Does anyone know how to get on screen buttons on this phone? I tried edited build.prop and when I restarted my phone, it kept giving me a bunch of "System UI has stopped" errors.
Are you using a TouchWiz or AOSP rom?
I couldn't find any info about it working or not on touchwiz (but then again I've never tried). It's working fine for me on cyanogenmod nightlies.
I maybe remember someone saying something about using nova launcher instead of the stock touchwiz launcher?

I am using a TouchWiz ROM, specifically Wicked v3

I would suggest using nova or apex launcher or something other than the stock touchwiz launcher just to verify. I dont know how engrained "system ui" and touchwiz are.
I always use nova instead of the TouchWiz launcher, I wonder if it's possible to enable on screen buttons on a TouchWiz rom

Try LMT launcher, works better for me then simple onscreen buttons

You have to modify the systemui or framework-res apks in addition the the build.prop line to get it to work.

hi, does anyone know if touchwiz 4.5 works on ics? am runnin omega 3.2 ics rom now and i really want touchwiz 4.5 thanks

I was using Omega but the Go Launcher was awesome, I have now moved to Resurrection Rom 9.6 unfortunately its a full wipe ROM but it works amazingly with the NOVA Launcher. I find the Touchwiz ok but NOVA gives a better experience in ICS
I tried to use it on resurrection 9.6..I doesn't work...I liked Nova launcher but it has very limited options and I don't like the black back ground in application drawer... two was simple and yet configurable and I liked the slightly transparent background and the bounce effect in application drawer and home screen which could be configured..again this feature is missing in Nova launcher...I feel Nova launcher has very limited options

I apologize if this already exists, but I've searched with no luck. I'm using JOVY S3 DarthStalker V8 rom but not a fan of the 5x5 app drawer. Where can I find a mod that will allow me change the 5x5 to 4x5 app drawer? I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691957 but it seems to be geared toward a more advanced user than I am. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I really like this rom and don't want to uninstall to go back to stock. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You could always use a different launcher like apex or nova. Basically for the mod you linked above, all you have to do is just replace your current one with the modded one through root explorer.

I tried doing that through Rom Manager but the entire phone froze. I had to do a battery pull and re-install the ROM. I've been reluctant to try other launchers, but I'll give it a try. Thank for the imput
I've been searching and unable to come up with the answer.
I love the AOKP roms but miss my S-Pen functionality. The only thing I think is missing from stock based roms that I would miss is the tablet style menus (like in the screen shot from JellyBAM).
Is there a touchwiz rom/app/mod I can install to achieve the look in the screen shot on a stock/touchwiz based rom?
+1 I love paranoid android ROMs customizations but I need my spen

Yes I can use mine in limited capabilities with certain apps, however one big thing I miss is the S-Planner. I absolutely hate stock Google Calendar and I haven't found another app that matches it on AOKP.
Still doesn't answer my question though of the tablet ui menu's and what mod/app etc is needed to mimic it on a touchwiz.

I've seen this ROM and I'm not interested in my phone being in landscape 100% of the time.
It's not just landscape.

For your setting menu to look like your pic above, then all you need is exposed installer too change the dpi in the setting Ui. That's n how I got the dual panel look..

Hi everyone , I was wondering if there was already a rom available that is bare bones stripped down touchwiz ? I looked all over the development forum and couldn't find one. If a rom developer wouldn't mind make a rom like this that would be awesome and much appreciated. And if you could add phablet or tablet dpi that would be awesome too. Thank you and don't forget to leave a link for men to donate.

Well just a couple things.
You can flash a bare stock ROM and change the DPI yourself with ROM Toolbox, but the Touchwiz launcher home gets really small, you would have to use Nova or Apex to have your home screen normal sized with a tablet DPI.

Where can in find this bare stock ROM, would really like the absolute most stripped down stock ROM I could find? Yes thank you I known I can change DPI thru multiple applications and I've noticed when changing DPI in stock touchwiz ROMs that the launcher gets a lil weird , that's why I was wondering if there was a way to get the tw launcher at a different DPI that didn't make it wonky. I have nova launcher right now. But thanks for you response.

Does anyone know of a launcher out there that would enable the ability to employ some aspects of or even widgets within the touchwiz launcher?

I assume he means widgets specific to Touchwiz like Accuweather and a few others. Although Accuweather does now have one on the Play Store, just not as nice as the Touchwiz version. There are a couple of others that disappear from your widget list switching from Touchwiz to say Nova or Apex.

It is not the launcher that causes you to lose those, it is the ROM. You need to stick with a Touchwiz ROM, or find a developer to port the camera to AOSP removing all touchwiz dependencies or find a camera add on from Play that is close. But what launcher you use has no bearing on those things.
