Ok, I've been lurking and searching around for a while trying to find any info, but haven't found an answer yet to this problem.
I've got Fresh 1.0.1 installed on my evo as of this last weekend. On Sunday, i had very low Awake time vs. Up time (something like 8:00 hrs to 2:00 hrs at one point), but once I install an app (really any app) that it doesn't like, then my awake time goes to 100%, and regardless if I uninstall it or reboot the phone, the Awake time will still continue to have 100%. I wiped all cache's and did factory resets a couple of times, and after painstakingly reinstalled all of my apps one by one, but each time i've done that, a differet app causes the issue, so i haven't figured out which one isn't playing nice. Also, I unmounted the SD card, thinking there may be a rogue file on it, but no dice.
At this point I'm stuck. I don't want to go back to stock, but I 've gotta find out whats going on, because it's killing my battery. Below is a list of the downloaded apps i've got on the phone(just for ref.)
Abduction World Attack, Barcode Scanner, ChompSMS, Do Not Disturbe, eBay, ES File Explorer, Facebook, FandangoFresh Updater, MyBackup Pro,Opera Mini, Pandora, Quick Boot, Shazam, Where, Wireless Tether.

I have seen Pandora cause me some grief in the past.
What is "Do not disturb" I would remove that and check.
Also, how are you checking your awake time?
Do Not Disturb simply shuts off the ringer or puts on vibrate when certain conditions are met(i.e. specific time/date). Its a poor (Wo)man's Locale-type app. I've been checking the Awake time by going to Settings->About Phone->Battery. I've only noticed this issue in the last couple of days. I doubt it's because of Fresh 1.0.1. I'm thinking of trying Damage control to see if it helps.
Let me preface this by saying I'm not complaning about battery life as 36h is very good. That said, I feel like my phone is awake much longer that it should be. Anyone have any ideas why my Awake time is so much higher than my Screen-on time?
Once again, I'm not complaining but considering my phone was awake almost 5x longer than the screen was on, I feel like I could squeeze some more life out of the phone. I had 1 exchange account @ 15min, 1 gmail on push, no talk/g+, ~2-3 hours off wifi (4g), gps on, bluetooth off, 4.0.4, leanKernel.
When analyzing the wakelocks, I don't see anything that would explain almost 6 hours of extra awake time:
Considering most of this charge I was on wifi, I think I should have been able to achieve more than 1.5h screen-on time. Especially when I see people getting 4-5+ hours on theirs. What could be causing this seemingly excess awake time?
Since those screen shots, I've done another full cycle and here are my results. Same settings as before. It looks as if I did a bit better with the ratio of awake vs screen on, but I still only got ~20 hours. I'll admit, this had much more 4g time and heavier usage.
As you can see it's better, as it was only awake about 3x as much as the screen. You can see where I was at home in the second screenshot (The long bar of wi-fi) and that included me sleeping yet it shows that the phone was consistantly waking up overnight without any usage. Short of "email", I'm not sure what could be causing it. I got MAYBE 3 e-mails overnight.
Signed out of talk/g+/latitude
Location services was NOT disabled in either set of screenshots. Disabled it and charging now. Maybe that will help?
Have you checked out your wakelocks using BetterBatteryStats (found here on XDA)? Also, download CPU Spy from the market and check how long your phone is in what state. If it isn't in deep sleep too often, you might have an app or service keeping your phone awake. Background Data of any kind usually does that. Also, the first culprit I would investigate is Google Maps. Uninstall that bad boy and test your phone out. I am betting you that 60% of the time, the problem with your phone being awake too often is with Maps running unnecessarily in the background. And to be clear, Maps self-restarts itself even after logging out of Latitude and closing the app completely

