hi, does anyone know if touchwiz 4.5 works on ics? am runnin omega 3.2 ics rom now and i really want touchwiz 4.5 thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I was using Omega but the Go Launcher was awesome, I have now moved to Resurrection Rom 9.6 unfortunately its a full wipe ROM but it works amazingly with the NOVA Launcher. I find the Touchwiz ok but NOVA gives a better experience in ICS
I tried to use it on resurrection 9.6..I doesn't work...I liked Nova launcher but it has very limited options and I don't like the black back ground in application drawer... two was simple and yet configurable and I liked the slightly transparent background and the bounce effect in application drawer and home screen which could be configured..again this feature is missing in Nova launcher...I feel Nova launcher has very limited options

thats exactly why a dont like nova launcher to mate. the app drawer in touchwiz is better. hopefully someone will fix it to make it compatable

I agree, go launcher is awesome very customizable. and if you want widgets get color widgets in the market for facebook, contacts etc.
Im using the ADW with the ICS icons.
This is a massive bit of personal opinion war waiting to happen. Personally, I've used lpp for awhile now and have tried the others but never been really satisfied.

Launcher Pro Plus! Great Widgets...

Try the sony ericsson 4 corner launcher. I use that one.
I'm using regina. Give it a shot.
I really like Launcher Pro's option to hide apps from the drawer but like options from other launchers. Is there any other launcher that can hide apps?
Getting ready to try Lpp now. Thanks for the replies.

GO launcher is the first I've tried, but I really like it. It's very customizable.
I still have to try out the others... But I've decided that landscape and slick animated transitions are must-have features for me after using GO launcher.

I was a long time user of Launcher Pro but recently switched to go launcher. It really can do everything LPP can do and more. Widgets are.... different.... I don't think one has a widget advantage on the other but I'm sure many will disagree with me. Go launcher has plently of easy to assemble custom themes where launcher pro you really have to change things manually. Go launcher lets you do that also. I felt Launcher pro ran smoother on my evo4g but on my gsII go launcher runs awesome
sorry Zeam launcher is the best in my opinion, very sleek and it has just enough options to make it great.

Hmm, maybe if there's enough demand, someone can try customizing the launcher similar to what fr0gg4r or someone did to the TW 4.0 launcher around a year ago.
Ill just stick with my touch nova wiz launcher for now
The only thing keeping me form using it as a daily driver is that u can't choose the home screen
Once that is fixed I probably will start using it again

What does everyone use for launchers? Any one have a good minimalistic theme? I'm running xylon11

Only "stock" launcher I use on GNex
I really really like nova. I know some have mixed opinions about it but it serves Me well. Also I just started making custom wallpapers for xylon . I go pretty minimal. One screen and folders with circle click widget and Bob click and nice wallpaper. That's about all I can say on that topic.

I use Nova Launcher Prime. the customization level is very high and I like a lot the gesture function toghether with the ROM actions ..
Maybe the negative thing is the ram occupation.
I'm using silky smooth Xperia launcher. But usually ADW Ex. It is amazing. He just updated maybe 2 months ago. Very tablety.

Zeam launcher is light
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app
For GB zeam launcher is smoothest and very low RAM consume.,
But for ICS i think Nova launcher is best, costumizable, and smooth
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I'd say vire launcher. Cool transitions and works good on lower ram devices. Smooth on my g1
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
smoothest one ive ever tried is launcher 8 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lx.launcher8&hl=en its fast and simple but won't b interesting unless ur into windows phone 8 style
Lightning Launcher
The installer size is only 198 KiB.
If you can stand with just basic features, and you don't give a f**k with customization, then Lightning Launcher is your best choice. (Links in pep's post, just above mine). It is said that it is Super-customizable. (However when I used ssLauncher I realized a super-customizable launcher should be no grids so I can determine what's the best for my screen).
But if you give f**k to those and you want to express yourself (or just take some from MyColorScreen) then you may want to try ssLauncher, even if in an instructions he/she instructs to use any launcher.

Well, LL is super-customizable alright... you can disable its grid, you can rotate icons and widgets, you can scroll any ways (left-right but also up-down), you can use labels instead of icons, and labels/icons can open a fully-customizable "surface" not just an icon-list folder...
What it doesn't have, is slick animations.

GO Launcher is a bad choice for light launchers...
Sent from my Galaxy Wonder running CM10.1
Apex or Nova are nice and customizable. And light to although not as light as Zeam or lightning launcher.
But i think is the lightest launcher which offers a lot of customizable

I think so... Holo launcher is good.
trebuchet IS THE BEST
FTL launcher is nice! You just need a Sense 4 clock
Too much flashing! I'm blinded on my Galaxy W!
with ics or jb i would prefer apex. with all the things mentioned above, i think it's somewhere in the middle, balanced.
So far I think next launcher is the smoothest, but its lack if costumization
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I do like launcher pro. Very simple, so don't have greatest "addons" in relation with the others. Very fast as well. I did like it between all I tried
This phone is a beast! And it has many features that other phones lack. So, a particular launcher for one phone might not be best for our phone.
So, which is it? Which one are you using?
(in no particular order)
GO
Nova
Apex
ADW
Smart
Action
NEXT
None
Unsure
Other: please list which one...
If you have a strong feeling for or against one or more, please tell why. And yes, I have read that one of those named above is possibly a spyware program for a non-US entity.
I have used NEXT, Apex and Nova but I keep going back to the stock launcher. Not a ton of extra features but has always been nice and snappy for me.
I like Nova. It's smooth and has great features. It's lacking in the scrolling effects though.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
Stock launcher. Haven't felt a need to convert since it has all the features I used on other launchers. Normally I'm switching between apex and nova launcher. Holo launcher used to be in the mix as well.

Smooth, cool, rich
Nova Prime-I prefer the Vanilla Android look. It's also very responsive and lets me hide apps in the app drawer.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have the paid (Prime) version. Thanks @natienn for reminding me.

Nova Prime. I like downloadable icons packs and a vertically scrolling app drawer.

I've always used the Apex launcher but the stock is so much better with this phone.
I use the Stock Launcher. While I do own both Apex and Nova paid versions, I really like the Stock widgets and that I can change the icons to whatever I want.

Nova launcher Prime works flawlessy on this phone. Love that I can make the notification bar disappear along with shadow up top. Very customizable. Never any slowdown. I have everything set to lightning fast transitions.
