battery is exactly what I needed. Time to charge this up.

Thanks for the "heads up"

Nexus 5 Battery Case - i-Blason vs Limefuel

With both these battery cases now up on Amazon (Limefuel one up for pre-order). I was wondering which one of these cases is the better buy.
i-Blason

Limefuel

I-Blason is cheaper, reflects sound front so i think iblason is better,
Or wait till the zerolemon is release then decide? They said they will release mid January but if they drag I'll probably pick up the limefuel one.

Why? Just cause its more expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's better. You wouldn't own the N5 if that was a the case.

Whoow don't get all hurt about it man, lol I like the way limefuel case is put together. It seem like a better design IMO. I don't recall saying it was better because its more expensive.

There is at least one video review of iblason case on YouTube. It's not as much a review, coz the video does not talk about how it performs. None for limefuel. I think I'll wait till some reviews come out, comparing the two. What I wonder is why the wireless charging technology not being taken advantage of for these cases? These cases make the phone too long and asymmetrical.

In my experience, cases that clip together from the top and bottom (i-Blason) are much more durable than ones that clip together from the front and back (LimeFuel). Chipped holding teeth are common on the latter.
i-Blason is cheaper, but the LimeFuel touts a larger battery. We'll have to wait and see if the capacities (2860mAh vs. 2500mAh) are overstated, or even understated.
Also, limefuel, from the concept video, looks like it protrudes too much in front. But it is after all a concept video, so I guess we wait till a proper product review comes out.

Another significant difference seems to be that I-blason is 500mah output and limefuel says 1.5a or 3times faster charging. I-blason may not provide enough output to keep your phone charging during use, which means it won't save you if your internal battery is near dead and you need to keep using your phone, since it may not give the phone enough juice to run the phone during use and have any left over to charge the battery. This may have significant implications for how it affects your internal battery's life. A high output battery could be left on to avoid your internal battery from ever having to get cycled, whereas one with too low output may constantly go between charging and discharging your internal battery. I may go with the i-blason anyway since it says its available starting today and the price is lower, but it may take more managing its use to avoid negative effects on your internal battery and to avoid getting your internal battery low enough that it won't keep your phone running.

In theory that would be a no Brainer to get Limefuel but I won't believe it until someone runs tests.

Limefuel one looks ugly and fat. The iblason is the one I'd go for

I am waiting for the zerolemon to compare all three cases. From my research of the online reviews, it appears the ibasion and lime are nearly the same and the lime has slightly more battery. The lime seems to press a little on the glass screen protectors so if you have the defective spigen glass with the bubble, it should hold it down and the bubble go away. I haven't seen any reported issues stating this messes with the touch.
I had a casology case that would hold my spigen glass and it would cause my nexus 5 to not recognize my touches.
I figure I waited this long, I can wait another 3 weeks to compare all three cases against each other.
I bought an iblason, it arrived two weeks ago on the nose.
Worked great for 2 weeks.
Now when I plug it in it no longer charges. tried multiple charges, including one that lights up when it is providing power. It does not light up.
One persons experience, but for the cost, not exactly pleased.
How is this battery case compare with Zerolemon?

Right...so you're the first and only person to get a Zerolemon battery case for the Nexus 5 that's not even listed on their website. :good:
