Q: Why am I receiving multiple error messages? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hi
I am new to the forum, and being the noob that I am would like to ask some help from you guys. I have been receiving multiple error messages ranging from "Unfortunatley, Camera has stopped" to android.process.media has stopped as well. I have tried installing different roms, kernels, fixing the permissions all the way to completely formatting the SD card and using Odin to install the stock ROM again. I am at a loss as to what to do, any help at all would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for your reply, but how would I go about doing a "clean flash"?

In recovery wipe data / factory reset if you really wanted to you could format system in recovery too

When I installed the Stock ROM again using Odin, I performed all the steps you listed above before I installed the Rom in a last ditch effort, I will try it again. Thanks for the information, but are there any other suggestions?

I had this problem using tge beats installer from the market. I had to go back to stock and reroot. Doing a factory reset help. If that fails, i noticed uninstalling the failed apps and reinstalling worked but of course doing that for stock apps isnt as easy

Just to a factory reset and then us Odin and if you are using apps that are backed up don't just redownload from play that could be the problem

[Q] Accidently OTA Updated my Rooted GNex CDMA Now it Just Bootloops

I was running AOKP Jellybean and rebooted my phone which updated the OTA Jellybean update I was unaware of (not like Verizon ever gets things done) and now it bootloops. I can access recovery, ODIN, and have tried my back ups which none of them can load /data, and have tried to simply reflash the rom, which bootloops with the roms boot animation, and have tried wiping data/cache/dalvik/battery stats and nothing worked. Is there anyway to wipe it completely and start from there, or at least get a backup working/computer-saved backup on there? It appears I can't access the phone from my computer because I last used fast charge and now the computer doesn't know it's plugged in. Am I screwed?
try to format system in cwm...and reflash your rom
good luck

I second the factory reset.
Do you have access to Fastboot? If so, why not push commands to the phone and factory reset it and start fresh?
Sorry for the late reply, it still was bootlooping after a factory reset, I just got a replacement GNex. Thanks to those who replied though.

my phone crapping..." com.android.phone has stopped" - tried everything!

Background - I rooted and installed CWM recovery through Toolkit. Realized every time I "Factory Reset" in CWM recovery it would complete wipe my internal storage. Ok so I installed TWRP using the tookit. Then installed other roms and notice EVERY rom I've installed errors right after boot-up with "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". Upgrading to latest TWRP didn't fix it.
I've tried to wipe everything. Even tried format internal storage. Flash multiple roms again and still same error.
I'm thinking it was CWM "Factory Reset" wiping all my internal storage could of messed up my internals... maybe the file format? Something else I can try?
Phone is still usable, just every time it starts up - error shows up twice. It might pop up again once in a while when i'm using it.
BTW when I was "Factory Reset" in CWM it always made my phone "Activate with sprint" again... like it was a brand new phone.
Try odining back to stock then redo root and ROM flashing and see if that helps.

no, if you ODIN back to the stock unrooted with the file from -viperboy-'s thread it will change your recovery as well.

Does this set the flash timer to ZERO so I can return to sprint?

Well reverting back to CWM fixes the process error, but it also completely wipes the device in recovery. So every time I wipe it needs to "hands-free activate" w/ sprint and lose all my internal storage. Oh well, no process errors!

[Q] Need Help Restoring Phone

Hello,
My friend has a galaxy s2 and recently his son somehow managed to get a virus on it. I have a lot of experience with rooting, flashing, and all that fun stuff. Especially with the t mobile galaxy s2 since I have one as well. He asked me If I can restore his phone back to a new rom since it was acting weird. For example, if he saves a new contact or installs or uninstalls an app, if he reboots all those changes are gone. It is as if the phone keeps rebooting to a certain time. I am guessing a virus is causing this.
So the first I thought of was to download a rom (Jedi Knight 6) and did the typical wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik, then flashed the rom with success. When I rebooted the phone, it was still the same, as if I did nothing in the recovery. I thought it may have been because I was CWM, so I installed goo manager and flashed the TWRP recovery through there. It gave me success but when I boot to recovery, it is still CWM. At this point I decided to use ODIN to restore it to the original stock rom. I followed the instructions here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1858435. First time I got a fail on ODIN, removed the battery and tried again and it gave me pass and the phone rebooted. When it did guess what? It was as if I did nothing.
I ran out of ideas. I did everything I can think of. I used the custom recovery to try to wipe everything and flash a new fresh rom but that failed. I even tried ODIN to restore it to stock but that failed as well. Is there anything else I can try? I did a lot of research but couldn't find anything, maybe someone can give me some tips?? Thank You in Advance!!
Can someone please help me?
This sounds very strange. You said even after you Odin back to stock it reverted back to what he had before you reinstall the stock ROM ? Was the phone rooted before you tried to help him?
Did you try an aosp ROM?

Yea I know its strange, and its not like I have no experience with these things. I was very suprised when that happened. Yes it was and is still rooted, Im sure because super su is on it. He is currently running JediMindTrick (ROM by ptmr3). I still dont know what to do. I will try an aosp rom, but if odin didnt do it I doubt another rom would lol.

Try wiping cache and dalvik. Then format system, data, cache using cwm. Factory reset then flash new rom using cwm or odin.

[scripts][Tools] Infamous.Super.Wipe and Infamous.Cache.Wipe for Jelly Bean 4.1.2 TW

Ok guys, these are modded versions of TDJ's tools to add the preload partition. This should allow you to wipe cache and dalvik without jacking up the symlinks. Also for you guys having issues installing a ROM, the superwipe should fix that. First flash the ROM and reboot (important), then if you are having issues flash the super wipe and then the ROM again. Reboot and you should be good.
Thanks again TDJ!!! You rock bro.
Note to other developers: Feel free to link here from your thread, just don't re-upload them please. Thanks
Everyone else: if you see these uploaded anywhere else please let me know. I have no problem with others linking to these but do not want them uploaded anywhere else. Thanks

Will work for both.
Thanks Jamison this will solve alot of headaches!
So whenever we want to wipe cache/dalvik use zip file instead of built in twrp??

If on a TMo based 4.1.2 ROM, yes.
Whats the difference between the two downloads?

One is cache/dalvik, superwipe is data/factory reset.

I used these scripts installing a ROM and I am having very serious issues. I was using Clockwork and when I rebooted I got stuck in a boot loop. I booted back into recovery but I was not getting fully back into recovery. I tried several times. I finally ODINed back to stock but I can't get the ****ing phone to boot up. It gets toa popup that says ""unfortunatley google partner setup has stopped" and then if I clear that "Google account manager has stopped", "google calender storage has stopped""unfortuantely the process com. android.phone has stopped". ****. I have tried ODIN to 3.5 stock and 4.0.3 both having similar issues.
Anyone have any idea, may have absolutley nothing to do with these scripts but any ideas would be very much appreciated.
What are you running and what are you trying to flash? Wouldn't be the scripts as they only wipe, format, align the partitions.

I was running CWM 6.0.2.9 touch and trying to flash the StockWalk ROM. I don't know if you have seen something like this before but it seems like I am totally unable to install any GAPPS even when flashing stock ROM in ODIN. I had flashed the same ROM before attempting to use the scripts, the reason was that I was unable to add my google account (may be a defect in the ROM but others are saying they have not had issue).
*when I say install GAPPS I am just refering to the ones that install on TW ROMS, I am not flashing a GAPPS file of any kind

OK so I thought I knew enough to not feel like a noob, but here I am with three questions.
First question is what is a "preload problem"?
Second question is this will only work on 4.1.2, and not 4.2.2 (CM 10.1)?
And the third question is will using the original DS wipes mess something up?
T mobiles 4.1.2 loads a preboot partition. Wiping cache with anything but these scripts also wipes these partitions. This script is modified to not do that. No preboot partition = boot loop.
Thus, if you're on anything BUT Tmobiles 4.1.2 you don't need this script and there's no advantage to using it.

[Q] Wifi won't turn on

Hi,
After I installed a custom rom i decided that I wanted to go back to stock 4.2.2. I installed it via odin, but now my wifi won't turn on. The whole reason I switch to a custom rom was that i wasn't receiving text messages mainly mms messages. Does anyone know a fix for this?
Thanks
Have you done a full wipe since odining back to stock? At least cache and dalvik.
