i have searched high and low looking for an answer to this issue, but no concrete - proven - answer. Before rooting my phone i had no issue with my sms. my initial root kept me with a stock ROM so i did not imagine any problems, but that's when it started. Since then i have switched to two different ROMs and the problem still persists. I have wiped caches, switched to 3rd party sms apps - the works - and no resolution. For about two weeks, after fixing permissions, the sms ran flawlessly...now i get the error again. I am using jedi 13 master ROM right now. Can someone help me get this resolved once and for all? Thanks in advance.
You wiped caches, but did you factory reset between ROMs?

yup. i am using Jedi master 12 now. For reasons i can not fully articulate, i can not upgrade each ROM without starting fresh. Therefore i have reset the phone at least three times and the problem still persists.

All I can say is starting fresh can't hurt factory reset wipe all caches and download a pre-rooted ROM either teshxxs or Mr Robinson's no trip and on Odin

thanks, but it is clear that a factory reset alone is not the answer in this particular case. i just don't know what triggers the error. its so random and annoying.

Hi
I am new to the forum, and being the noob that I am would like to ask some help from you guys. I have been receiving multiple error messages ranging from "Unfortunatley, Camera has stopped" to android.process.media has stopped as well. I have tried installing different roms, kernels, fixing the permissions all the way to completely formatting the SD card and using Odin to install the stock ROM again. I am at a loss as to what to do, any help at all would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks for your time!

When I installed the Stock ROM again using Odin, I performed all the steps you listed above before I installed the Rom in a last ditch effort, I will try it again. Thanks for the information, but are there any other suggestions?
I had this problem using tge beats installer from the market. I had to go back to stock and reroot. Doing a factory reset help. If that fails, i noticed uninstalling the failed apps and reinstalling worked but of course doing that for stock apps isnt as easy

Just to a factory reset and then us Odin and if you are using apps that are backed up don't just redownload from play that could be the problem

I had flashed every AOSP Rom available in hopes of finding one with everything I need fully functional. Unfortunately, I had no luck. After returning to TW based Roms I cant seem to get GPS to lock on. I've flashed Slim Rom & Darth Stalker both multiple times with no luck? I've cleared cache, dalvik, and fixed permissions numerous times. I've force stopped Maps, cleared app data & cache from the application manager. I've done complete wipes of the system, internal storage, factory resets, and formatted data but still GPS continues searching for location. Any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking my last resort may be to odin back to stock, but I'm trying to avoid the hassle if possible.
I've read this before and people are stating that odin is the main option.
Have you tried using faster fix?

Ok I had purchased the ZL battery and have been using it since day 1, however today i got home around 11:25pm. i had put my phone on charge @ 3PM. I just finished my 3rd cycle for the battery so i'd figure its done charging as it indicated it was, and turn it on and now all of sudden constant bootloop out of nowhere.
What could have caused this? it was working just fine before i didn't change anything at all.
I'm Running Stock TW w/Saber Kernel. I had purchased the ZL battery a week ago and ever since no problems, nor did i flash anything at all. I've been on TW way before i even thought of buying the battery.
So what could have caused this to undergo a bootloop session.
I went into recovery and wiped dalvik and cache and still is doing a bootloop. Should i do a factory reset however i have no backup because i have been fine since and I've been on Stock TW figure this wouldn't happen.
This used to happen on my epic if I ever left the battery out too long. I always just reflashed either the rom or the kernel. Worst case scenario you just nandroid and restore data.

Try going into Advanced then format system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Then swipe to confirm and repeat this 2 more times for a total of 3 Advanced wipes
If that still doesn't help then follow the same procedure but after performing an Advanced wipe 3x go into Format Data to format your internal storage.

Seems like you already did a full stock restore. I had the same symptoms, different rom tho. Reflashing the rom without wiping allowed me to boot up normally and with all of my data is intact. FYI for next time.

I said I was on stock and had no nandroid of stock seeing how I shouldn't have needed one. But thanks for the info. I'll have to back it up today.

So I installed Skynote 4.3 Edition RC8-1 Base followed all instructions... phone starts up fine first time but once I reboot to install the update to V8.2 it just sits at the GN 2 Logo the only way to get it to fully reboot is to do a complete re-wipe and flash again. What am I doing wrong? It does not do this with any other ROM. Phone is the AT&T GN 2. PLEASE HELP ME!
Sounds like user error sorry to say.
Imho
I haven't seen or heard anything like this in that thread.:what:
And I've been there since it started...
START over full wipe of everything 3x including INTERNAL storage...
Flash Rom 8.1 base let it sit for 10 minutes. Set it up play store etc.
TRY and reboot to recovery. Wipe C/D cache, flash update 8.2 reboot.
Let it sit again for like 5 mins. Then flash what ever add on's you'll like to add in...

Im having this same issue. Ive also had this issue with another rom. Ive done every type of wipe available and it will boot once, but then on reboot it bootloops. Ive tried with and without airview.
Its nice to know I'm not the only one. I reflashed CleanROM 5.0 and no problems.

Had the same problem, never solved it, went to clean Rom
Honestly this condition is frustrating...
I went through the same issue a few months ago...but a full return to stock and re-rooting seemed to solve the issue for me ..
Mileage may vary of course ...g

Skynote has a new update and as long as you FOLLOW stated install procedures you shouldnt have any issues. Tip: using the 1click option in the skynote thread will return your device to stock from there reroot and flash your desired rom... your welcome

Between using different 4.1.2 ROM's and then wiping everything when Tweaked wigged out and f'ed up the phone with tons of popups and such, freezing and just getting sick of it... I decided to use one of the Android 4.3 FACTORY images - unroot, format EVERYTHING (I mean, EVERYTHING), and us Odin to install the factory image... the phone works fine for 2 days and with nothing on it, the thing pops up saying android.media and google play servgices has stopped working... I'm so tired of this, how do I just go completely BLANK SLATE and back to 100% factory? I thought I did that, but apparently not...
I'm not saying that you didn't, but did you try a simple reboot?
Maybe try also a factory reset.