I have attached all the wakelocks to the previous two posts. I didn't attach CPU spy but I did check it every time. Usually it's between 60-80% but most often it's >70% in deep sleep.
Just did a fresh wipe with a app restore using the market. Location services have been disabled. I have uninstalled all gMaps updates and disabled the app. Is this good enough? Should I convert to user and uninstall using TB?
Just wanted to chime in and say I'm seeing a very similar profile to what you posted. And I'm not entirely sure, but I think this started when I flashed this ROM. What I feel like I'm seeing is that active use of the phone seems to be more of a drain than it used to, but I'm not sure how much of that would be placebo (i.e. remembering when I first got the phone around the holidays and there were a lot of relaxed days at home with constant wifi).
But right now I'm seeing 5.5 hours of awake time and 1 hour of screen on time, with 27% remaining. Total time is 42 hours, which seems to round everything out to a decent battery life, but again, 1 hour of use for 70% of the battery seems lower than what I remember. Not sure if a vote for seeing the same behavior is one for this being normal or us both having the problem, but I can try to post screenshots/more detailed info later if it would help.
This is on the above linked rom with stock kernel, 4.0.4 radios.
That's the same ROM I'm using and I agree, 70% usage for 1h screen time seems too much. I've seen people get over 2.5h screen on time on pure 3/4g
I'm going to see if disabling maps and location services help. Will report back.

I also have a problem with wake-locks.
Since phone is relatively new ~2weeks its still stock 4.0.2 GSM. After some time my battery life fell and thanks to XDA i think i found the problem Google backup.
I disabled Google backup to see if i get the same awake time tomorrow.
If the problem doesn't go away, is it possible to resolve this problem without factory reset of the phone?

I just installed the 6.3.0 google maps, which claims to increase battery performance for location and latitude services. I'll try to make a comparison next time my battery is drained.

Well after disabling backup thing im still getting 90% wake time from backup service so i will try to do a factory reset over weekend and hope it goes away... Will post resoults in case some 1 else gets this problem.

This looks to me like some sort of Maps issue. Try to uninstall/disable maps and see if it goes away. Looks like it's stuck trying to locate you with maps somehow based on those wakelock names.

Hopefully the factory reset will fix it, that is an odd problem.
It seems to me like my problem was the version of leankernel I was using. I went from 10.0exp2 to 2.01exp2 and it's much much better
Actually, the kernel upgrade did not fix my problem. I did seem to figure out what was happening though.
This entire time I've noticed that my phone would standby and sleep very well on Wi-Fi but when I switched to data it seemed as if I would bleed juice. I discovered that my "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" was set to "always" and I believe that was causing my excess wakes.
I've changed it to "Never" and I'm doing some tests. I'll be sure to report back if anyone is watching this thread.

mine is opposite of that, i standby fine on data but terribly on wifi. im guessing that is background syncing. i just have to figure out what is doing it
i have my wifi set to never too for better battery life. It seems counter intuitive, but wifi is better on power than 3g/4g. So preventing the phone from leaving wifi back to cellular is better for battery. All my phones have been like this.
yeah thats what i thought it does but mine drains faster on wifi...i leave it on cause i barely get signal in my room an if i sit on 3g it just takes a long time to do anything

Yesterday I was playing around on 3g all day and I was seeing an average of 6%/hr. My phone is consistantly awake 20-25% of the time according to betterbatterstats. Screen on will always be far less than half of my awake time. Wifi drains around 1%/hr
I did a wipe of my 4.0.4 install and flashed a fresh kernel download. I'm not logging into exchange because, for some reason, I think that's my problem.
Also, changing to Never didn't really fix my issue.
I have no idea why some person thought it was a good idea to program a feature to turn your device off randomly. My one year old woke me up this morning early, I went to check my phone to see what time it was but the screen wouldn't turn on.
I left it on my nightstand with well over 50% battery when I went to sleep, no apps running like usual. My device will lose 3-4% battery over night, so no big deal at ~50% battery overnight.
Continuing with the issue, I booted the phone up to see if the battery had drained or something but it was still at 50%. After it fully booted a message popped up stating something to the fact of:
"Wondering why your phone turned off? It was turned off to rest. Your phone needs to rest to continue operating at optimum levels. Using high draining applications like navigation and video streaming can hinder system performance"
Or some kind of BS like that. I wish at 3:30am I had the forethought to screenshot the message...
Has anyone else had this happen? The thing is, I barely used my phone all day. Literally a few minutes of talking, few texts, took a few pictures and browsed a few articles using chrome.
I rely on my phone for my alarm so if this randomly happens that could be bad if my daughter sleeps in!
BTW, I'm running @santod040 stock rooted 5.0.2 full version.

