Hi devs, I am a xperia play owner...
After a rough use of 7 month...
The back key og my xperia play is not responding.. Even all other keys (search, home, menu) key works fine...
I want to flash a new firmware in mu play.. But as I read a guide for flashing a firmware in your threads that it need back key (hold) to connect it in flashmode...
Is there any other way to connect my phone to flashmode via flashtool without using back key or a way to get into recovery mode as some guiding videos shows that after installing a custom rom.. It needs to continuous pressing of back key to go.into recovery mode....
Thanks...
Any help will be appreciated ..
Thanks in advance
No other way other than replacing or fixing the back key yourself. YOU need the physical back key to flash roms.

Hey guys,
i've got a big problem. Currently my HTC Desire is a "brick". Not like the normal bricks, I didn't flash a new rom or so.
The problem is: my back button doesn't work!
I wanted to try a restart, but I can't boot anymore.
When I turn it on, I just come into fastboot. So it seems like the back button is "stuck".
Is there any other way how I could boot my desire?!
I would be fine with a running desire with no back button, better than a completely bricked one.
And if I am able too boot my desire, is there any way to remap the hardware buttons? E.g. I don't really need the search button, so I could use it as back button.
Thanks in advance,
Patrick

Hello,i need some help.
My touchscreen(and the four touch buttons: home meny back and search) stop working will i was using the phone!
Only the volume buttons work ( up and down) and the power button.
so i rebooted the phone but i cant even put the pin or unlock it...
the phone is rooted and ai using revolution hd rom.
so i started with volume down and power button(to bootloader),where i can go up and and dow to the first menu
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
but when i go to RECOVERY ,the menu is touchscreen ,so unusuable for me....
i want to make the phone unroot and put the original rom to sent it back to service.
HOW can i restore it??is there a way to do it?maybe using the pc?
Yes , you can flash via fastboot , it is possible, but I don't know exactly how .
Probably you have 4ext touch. I remember reading how you can flash ROMs through adb but it might not be the most straight forward thing, so my guess is that initially you can move back to Clockwork mod and flash your ROM from there..
Have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852905

hey gyz,im in a huge problem.. i've got myself one used desire hd but the problem is that the volume keys r internally damaged..but im interested in flashing custom roms for which i got to know that ,the key combination to recovery mode includes power + volume down in DHD.. i've some plans to cope with it,donno it will work or not
1.edit the generic.kl n replace the volume down's code with the 'search' key's code..
2. let me know if i an use flashtools to flash a firmware without having DHD powered with the battery?.. i mean just like other mtk phones..can i flash a firmware after removing the battery which not also include vloume button issue..?
*is there any way , to fix my volume keys?* plz gyz..help me out
An app called quick reboot can avoid power button hold to certain boots..recovery twrp 2.7.1 is all touch. No volume keys needed to flash Roms and etc

tanx for ur reply bro.. i knew abt those, but is it safe to just have a nandrod backup? i mean in case of hard bricks due to flashing a rom(maybe kernel related misuse), the simple restore of the backup may not boot up device..,as far i know..
btw.. plz gimme the procedure to get root n twrp for my device having no risk of even soft brick/bootloop..
im using stock 2.3.5 in ma desire hd
A hard brick?? If u hard brick, a back up won't do ya any good. Lol. But yeah, always do a back up. Reboot to boot loader and type fastboot get var all. We need to see your specs. Post outcome plz
Hi, I`m trying to hard reset xperia s (l261i) phone (forgot pattern and account and secret question).
Problem is-
A. Sony Companion can`t access the phone because it can`t access a locked phone.
B. Power button + Vol Up button + Camera button not working (first I get 1 vibrate, and a second later another 3 vibrates, and a few seconds later same thing again, and again, and never really booting up).
C. Any other combination not working (tried Power button + Vol Up/Down).
D. Can`t enter fastboot/flashmode.
*Plus, I`m not quite sure because this isn`t my phone, but I`m pretty sure the phone is not rooted nor have USB debugging mode enabled or any other advanced users features on. Also, the phone is on MTP mode (the one that does not help me at all).
Can you guys help me? really don`t understand why this is happening and I found nothing on the web.
