Sorry for the late reply, missed this thread... Are you on full stock m8? With locked bootloader? If so, then do a factory reset from bootloader and see if it boots up...
If the above thing fails and if your bootloader is locked and you haven't unlocked it even once, it's best you send your phone to HTC to get it fixed under warranty..
If you don't have warranty, what is your cid? fastboot oem readcid

He is already on 1.36 hboot, it means his firmware is upgraded. Restoring an ICS backup will break the touch most probably!
If everything else fails he could try to do this...

[Q] Back to stock rom

Hey guys, I have a HTC ONE X international version, running CM10 4.1.1 tripndroid..
Im very new to android and i wanted to go back to the stock htc sense rom cause im having a few issues with the custom rom.
i checked my CID and it is VODAP021. I also saw another thread which said i should use the RUU with voda_au, but it isn't working for me! the RUU always fails and says please use the correct RUU for your phone.
any suggestions on what i am doing wrong?
thanks in advance! and sorry if this thread is in the wrong section!
What hboot version do you have
And also give the outcome to this fastboot command
fastboot oem readcid
I followed Option 2 of this guide to get back to stock : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714

i dont see a ruu somewhere now, you have the option to try this
download this nandroid backup
http://db.tt/ZskoHuWB
then flash the boot.img from the nandroid with fastboot commands, boot into the recovery and do a FULL wipe, restore the nandroid and check if it's working. then you have to flash back the stock recovery and try to update the phone !
hope this make sense

One that's not released yet ! So if you going to unlock and flash a custom recovery again......
make a nandroid backup of your own stock rom
And start flashing roms after that

i thought it was working fine, but ive hit some problems again :S
im trying to flash the recovery.img from the nandroid back up, im assuming thats the right one to flash?
with the following command
' fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'
it apparently flashed correctly.. but everytime i try to do an OTA update for 4.1 it goes back into ClockworkMod Recovery? and the installation gets aborted
That's the right command but the recovery from the nandroid is a custom one because the nandroid is made with it , you need a stock recovery
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
Flash this one and update again

now that i've updated, i can put clockwork mod back on and then make a nandroid back up yes?

Yes unlock the bootloader, flash the custom recovery and make a nandroid backup. Save this backup also somewhere on the pc so when something happens to the sdcard (make a mistake and formatted it ) then you still have it !

Custom rom and warranty?

Hi
Basically i cant find my RUU and i need to return my phone for hardward issuses crappy simtray and wifi but i cant return it to stock so im wondering does anyone know what would happen if i returned it with a custom rom installed??
Im on O2 UK and had my phone for about 5 months but recently my sis got a one x too and its so much better reception never cuts out and wifi signal is like 100% stronger so i dont know what to do is it worth returning it to O2 with a custom rom or will they be like immediately oh its unlocked and custom romed your hardware isnt covered? anyone had any similar dealings??
You might be able to bring it to stock, get your cid and main version and check if the nandroid collection thread in the general section has your matching nandroid backup

Bro, the RUU will just be an .exe file you can install that automatically brings your One X to stock, if I recall you don't need to do anything in CWM.
You will need to relock the bootloader though I think.

Yes correct. The .31 is for the 1.39 hboot, you have the 1.36 hboot. Restore the nandroid completely and then flash back this stock recovery

Then you get a small update that lifts the software to 3.14.401.31 and hboot 1.39. After that you can continue to update to 3.18 !

[Q] Restore Stock T-Mobile UK

Hello,

The 2.17.110 nandroid backup, restore that completely and check if the touchscreen works when you booted it up. I know 3.18 builds have problems with that. Not sure about the 3.16 so lets try
When it works you flash back the stock 2.17 recovery and you can update again with official ota.
If the touchscreen does not work we have to find another way
Thanks so far Mr Hofs!
Downloading the nandroid now. Will report back - where can I download that stock recovery and the OTA too just so I can prepare them?
Thanks!