Have same problem. Has happened about 3 times since lollipop update. Fully stock. I tried cache wipe but that hasn't fixed it.
I am 100% stock as well, unrooted and S-ON. This has happened about once per week. Phone shuts down by itself and displays a message upon restart (see attached).
I've asked HTC support and they've had me try safe mode and wiping cache partition, though it sounds like it's a more widespread problem than something caused by a third-party app.

If the phone dies suddenly without being able to shut down fully most of the time it will lose certain settings, like sounds, data and Wi-Fi turned off, saved Wi-Fi networks gone, etc. If it happens while starting up it has lost whole apps, all contacts; mostly acting like a first boot but some installed apps, settings, call history, text messages, etc did remain. Any ideas?

I spend the same, and also turns off me having 20 % battery....google traslate, sorry.

It's a glitch with HTC's Marshmallow version. It happens on stock as well as custom ROMs. Nothing to do but wait for an update from them, or always make sure your battery stays charged. It happens to me at 6%

I am having the same problem, heaps of settings change, including default keyboard, messaging app quick settings wifi etc
if my phone was dying at 5%i could deal with it but it is dying anywhere between 20 and 30% and often catches my unawares.
An update to fix this would be great.
Yup, I have the same problem only I don't lose saved wifi networks but I get signed out of every single app. I also get a google play services error which requires me to clear the apps data.

I have been having these problems for the past 4 months (running Lollipop)
I thought that the Wifi passwords issue and app logouts was due to low system memory. (battery would die around 15%)
Since doing a factory reset and 2 weekends ago, the battery dies around 25% and I still experience app log outs etc.
My device is close to the 24month warranty limit and I need a fix urgently.
I also have Bluetooth call random clipping happening both on lollipop and Marshmallow.
This is killing me. Any fixes yet?
Lately it's been losing home screen icons and a couple settings even when I manually shut the phone down. Ironically yesterday when it died suddenly some previously missing icons I had yet to restore reappeared.

A few times now manually shutting the phone down before the battery dies has led to all Google related icons (Chrome, YouTube, Play Music, etc.) being removed from my home screens and having to manually re-add them. When the battery dies it's a roll of the dice what, if anything, will be changed/lost.
In addition to almost everything already said RE: most customization is lost, apps and widgets disappear on restart, etc. I've noticed that all of the (mostly AT&T) apps that I disabled are enabled and updated when the phone comes back on! This is so annoying and is my first major problem with this phone! It's taking time to have to redo all my settings each time the phone dies!
Same problem here very annoying especially as I have to phone bank to reset my mobile banking app as it screws the settings in this. #leaveitoncharge
Yesterday mine died at 30%, and upon restarting it went through the "Optimizing Applications 1 of 261" then proceeded to come up with a warning that the phone had an internal error and might be unstable until doing a factory reset. After clearing the warning it was stuck in a "Sense Home has stopped working" loop until I could get into Settings and clear the data for Sense Home. This allowed me to at least make sure things were backed up before doing a factory reset, but more than half of my contacts were missing as well as many text, call history, etc. A similar thing happened with the wife's M8 last week and had to factory reset hers then too.
I had this problem and had my battery and main board replaced in the final month before 24 m warranty ran out.

Then hit more, and select battery test.
Battery has to be 100% to complete teat which takes an hour. Do this when you don't need it.
My test would often show 91-94% but I had one that said 71% which I saved a screen shot.
Since the battery and main board replacement it's still my favourite phone.
solve the problem of battery and loss of settings , change the battery of my htc, now everything is fine , 3 days that the battery is discharged properly , I hope this information will help someone.
Not positive I've lost settings, though I'm fairly certain I have. I have lost app permissions many times. And my phone seems to die around 30% and won't let me boot unless I am plugged into charger. I was recently forced into a factory reset due to a message that popped up just like a somebody else a few posts back. This is a recently replaced phone (VZW replaced it as the prior had battery problems). The prior one did not do this. I hope HTC get's their act together and fixes the issue. Highly annoying.
Ive been having this issue since the beginning of the year and now it seems to happen every few days. I pretty much don't have a choice but to buy a new phone at this point, which sucks because I love my m8.
This is exactly the same issue I've been having. I'm at my wits end with having to re-do all of my settings and apps daily, and sometimes (randomly!) it won't hang onto a charge for more than a few hours even if I'm barely using it. I basically have to leave it on a charger all the time to keep it from shutting down and losing all my settings! I used to love my M8, but for the first time ever I'm considering swapping to a Samsung just to get away from these issues. I've had this phone for a little over two years and these problems only just started around March 2016 - but they've been an absolute constant since then, and only getting worse.

