ROM I9000XXJPK - Issue

Hi everyone...
I have recently flashed my SGS with this JPK ROM and when i was about to change my CSC i saw that i can't see this folder that i need to change it: /system/csc
Using SGS Toolbox under "Check Product Code" i have "Active" both in "Product Code in nv_data.bin" and "Product Code in backup .nv_data.bin"
Can anyone help me and tell me what to do so that i can see and browse /system/csc folder? What can be the problem with my phone? What can i do to solve this?

[Q] How to remove/change your operator/carrier name/logo from the notification bar?

Hello there,
I am with a HTC Desire GSM, rooted and S-Off, with the LeeDroid ROM. I want to remove (or change it to something shorter) my operator logo in the notification bar.
I have searched on the forum and with Google, but didn't find a way to do this.
I saw the thread with the carrier name app, but it didn't work for me.
Someone suggested that you can edit the framework-res.apk or whatever it is to do it, but I wasn't able to find instructions on how to do this.
If someone can help me, I will be very grateful

You can use online theme kitchen (UOT Kitchen) http://circle.glx.nl/ and cook your own theme.
To change just the notification bar, select the option: "No battery, theme only". You can select framework-res.apk file of your ROM/Theme from drop-down list in file upload section or extract it from your rom.zip file.

Well, thank you for the reply, but I wasn't able to get rid of the carrier name in the notification bar in the past 2 days. I have tried many times with different theme configurations, but it doesn't matter. I have tried both wthout even ticking the carrier box, or with it being ticked but set to transparent - no difference, the carrier name appears in the same place...

Can anyone help me? I am still stuck with this problem.

The carrier shouldn't even be in the notification bar. A bug perhaps? Or just something the devs did to LeeDroid? I have no idea mate at all.

i'm using desire cdma from cox wireless. after changing to uscc stock rom and sleeksense custom rom, the operator name remains unchanged. how do i change it?
i already change the operator name using qpst and cdma workshop, but it won't work at all. any sugestion?

im so newbie in forum so i needed to write my question in here and not the right wanam rom sticky.
so i have same problems than other guys there: sms showings just those numbers and not the names than usual. and wanam itself write how to fix it but i dont understand what some words mean so here comes wanam answer: It's a known issue when your are using a different csc, you have to change your CSC, this will wipe your data.
so where to i change that CSC and what it is anyway??

I fixed it by doing a factory reset in recovery and then resinstall the rom.

[Q] Any way to change carrier text for glide [ICS]

is there any way to do it? the anoying T-mobile text is just there and taking up my notifications bar, and my lockscreen id like to change it to mabey something cool,ive tried the carrier name change APP, tried to find the eri xml but no luck, if it has to result in recompiling the framework,res.apk has anyone successfully done it?

This is so in the wrong forum , can a mod please move this to Genera l ? (bubal I know that you're looking for an appearance mod but changing framework definitely goes beyond this forum grouping )

Some say that those lines in /csc/others.xml should do the trick

but this (in above example CSC=BTU) is not enough, if you sit on an CSC like DBT

Unfortunately, as your csc is DBT, changing the system/csc/others.xml file will not give you shortcuts in lockscreen. You do not need to change your csc to BTU though. You can keep your "others.xml" file as you describe it above and then go to system/csc/BTU/system/csc and copy the 3 files -other than "others.xml"- to replace the existing in system/csc/others.xml. Then restart, and you are ok. And do not forget to delete or freeze the Help1.0 app in Titanium, or simply rename it to whatever you like with your root browser.

1 Do we have to change to another CSC (this would cause a factory reset) or is it good enough to edit the right files ?

2 I mounted the system partition of a MultiCSCstockROM like XXU1ANF7_T705ATO1ANF1_T705XXU1ANF6 (my home country and expected to find multilpe CSC to check the differences. No luck in /csc ...
Where can those be found ?
I dont like the idea of changing the whole CSC. I would prefer editing the right files/lines ... any hint would be very welcome

Mount the cache.img from the stock rom you should find the csc data in there.

I adapted (thx to @eybee1970) the attached .zip to Tab-S and I have the menue now.
At the end its not a very good solution as it only works with swipe !!!
BTW: How to add custom Widgets ?? I am sure there are already solutions - Link would be great - otherwise we could start a Tab-S thread
