Oh yeah! Bring me the Apps2SD plz - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

http://phandroid.com/2013/06/06/galaxy-s4-storage-update/

that is a load of crap. This has been something peolpe have complained about since profiles were introduced. Hopefully it's well, because some of it would be pain trying to do with DirectoryBind or FolderMount. That's why some run scripts to switch the SD card for the internal memory.

You don't think that they're doing the same thing they're doing the exact same thing however its all scripted within the ROM itself. Because developers don't know that exact code so to speak that's why not implemented the the reason why we have to use an application that allows the script to run.

Haha...no need to get picky, or pick a fight. Built in is built in. I could care less how they do it.
I'm pretty much over my flash-happy days of manually applying tweak after tweak after every flash of a new ROM or kernel.
That's not to say I don't still apply things manually, I just try to minimize that as much as possible.

This is so me. I can't wait for that update to come any sooner so I can move all my gameloft games. My note have never been rooted since released date. Just tired of playing with multiple rom at a time (back in my flashaholics days). Although development is great for this phone, thanks to awesome devs.

Yeah but doesn't this need a custom rom to be fully integrated?
I run the apps2sd script(From http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-n...sd-card-with-rooted-galaxy-note-2-app2sd-mod/) and use script manager to run it. I am on stock rooted. The problem I have is that every time I restart my phone, I have to manually run the script from script manager, it does not automatically run. And yes I have root and boot checked, and I've granted root permissions to busybox and script manager.

I just use FolderMount. Works well with games and other stuff.

Go to this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234 and dl ext2intsd.zip. you must be on a tw rom and use either stock or perseus kernel (stock kernel must have init.d support) this .zip will make it permanent even after restarting your phone.

[Script][MOD][U9RC6][ICS]I SCream! -=V6 SUPERCHARGER=- The ONLY RAM Fixer + KAK & 3G!
This is an awesome memory script by zeppelinrox.
I have used it on a few of my phones in the past and it does exactly what he describes it as!
This is the original thread with links to the scripts.
Recommended is setting 9, with the 1000HP. HP has to do with total memory I believe.
Editing this for some more clarity:
The most recent updates (betas/tests) are located here.
Software needed before installation:
1)Script Manager (found in the Market)
2)Busybox Installer (found in the Market) Make sure you install Busybox 1.182 or lower!
3)Your phone MUST be rooted!
To install:
1)Make sure you have the above software installed.
2)Download whatever version of V6 Supercharger/3G Turbo that you want to install. I usually install the most recent beta releases. You can find the stable release from here Betas/tests are here.
3)Open Script Manager
4)Navigate to where you downloaded the script and select it
5)Check Run as Root
6)Touch Run
7)Follow the instructions as the script runs!
Highly recommended for everyone's phone!! It really turns your phone into something brand new!
Good find I'll have to give this a go.

You better check to see what version of busybox you are using or you are asking for a world of errors. I believe we are on version 1.19 and you need to be on 1.18.2 or lower. And you have to remember that a universal tweak or mod doesnt always work with our phones because samsung did something way different this time. So im just saying be careful!!!!!!

You can use busybox installer to downgrade to 1.18. I did and my cf-bench scores went up quite a bit. (With this and the Universal Adrenaline Shot.)
Phone seems more responsive and faster to switch apps now.

It will probably not work because the mounting path is a bit different. However you can try it. if it works, it will disable CPU rendering and add some tweaks to the GPU rendering. If not, nothing will be changed.
To check this tweak was appiled sucessfully, you simply have to open Root Explorer and go to /system//lib/egl/. There you have to check egl.cfg and if libGLES_android.so is renamed into libGLES_android.so.bak. In egl.cfg you should find only this line "0 1 adreno200".

If there are no changes made to both files flashing this Mod then it didn´t change anything. Oh well it might add some tweaks to the build.prop, but i doubt that because like said previously the mounting path is different and the update-binary is device specific.
However I´ve already ported this mod for our SGW and sucessfully flashed it.
You can download it here.
I´ve called it Buttersmooth because it´s not really butter for ICS but just disabling CPU rendering and mainly some tweaks for the GPU.

smooth but seems got problem with superuser after using this tweaks.
Then you should go to CWM recovery and fix permissions. I will upload a lite version of this too. This will only disable CPU rendering which already makes it way smoother. But add no tweaks to build.prop.
Oh well I started a separate thread in the developer section about this. There you will also find the lite version too.

You will never get this device completely laggfree. To get it nearly laggfree you would need a dual core cpu, faster and more RAM. The real bottleneck is the amount of RAM and it´s performance.

dont think it makes games more smooth. I guess it just disable some lags and not smooth animations in UI-rendering.

Seeder Script For Awesome Lag Reduction

First of all visit the thread below to understand more about this script it is not my script. It was created by lambgx02 . I just wanted to pass this along because I installed this zip on my phone and now it opens web pages and other apps way faster so check it out. All credit for the zip goes to Ryuinferno Samsung Captivate Glide Thread.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987032. Flash this zip in recovery. To make sure it works just type in terminal emulator the following:
1. su (hit enter)
2. seeder (hit enter)
3. Seeder Menu should pop up like screenshot below you can enable and disable entropy with this menu
4. I recommend removing 'qrngd" from bin folder for this to run the smoothest. It will make sure the seeder script runs correctly.