I've bought a G4 in March and only 20 days ago I've started to notice a odd and big battery drain. Android tells me it's "Android SO" consumption. What once drained like up to 5%, now drains more than screen. 20 days ago, battery lasted like 34h. With same usage now, turned 12h.
I've uninstalled the apps I've installed meanwhile, used it in battery eco mode and even on airplane mode, without any luck.
4-5 days ago I've installed Wake Lock Detector (no root, but with the right permissions) and Better Battery Stats. From what I understand from the reports, they don't blame any specific app but show thousands of wakelocks on Android SO. I believe sometimes it can be normal (for instance, when I run with GPS and music). Anyway, maybe the issue lies here.
What I find really odd is that those 2 apps say that the phone is awake more than 90% of the time. Like 1h of deep sleep only per full battery.
I could understand if someone says that it's the battery that had a great use already, but not only has 7 months of use, but also the phone behaviour changed (Android SO was never so high before, at least constantly).

Suggest you check out and install the apps recommended apps on ✭[GUIDE][26-07-2016]Extreme Battery Life Thread(Greenify+Amplify+Power Nap)✭ at https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
Read the OP thoroughly for each app discussed. The wakelock situation can be helped a good deal with Amplify and Greenify in particular - the paid versions - but I would also install AppOppsXposed - all require Xposed which requires root in order to be installed and I would also check out Power Nap to see if any incremental improvement.
You may a also want to run a malware scan ...
Thanks for the info. I checked it earlier, but most of those apps only run in root phones. I'm waiting for official Nougat in G4, mostly because haven't saw yet a Nougat image for this device without any problems, like camera not working, or such. I wouldn't mind to pay for apps that could work on this, but I want to avoid rooting. I guess I rather put Android 7, that has a bigger chance to even solve this problem, than root at this time.
Haven't said earlier but did a factory reset yesterday and device kept the behavior... I believe a hard reset would reduce almost to 0 the eventual malware problem.
No obvious alternatives for not rooted phones? Haven't this happened to someone else and been solved?

I had the same problem a few weeks ago...i was loosing ~30% of the battery at night with no wifi/data/gps etc. I tried everything...factory resets, different roms, greenfy & those kind of apps but the phone would not sleep. The last thing i tried was a factory reset and after i logged into my gmail account i set the phone as a new device...so no restoring apps and backups from my gmail account. Now everything is ok, my phone sleeps like a baby. I've read somewhere that it might be related with the syncing & backups....i don't really know, but you can give it a try.

Haven't tried that yet. I'll try to remove and add the device again, to avoid the pain of a new hard reset.
To have a reference, it was good to know an average percentage of other G4 deep sleep. If everyone has around 90%... maybe it's not a problem at all. The "sleep like a baby" is which percentage? Also, there are plenty babies that wake up hourly crying for a period of time...

My phone was awake >90% of the time(when screen was off), even in flight mode, when it had "the problem". Now things are back to normal...~2% awake when the screen is off.

Tried to reset a couple more times, tried to remove old phone register in my gmail account, but I wasnt successful.

Once it asks for my account, I'm not able to set it's a new device. I also did no restores... Is there a way to disconnect devices from Google account? I was only able to do so in devices I connected like one month, or more, ago, but not able to do so in the device I'm using at the moment.
One thing I did not try but that would confirm your thesis is to register device with a new account.
Anyone with an alternative?
I'm hoping LG really releases Nougat for G4 in 2017...
Today, the device returned to normality without any intervention. I can only imagine the following: since last factory reset I've disabled some apps I didn't used, like Google books, or Google music, but only yesterday I did a normal reboot (due to huge battery drain...). Eventually, some updates just took place after this reset. Anyway, even having imagined this theory, I don't believe in it. Wizardry, I bet.
