Tp2 discharging on STANDBY ?

hey, last night i fully charged my TP2, i used a little bit
and when i went to bed it was at 92%..
when i wake up today the battery is on 30%...
and i cant really understand? what phone does that??
heres some info of the battery usage
Last full charge 10:32pm, Sunday Jul 26,2009
since last full charge:
standby time: 8hours 45 minutes
talk time: 0hours 0 minutes
Device Usge: 1 hour 0 minutes.
so can someone tell me if this is normal of the tp2 or somethings
wrong with mine ?
thanks in advance?
Had same problem with mine. Culprit in my case was Voice2Go software which is like MS Voice Command.
A few obvious candidates in the stock ROMs for this are
Push email
Other email accounts set up to auto refresh
Push Internet
Facebook checking for events every hour or so
Weather app set to auto refresh
Stocks app set to auto refresh
RSS feed set to auto update
Google maps updating your position online via Latitude
I'm sure there are a few others
Tom
thanks for the replies... but
no i dont have any of thoose turned on...
i dont think i have anything
that would use some connectivity or something..
Mine died overnight when I paused watching a tv episode using HTC Album and went back to the Home screen. I've had it happen a few times always when watching a video and pausing it or going back to the Home screen with the Home key. It seems like you need to stop the video and not just pause it otherwise it kills my battery. I now make sure I stop the video and then usually kill the process for good measure.
Mine never loses charge when in Standby.
Charged it last night. This morning still 100%.

also i have noticed that my USage time is A LOT
MORE than the standby time..
i think that the device even tho i dont use it
it keep being on ''device usage'' instead of being
on standby..
any thoughts ?

Evo eventually stops sleeping

I know there have been multiple threads on sleep issues but I haven't found one like this one.
My phone is able to sleep but only for a certain amount of time. It seems that after I reboot my phone, it can sleep appropriately for the first 8-12 hours and the battery life is amazing during this time and only drops about 20-30%. Up time verses awake time also reflects this. However, after about 8-12 hours, the phone stops going to sleep and the awake timer never stops running. This will drain the remainder of the battery in about 10 hours. After a reboot, the phone is able to sleep again until it develops insomnia once more. Does anyone know what could be causing the phone to stay awake only after being on for several hours? I'm rooted on the stock firmware with the latest OTA. Only extra programs are Google Voice, ePocrates, and Slacker Radio.
*#*#4636#*#* was no help in tracking down the culprit. Spare Parts contributed pretty much nothing either.
Mine did this for the first time yesterday. It's hasn't done it since, but it was very weird. I checked the sleep settings and it was still set to 1 minute, but the phone would not turn itself off.
Probably an app
Same Problem...
I have tried every thing to solve this issue. Change phones; problem return. No apps other than Stock; problem returns. Syncing Exchange, Facebook, and HTC Facebook. Custom Ringtones seem to increase the speed of the error occurrence. Tried leaving them off, but the problem returned. I have changed SD cards. reformated the card, and started it fresh. I have done a factory reset between each test (at least 8 at this point). I have a suspicious that it is the contacts that are getting corrupted, but I have not been able to verify that theory.
Mine has only done it on one evening and not since.

What could be eating up my battery and bandwidth?

I'd like your opinion on this. Today I had my phone mostly at silent and the display was off most of the time, I was attending a workshop and pretty much did nothing with the phone. Before starting, it had 100% battery but when I came back it had dropped to 63%.
Not only that, it also used 3MB of B/W today over the cellular network(Using netcounter for this). For the B/W I got 1 e-mail account set to sync contacts and e-mail as the items arrive(Push mail) in HTC Mail. Now until a few minutes ago it was also syncing News, stocks and weather under HTC's default settings.
I have VillainRom with 17_2 baseband, the phone is pretty much new and the battery is calibrated.
Note : I'm mostly talking about a period of 8 hours.
OK I flashed LeeDroid ROM and 30_2 radio. I also tried to re-calibrate the battery, but it seems it was calibrated since after removing the phone from charger, shutting it down and plugging it back in it immediately went green.
Now I got one gmail account which has nothing to sync, one exchange activesync account set to sync as mail arrives(push) as well as contacts, one HTC Facebook account set to sync every 2 hours, weather to sync every 3 hours and that too only of my location(I removed other cities). I also got Nimbuzz running and Wi-Fi sleep policy is set to "never", brightness is automatic. Hopefully this'll keep my battery happy.
Lets see how it goes, I plugged it out 1 hour ago(It was at 100%), now it is at 92% although I believe the 90-100% span is kind of delicate and runs out quickly. Not to mention that I also browsed for a few minutes.
Totally agree on the randomness of the battery even when charged. Some days I have a wifi surf whilst having my morning poo for 5 mins and I'm down to low 90's/high 80's. Today I'm still on 99%. My poo lengths don't change much so something flaky is going on.