I hope the screen works

Uhm....put the phone in the bootloader and erase cache

If the command fails ....unlock the bootloader. You can update with an unlocked bootloader. Do it at the very end. First we must get to JB
Unlocked the bootloader again and it seems to be doing the update now.
Once I have carried out all the available OTAs then I can relock then yes?
Thanks
Yes sir

Help to find original RUU for HTC One X

Hello all.
A friend of mine has recently asked me for advice about how to RMA his phone due to some serious hardware fault (WiFi network not functioning and lower screen buttons not responding from time to time). It is a second-hand phone, and he has boot unlocked and cyanogenmod installed in it.
I have read that, among the conditions to get a successful RMA from HTC, it is needed to send the phone with the boot locked and an original RUU installed on it.
I have get both the CID and RUU needed through the fastboot command prompt and I would need to find the RUU to match these parameters:
RUU: 3.18.401.1
CID: HTC_203
I can only find either the RUU 3.18.401.1 but for different CIDs, or an older RUU (3.14) matching the area code (401) and CID (HTC_203). I have also read that one cannot flash an older RUU on the phone. Will it brick it?
I have to choose to flash one of this RUUs:
3.18.401.1 CID HTC__032
3.18.401.1 CID HTC__001
3.18.401.1 CID HTC__E11
3.18.401.1 CID HTC__405
Neither of them matches the CID on the phone.
3.14.401.31 CID HTC__203
Or this. This is the newest RUU matching the CID, but is it older than the one originally flashed on the phone.
Could I get any help?
Thanks so much in advance!
PD: Sorry for my English.
You can't run a RUU because there's no ruu for 3.18.401.1 base... You will need to restore this backup:
http://d-h.st/hFn
This is for HTC__E11 but it will work if the base is the same!
PS: Take a backup of the current rom or have a rom.zip in your phone so that if anything goes wrong, you can flash that!

So, I have extracted the recovery.img and flashed it with:
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Then relocked the bootloader with:
"fastboot oem lock"
But when I was going to flash the RUU following the tutorial, I have realised that it is not in exe mode, it is a rar and I cannot "right click -> run as administrator" as the tutorial says.
Is there any way I can flash the original RUU to the phone in fastboot mode? Or an alternative RUU X.XX.401.X in exe format?

That's not a RUU, it's a nandroid backup!
You need to unlock your bootloader, flash this recovery : https://www.dropbox.com/s/p35p0tqf41jbj8b/recovery.img
Then transfer the all the 'files' to /clockworkmod/backup/04-06-2013/. Copy the boot.img to fastboot folder.
flash the boot.img and then go to recovery and wipe everything and then restore the backup!

if you are referring to the one vin4yak gave to you, it is a nandroid backup from another HOX not the RUU. you need to flash it via recovery.

I will try it again as soon as I arrive home.
Spook HECDur
I have followed the above steps, but now in the bootloader, it appears a message above:
*** RELOCKED ***
And if I try to do anything, it appears a:
*** SECUTIRY WARNING ***
What could I do? I would need to send it as stock to HTC RMA, and I do not know if they could see that RELOCKED text, it could be suspicious...
I flashed the recovery.img, boot.img and restore the backup (now the phone is at stock ROM, but it is in German :S). What annoys me the most is that RELOCKED message at bootloader.
Thanks again!

Did you flash the stock recovery before relocking the bootloader?
and what does your bootloader say? endeavoru or evita??
You can not change the ****relocked**** part...

Oh, maybe not. I flashed the recovery.img from the dropbox link (it seems to be a modded cwm 6.X recovery), but I did not flash any other after restoring the backup.
It says Endeavoru.
May I need to unlock it again using the HTCDev method?

No need to do the whole process again... You must have the unlock code bin file right?
Use this to unlock your bootloader : fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
If you don't have your unlock code file, you will need to again get it from htcdevi...
Download this stock recovery : https://www.dropbox.com/s/xzshnnuz3jdcodv/stock recovery 3.14.img put it in your fastboot folder and then flash the recovery...
Again relock your bootloader... the security warning must go now? Try these steps and report back

Thanks so much again.
I have followed the steps and the security warning is gone!
Unlock bootloader, flash stock recovery, lock bootloader.
But it says again ***RELOCKED***, is it normal? Could the HTC RMA deny it for this reason?
I have already changed the stock ROM to the native language.
So, the phone is right now, with recovery_stock flashed, stock ROM installed, native language, all set to default (factory reset), but bootloader "relocked", which is the only thing that would differ from a not modified one. Could it be a problem?
Thanks so much again!

Yes, chances are always there of warranty being void with a relocked bootloader!
You have complete stock rom+recovery+bootloader locked... So you have done your best! Send it to HTC and lets hope for the best!
Do keep us posted!
Thanks again.
Could this thread work for getting a LOCKED state instead of a RELOCKED one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168578
I will try the warranty claim anyway.
I hope that, given it is a hardware fault (Wifi not working from the second month) , a relocked bootloader has nothing to do.