All I can say is read doesn't = glance. Dirp try again and you will see the dev has a few options, one being a zip and the other an apk. The apk doesn't work for everyone. The zip uses something a bit more baked in. On a further note, the other thread gives you a pretty good idea of the theory used. Why would you flash without reading and understanding anyway?

Can I ask why not? I get not wanting to go as far as custom roms, but with adblockers and access to the system and data partitions, you can do quite a bit without having to go for a full rom.
Well I'm just comfortable with touchwiz and honestly the last phone I had I thought I knew what doing and bricked. So I lost the courage just getting into all this so I'm a newbie...
:'( but I see all the customizations and would love to have them so I just wanted to take the easy way out and get some apks that would work with my stock...

Best way to customize your unrooted phone is probaly thru your launcher of choice... there are some that can be customized more than others, basically what your looking for is different themes/icons which you can find for free or buy in the play store.

Have to agree with lickarock. There's still quite a lot you can do without going all out like full ROMs. If you simply root your phone and load SuperSU (SuperUser), you can load something like ES File Explorer and do simple installs of apk files through there. You really don't have to worry about bricking your phone in that situation.
While I do load different roms on my N2, like you, I just wanted to get blacked out apps also. I'm running blacked out Gmail and Facebook currently, which I loaded through ESFE. Just make sure you uninstall the original apps then install the apks through ESFE and reboot. Everythings running smooth on my phone.
I've had a few scares loading different ROMs where my phone wouldn't boot up and I thought I maybe bricked my phone.......luckily I got it back up and running. Battery pulls suck.......lol
Just be sure to read through all the posts that you find which interest you. Typically, people post issues they are having and possible fixes. If you want to run different roms or something later, just be sure your phone is running the correct specs for it, ie....your baseband version is MA7 vs MC2, not all roms are compatible with multiple versions.

What spary said! You're really better off just waiting for one of the devs to roll the updates out.
Again....read the threads all the way through and if you still have questions, do a SEARCH and see if you can find your answers.......if you can't find after searches, don't be afraid to ask ?s.

If you choose not to root, there are still several ways to have a highly customized phone.
Personally, I am a fan of rooting. I have rooted every android phone I have had except my Note 2. Long story short, I bought my Note 2 through my business and cannot afford to run into any headaches that can sometimes pop up even to the most experienced flasher. I will say the Note 2 is also the first android phone that I haven't felt the need to root for increased performance. CPU, RAM, Battery life, this phone has all three for days.
I created a thread dedicated to creating a custom look without root. And in many ways this is the most custom phone I've ever had.

It's a work in progress and I am adding more and more stuff all the time.

For a blacked out messaging app you might check out Go SMS Pro. There are downloadable themes and you can make your own.

Thank you that's very informative... I really enjoy touchwiz but I just want to root to remove the system apps that prevent me from installing the blackout apps I want like gmail, playstore, ect... And get rid of the ones I don't want or use but I still want the ota's and touchwiz and thanks to the people in this thread is figured out how to customize it exactly how I want it... Thank You all of you!!!!

Just root! I was new to samsung and odin with the gn2 and I swear its simple and worth it! You can then go with custom sized touchwiz launcher that you know and want, but looks more appropriate and utilizes the size of the display properly!

Building deodex

Okay guys, I've been working on building a deodexed rom using dsxdias kitchen. I have a fully working tweeked out odex, but deodexing my apps won't work, any help would be awesome. Think deodexing is where my problem lies since I'm using a mac, virtual box linux, and deodexing requires windows, and I'm thinking I don't have java correct in windows, my windows partition is tiny and running 3 os on my mac there are files everywhere. . Thanks. And FYI I'll have deodexed up for you guys hopefully soon

Sorry, a bit out of my zone.
I did some deodexing several years ago on my Galaxy S II, but I don't remember much about it... except that you've got to basically repackage every APK and remove its .odex file... or something like that. The payoff is something to do with Dalvik cache and being able to easily modify the apk's... Or something like that...
Yeah, I'm really, really out-of-the-loop on deodexing these days. Sorry!
Yes poncho art 64 especially. Though there is a way and I followed it to a t

Use this

You'll also want to grab the newest oat2dex.jar and drop it in that^ folder. You'll have to run it twice. First run deodexes arm64, second deodexes arm.

I got a basic deodexed stock done with some build prop tweeks working, but that's about it for the time being... working on more, but my schedule is full for the time being, this being just a side hobby after my art, school, work, side business, dealing with probation.... so time is very limited, just bought a car so that should add more time to my schedule. I have a pretty modded rom done, but it has a few bugs I need to figure out, hard part is when I take time off I forget where I left off, and basically start from stock again.

Well, I have built a fully modded rom. It has all the bells and whistles, then some. I will be sending it to @SICKMADE for him to do as he pleases.
Best thing to do when you build a rom is to take notes until you have done it enough times until it's like clockwork.
school once again is kicking my ass, just bought a car too and have been working on that. going to see what I can do with the new update, just been running my simple rom with nothing really special, as most mods cause errors for me and since i dont work on it constantly I forget where I left off... the mind of someone with ADHD... Sickmade I need to take yours on a test drive, need to make some space for a back up on my small 32gb
