Hey guys, I have a HTC ONE X international version, running CM10 4.1.1 tripndroid..
Im very new to android and i wanted to go back to the stock htc sense rom cause im having a few issues with the custom rom.
i checked my CID and it is VODAP021. I also saw another thread which said i should use the RUU with voda_au, but it isn't working for me! the RUU always fails and says please use the correct RUU for your phone.
any suggestions on what i am doing wrong?
thanks in advance! and sorry if this thread is in the wrong section!
What hboot version do you have
And also give the outcome to this fastboot command
fastboot oem readcid
I followed Option 2 of this guide to get back to stock : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714

um.. i believe i have hboot is 1.12.0000 (i just checked that in the bootloader)
from that command i get the following response
" DEBUG: cid;VODAP021
OKAY [ 0.017s]
finished. total time: 0.017s
i also saw this tutorial "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714"
and found my version main which is 2.17.862.2
BTW sorry for the late reply, i've been on a holiday since i posted this thread. so never had a chance to check it!

i dont see a ruu somewhere now, you have the option to try this
download this nandroid backup
http://db.tt/ZskoHuWB
then flash the boot.img from the nandroid with fastboot commands, boot into the recovery and do a FULL wipe, restore the nandroid and check if it's working. then you have to flash back the stock recovery and try to update the phone !
hope this make sense

One that's not released yet ! So if you going to unlock and flash a custom recovery again......
make a nandroid backup of your own stock rom
And start flashing roms after that

i thought it was working fine, but ive hit some problems again :S
im trying to flash the recovery.img from the nandroid back up, im assuming thats the right one to flash?
with the following command
' fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'
it apparently flashed correctly.. but everytime i try to do an OTA update for 4.1 it goes back into ClockworkMod Recovery? and the installation gets aborted
That's the right command but the recovery from the nandroid is a custom one because the nandroid is made with it , you need a stock recovery
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
Flash this one and update again

wow! you got links to everything! hahaha thank you!
now that i've updated, i can put clockwork mod back on and then make a nandroid back up yes?
btw sorry for all these questions.. im a real noob! :S
Yes unlock the bootloader, flash the custom recovery and make a nandroid backup. Save this backup also somewhere on the pc so when something happens to the sdcard (make a mistake and formatted it ) then you still have it !

And yeah i stored the most significant things in my dropbox so i have fast acces when trying to help somebody

Hi
Basically i cant find my RUU and i need to return my phone for hardward issuses crappy simtray and wifi but i cant return it to stock so im wondering does anyone know what would happen if i returned it with a custom rom installed??
Im on O2 UK and had my phone for about 5 months but recently my sis got a one x too and its so much better reception never cuts out and wifi signal is like 100% stronger so i dont know what to do is it worth returning it to O2 with a custom rom or will they be like immediately oh its unlocked and custom romed your hardware isnt covered? anyone had any similar dealings??
You might be able to bring it to stock, get your cid and main version and check if the nandroid collection thread in the general section has your matching nandroid backup

Bro, the RUU will just be an .exe file you can install that automatically brings your One X to stock, if I recall you don't need to do anything in CWM.
You will need to relock the bootloader though I think.

he's on a 2.17 based version like the most of us ! So a 1.26 based ruu will never work !!! You can not downgrade the hboot !
This ruu will end up in an error !
I can give you the stock recovery tonight ! At 20:00 if you still need it

Right , just use the nandroid and my link to the stock recovery. If Ben says its the same i believe him, but i'm still looking for the clue
Version is the same so it won't be a problem. And if you run into a problem there are always people that will help
Edit : Mr Ben Pope seems to have made a little mistake in reading
I think this nandroid is not going to help you, and i don't see your ruu either on htcruu.com ! And your cid 001 is still missing in the stock backup thread !
I will make a request there ..... I'm starting to believe now that we don't get it to stock at the moment

Recently unlocked my phone (OPTUS001) cid and trying to upgrade to JB I have rooted and installed ROM Manager and download various builds through the app but all failed I am running 2.17 Have tried going back to RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Optus_AU_1.28.980.10_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_258004_signed but fails, I fairly new to modding these phone but love my HTC one X could some please help (A Noobs version) on how to upgrade to JB
Thanks In Advance
I don't think you flashed the boot.img with fastboot commands, the rommanager doesn't work because we don't have S-off phones !
Now the problem, you are unlocked and you run a custom recovery ? and on wich hboot are you on at the moment ? Put the phone in bootloader menu and check also put the phone in fastboot USB menu and do the next fastboot commands
Fastboot getvar version-main
and
Fastboot oem readcid
Post the answers to my questions and the outcome from the commands here please !

I have download matching nandriod rar format I extracted files
Contents are
.android_secure.vfat.tar
boot.img
cache.ext4.tar
data.ext4.tar
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
system.ext4.tar
with phone unlocked
do I do the following
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Wipe in recovery mode
then
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
from the downloaded files
Your help is appreciated
You have to do this :
Make a folder on the sdcard
Sdcard\clockworkmod\backup\time and date folder of the backup that's in the rar file\all those backup files
Then you copy the boot.img from it to the fastboot folder on the pc
Then you boot into the bootloader and flash that boot.img
Then you boot back into recovery and do a full wipe except sdcard. Delete all caches, data system ....
Then you tap backup & restore and restore the nandroid backup
After that you boot the phone and check it works fine
After that you flash back the STOCK recovery (its not the one from the backup because the backup is done with a custom recovery !
Here is the stock recovery you need
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
The last thing is to flash back this recovery and you are good to and update the phone with official JB

No rooting is no problem, you can also update with root active, just make sure you keep the rom stock (don't delete system apps) or if you flash the cwm recovery and then do a new nandroid backup from this rom you always have a 100% stock rom to go back to ! Always safe to do that , and copy the new nandroid to a computer or dropbox .... Always safe !
To update you need stock rom, recovery and boot.img ....

At least the 1.29. The 3.14 is not going to work because of your low hboot. If you want to be certain you need to do a fastboot command

If someone could help me unroot it and return to stock please id appreciate it.
I followed the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 and now have a stock rom installed I just need to unroot it now.
If you already have stock rom,
flash the recovery.img that is in your nandroid backup. (If you have one) If you do not have one get yours here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
go to fastboot
command:
fastboot oem lock
I think that's all to it really
Note that your bootloader will say: RELOCKED so that you might not get your warranty.. Idk I heard different things.

The recovery in the nandroid folder is NOT the stock HTC one. Its the custom recovery wich the nandroid is made with so that's a no go !
Yes it worked but its not stock !

He has to flash the boot.img from the stock nandroid, make a full wipe, restore the 100% STOCK rom, flash back this recovery
