[Q] Perseus kernel - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running cleanrom 4.9 on my n7105 note, it's unreal! Best battery life every but it's the first rom I've flashed and I want to know if I can use the Perseus kernel with this rom safely? I just want to have the option of running my memory card as my internal memory.
Thanks,
Sam.

Hi,
If it's a TouchWiz based ROM, Perseus kernel will work.

Yes without any hiccups will run

You should have no problems using it. I tried it with a couple difference ROM's and had no problems with it.

Can I use a custom kernel on the stock HTC Rom?

I really like being rooted and I used cyanogenmod 7 release candidate for at least a week and I missed stock so I flashed it back. I really don't know much about kernels, so I was wondering if a custom kernel would work on the stock Rom and change much of it?
Yes. You need a Sense based kernel.

I would recommend Lou's #8 or Chads, both run great on stock roms.
This one is nice and stable

[Q] best kernel

im running a stock rooted rom. ive tried pretty much all of the roms available but not really impressed by many of them. i like my stock rom and was wondering what the best kernel was to flash to over and underclock. ive seen a lot about kettle corn but seems a lot of reviews complain about the battery being drained because of this kernel. so any suggestions?

Best bet is Der Kernel Alpha 7 by morfic. Stable OC (not really any purpose for it with this phone) and features.
I've been running Morfic's Trinity Alpha 7 kernel for TW LG8 STOCK ROMs, coupled with strongsteve's OdexedBlue 5.2. Smooth & stable (I flashed the kernel the moment it was posted), the kernel is undervolted for better battery life at underclocked frequencies.

[Q] Flashing New Kernel

Hi I was wondering what is the best Kernel for the T-Mobile version of the SG2 when it comes to battery like and performance. Right now I am running CM10 4.1.2 and its stock kernel that comes with the ROM. I am fairly new to this whole process so if I flash a new kernel do I have to wipe everything or just the cache? Please help me. Thank you
You shouldn't need to wipe everything but I do if I can. Ocd.
Also, some ROMs are not compatible with all kernels and vise versa. There is no best kernel IMO. Just test em out.

Like said before, there isn't a best kernel. But read through the threads and but can see what each one does and it's problems.
I would recommend lightning zap but u have to do some digging in the pages. It's stable, best performance and battery life
Also u don't have to wipe anything but it's recommended to flash after a new rom flash

[Q] S2 - T989 - Stock Kernel

Hey... I installed a custom rom which required installing custom kernel. It all went as expected but the OS doesn't start... It kept on showing the welcome screen and then system hangs. Kindly Provide me with the custom kernel for my Galaxy s2 - T989
I tried installing a different rom but same issue again. Kindly help
Anyone
Anyone?
XDA sr member Rushing came up with the most stable rom for this phone I have ever used called Shadow ROM v 1.5 you can search the forums here for more info, there's even a YouTube video from Galaxys2root that features it. It is a super light weight rom that has long battery life and tweaks to the stock kernel. its incredibly stable as it's based off the stock T Mobile rom, but it's deoxed and debloated. Currently only runs version 4.1.2 but would highly recommended this rom. 666 is the evil version, 1000 is the clean version that keeps all the stock boot animations and sounds

Kernel for tw 4.4.4

I'm currently running Insane Hybrid which is a tw based 4.4.4 rom & the hispasia kernel is causing my phone to run really hot. It's never done that before so I'm wondering is there another compatible kernel I can run with my current setup?
