Installed Super Jelly Bean 4.0 on my arc s. ROM looks really nice and smooth, but battery drains faster than with previous rom and most important problem - GPS doesn't work. It lets you turn it on, but it wont find any satelites. I'm using latest fusion kernel.
Anyone else is having this isue? Maybe there's some solution for it?
Try fusion 5.4
Also clear cache and dalvik cachr after installing it

Will try that. Today noticed another problem. Camera app crashes every time I try to take a picture and of course picture isn't saved.
Also gsm signal sometimes drops to 0 bars. Something is really wrong with this rom.

Btw if i wanna move to a nightly from rc1 do i have to wipe the whole data or just wipe the cache and dalvik cache??
Or do i have to flash nordic all over again??
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
No need to wipe data, just wipe cache and dalvik (and battery cache just in case).
Personally i wipe just before and just after flashing the new nightly, even though I'm sure the just after isn't really necessary.
So far, once you are on some cm7 version, you don't need to do anything more before flashing any other (newer or older) version of cm7.

havent noticed any bugs, so dont worry. im running on 1ghz, and watch videos for about 1.5 hours daily, gaming for half an hour, wifi constantly on, browsing for an hour, and can get 1 day out of it easily.

I'm using the 110819-nightly and I'm very happy with it. No bugs or force closes...
The battery life is better than in stock froyo.

+1 for 110819 - 110814 was good too (I can't tell the difference) so either would be a good choice IMHO....

The CM7 nighties of Defy are pretty stable. If you want 2.3.5, go ahead. Flash it. I don't think you'll face any problems.

You can use the Defy Baseband Switcher (already installed with your CM7) to select your baseband

Try to wipe data/factory reset and all that then do a fresh install. Remember to backup your contacts and use appbak to save a list of your apps.... oh & I think i read something similar to your situation over at the paranoid thread a couple days ago, go check it out. there might be a solution.

Hey XDA,
i need serious help. Im running on an Paranoid Android (port of it) and Lupus CM9 version. The prob is when i turn off the phone and then i want to boot it up (2hours later) it does mess up. Before it has booted, i had to take battery out/in like 10 times. WTF? Sometimes bootlogo appeared but no quick vibrate that happens when you turn it on, sometimes no 2th vibrate (when you want to go to recovery), sometimes it rebooted after 5minutes of waiting. And because i want ICS but not dead phone with need to pull/push the battery, im asking here.
Thanks for help!

Hi,
I had the SE Arc S for 7 months now, overall a nice device, but what annoys me is the battery. I'm using CM9.1 (dunno if that's important) and at night with WiFi, mobile data, gps and data sync. off (according to batt. drain analyzer) it loses 7% (and some nights even 9%) per hour. I deleted G Maps and Beautiful widgets, but that didn't work. I installed watchdog, but that won't list all running apps (BetterBatteryStats reports A LOT more). Any idea what causes this?
Is Facebook app installed?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
no, I noticed that using a lot of battery instead I'm using Friendcaster

Had a similar problem with CM10. Never came up before, don't know why it cropped up now. Once instance, had as much as a 40% battery loss overnight. Wi-Fi off, Bluetooth off, Data off. Nothing discernible to drain the battery. Thought the kernel might be at fault, so switched kernels, yet no resolution to the issue. The battery kept winding down, as if something were sucking its life out. Reflashed the ROM, things went stable for a day or two, but then the problem resurfaced. Switched over to ICS, and the problem has, since, gone. Wouldn't want to point the finger at CM (in fact, there are many users using it without any problems), but would love to have some idea as to what the problem might've been. Was really enjoying Jelly Bean; nice and smooth. Shame this problem had to surface.
I have ICS (android 4.0.4),am considering Pac ROM, to circumvent this problem, will that help, any experience?
oow, confused here, is ICS a rom like CM9.1?
Still, wil ditching CM9.1 in favor of PacROM help you think?
ICS = ice cream sandwich, its android v4.
No idea since ive never used pacman but have you reverted to stock?

Try to reinstall the rom, but first make a backup of your apps using Titanum Backup, or flash another kernel, or change your rom.

Hi guys. I'm new there but i tried everything about it. Before i start, i wanna tell this. I tried everything and i checked few times about it. But still nothing.
I change my rom today. I was using stock ICS. And flashed Super Jelly Bean 6.0 today. But the wifi problem will kill me. its too weak even im right on modem. If im next room, there is no signal. what should i do? It's definitely about jellybean or kernel. I flashed the kernel which the rom's owner's adviced.
please, help me. cause i really like this rom and i dont wanna change it.
Did you flash the kernel inside the rom zip?