Heh, I know what you mean.
Its been a bit more than 4 hours and I've had a few calls, browsed the web a bit and read 5 mails and send/received 4 texts. Nimbuzz has been on constantly along with the Wi-Fi and I'm having 82% battery. Seems OK considering the usage.

time is not synced in the mornings by 5 minutes everyday

All, i'm having a huge problem. beginning last weekend, whenever I wake up I find my phone clock has become nearly 5 minutes slower.
Because of my sleep schedule on the weekdays, its always 5 minutes late by the time i wake up. strange thing is, within 10-15 min of my phone being "awake" I assume the auto clock sync corrects the wrong time and by the time i'm i'm driving to work the clock's time is right.
i tried turning off wifi one night i think a couple days ago to see if it was some type of strange wifi issue and i found that with wifi turned off, my phone was almost 20 minutes off on the time.
This has affected strangely my alarm clock as well and sometimes it doesn't even go off and i naturally wake up and check and it shows the screen where the alarm clock is running, asking me to "dismiss" or "snooze"
This is super cumbersome, is ANYONE else having this issue with the hox? my only conclusion is while i am sleeping and my phone is on standby for many hours something isn't quite doing its job. maybe something like the phone time being off, i don't know, like 30 seconds an hour or something. I'm still on 1.73.
during the day while my phone is turned on every 30 min to an hour, my clock is perfectly sync'ed.
please help.
turn off auto updating and manually set it - does it still happen?
it could be a conflict between phone time and network time, and the phone stops checking when asleep?

Are you using a custom kernel? Some kernels can have time slew issues. Most people don't notice it. I use Clocksync from the market to keep synced.

i've only rooted it for titanium back up. kernel is factory. i am definitely going to look into clocksync as well after tonight's test. thank you.
i can confirm after i turned off network clock sync that it indeed was not the problem and that there is something inherent in the software that is slowing down my clock on my phone overnight. thing is i don't have any crazy apps. this is so strange.
anyways i have downloaded ClockSync and seeing if this will fix the problem. thanks

Alarm Free Date (#SAD...) bug

Hello everyone,
I know the alarm free date #SAD...# is a beta feature at the moment, but I've run into a bug with it that I thought you should know about.
I have a section on a widget where I show the next alarm date and time, but I want to also show bedtime, which would be the alarm minus 8 hours. I know for standard dates, I can do something like #D-480...# if I want to subtract 8 hours. I can even do math within the variable, such as #D-$(8*60)$...# to subtract 8 hours. When I try this same sort of thing with the alarm free date variable, I find that it compounds amount added or subtracted each minute until something causes it to reset.
To make a simple example, if my alarm is set for 3:30 on Monday, and if I want to display the alarm time with 1 minute subtracted from it, I use #SAD-1 P:mm p#, and I should get 3:29am on Monday. It works correctly for the first minute, but as soon as another minute passes, I see that the the adjusted alarm time now shows 3:28am. So every time a minute passes, the adjusted alarm time gets multiplied by the number of minutes passed since I saved the widget. If I subtract 2 minutes at a time, then I see the time drop by 2 minutes as each minute passes. If I do 8 hours, then, well, it gets very strange very quickly.
I have noticed that the adjusted alarm time will reset from time to time, going back to the correct calculation for a minute, but I'm not sure of what causes the reset. Sometimes it will go back to the correct calculation after editing the widget, and sometimes it won't. Other times it will go back to the correct calculation after my screen has been off for a little bit and then I turn the screen back on, but not every time. Also, it looks like it may not add or subtract additional increments while the screen is off. Again, with my example of subtracting 1 minute, if my screen timeout is 2 minutes, then by the time the screen turns off, I'll see 3 minutes subtracted in total. If I turn the screen back on 10 minutes later, it will still show the 3 minutes subtracted. The next minute that the screen is on, it will either reset to 1 minute being subtracted, or it will continue to 4 minutes subtracted.
FYI, I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Android version 4.4.2, Sprint, rooted, but I am running on stock ROM and kernel.
I hope that this helps pinpoint where the bug may be. Please let me know if any other information is required.
Thanks,
Jeremy
