WiFi wont turn on? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey guys,
So I just flashed the latest stock MDL in odin and my wifi wont turn on now. I'm on the latest OTA but my baseband reports that I'm on the older MDB version. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean, you say have flashed the latest MDL in odin and then you say you are on the latest OTA, it cannot be both.
You are either on the latest OTA or you are on the latest official FULL Samsung MDL Jellybean v4.2.2 stock rom which you say you flashed in Odin.
So which is it?
If you are indeed on the latest OTA as you have stated then here is what needs to be done to get MDL as your baseband.
You need to Odin flash the FULL Samsung Touchwiz Jellybean MDL v4.2.2 stock rom.
After doing that you will have MDL but you will need to get yourself rooted.
Here is the link to the FULL Odin flash rom: http://k0nane.info/rom/M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB.zip
The OTA upgrade is just that an upgrade it's not the same as flashing the full official stock jellybean MDL 4.2.2 rom.

My bad. What I did was installed the mdl full base in Odin. No ota, don't know why I mentioned it. I did a full wipe in my recovery then flashed the 1.6gb tar file in Odin. It took about 4 minutes, rebooted to the compete fresh stock Rom, and I have no Wi-Fi. In settings, the baseband says I'm on mdb. When I try to toggle Wi-Fi, it just won't switch on.

Is this filename below the exact same filename that you Odin flashed?
M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_TMB_3.zip
If it's not the same filename, then download this rom from my previous post and Odin flash it and you will have MDL.
This is the file everyone has been using.

If you got it today most likely it does NOT have the newest firmware.
Check the BASEBAND in your phone and check if it ends with a MDB or a MDL.
If it ends with MDL then you have the latest Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 firmware.
There is no Odin flashable pre-rooted MDL firmware available yet.
The easiest way to gain root access is to first install Goomanager
which is a free app from the playstore.
After you install Goomanager click the menu button and select "installopenrecoveryscript" and
when it gets done doing that you will see in goomanager an option to reboot into recovery (Twrp custom touch recovery)
But unless you have Odin flashed the latest MDL firmware I suggest you do not install Goomanger yet.
If you do it prior to Odin flashing the latest MDL firmware you will just have to install goomanger again.
Once you have odin flashed the stock mdl rom and you have installed goomanager and flashed the
openrecoveryscript in goodmanager download a custom cwm/twrp flashable zip file rom and copy it
to your internal sdcard then flash it in twrp recovery, once it's flashed you will be automatically rooted.
The best custom rom available at the present time is Wicked v3, it's a Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 MDL based rom.
So the first thing to do is to Odin flash the latest MDL stock firmware.
Be sure to go into recovery and do a full wipe including factory reset, wipe system, wipe cache and dalvik cache
before Odin flash of the stock firmware.

You are RIGHT, I almost forgot.. (I did forget)
You need to flash the Odin flashable TAR file "TWRP" first, then after
the custom rom is flashed is when you should install goomanager
and then the custom rom.
Good luck with it.

[Q] 4.3 Stock for Odin?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to go back to a stock Touchwiz ROM from CyanogenMod 10.2. My only problem is, I can't Odin back to a stock from because the only Odin compatible file I have is 4.1.1 which my phone will no longer go to since my baseband was updated after trying a former 4.3 ROM.
Can anyone link me to a 4.3 ROM that I can flash in Odin? I'm asking because most of the ROM's I'm finding that are 4.3 require you to be on a TW ROM before flashing their ROM. Thanks.

This link is useless for me as it does not have a 4.3 stock rom listed in their official firmwares. They have only up to 4.1.2 which I cannot Odin back to since my baseband was already updated.

No you don't have to be on the stock rom to use that, but the bootloaders are for 4.3 so if you haven't updated yet this will update you.
You can flash any rom you want to as long as you do not mess with the bootloader you will be OK. I do not know if this work on anything besides an at&t phone using it on anything else is done so at your own risk just the same as using it.
What about the recovery? any way to get a stock recovery image?

Previously Rooted t999 Now Can't Update OTA

Hey everyone,
I previously had the UVUEMJC stock ROM from tmo. This was an OTA upgrade from 4.1.2. If I would have known about the new KNOX counter when I upgraded, I probably would not have. Now this counter is showing a '1' which voids my warranty (Check this XDA thread). Oh well, no fix thus far so I can't worry about that.
Anyway, I've recently flashed with the sammobile latest 4.3 ROM. When I attempt to check for a software update, it takes forever and finally tells me that my system was modified and I can't update. Checking the Device Status under settings, it shows it as 'Custom'. So, is there a reliable ROM that I can get that would fix the OTA upgrade procedure? Am I just screwed, for lack of a better term, and stuck with flashing to upgrade?
Currently looking at the deodexed ROM from Doc (Link to thread) to reflash my device so I can at least work on other things without KNOX being in the way.
Anyone have any suggestions if I should go for this ROM or another? Can I even restore this ability to update OTA?
Lastly, as long as I am sticking with a 'stock-revised' ROM, will I retain all my apps, settings, and user data?
Thanks guys,
Johnathan
You can only update via ota if you are 100% full stock. If you must have this back, you have to flash the official firmware via Odin.
Check out saranhi's StockMod rom too. But if you just want stock, rooted, with no knox, flash the root66 firmware with odin. (With root66 you MIGHT get notified of an ota, but it will fail if you try to use it)

I attempted to unroot my phone via downloading the SAMMOBILE 4.3 ROM and flashing it via Odin, and that didn't work. Do I need to do something else other than flashing the ROM?
BTW, thanks for your work, etc. on this forum. Is there a deoxed ROM for the t999? If I can't get back to original, might as well get this thing as slim as possible, etc. Lastly, if I use another ROM other then a stock one, will I need to save data, reinstall apps, etc?
Thanks,
Johnathan
First, go to my firmware thread. Stickied in development and linked in my sig. You can get all firmware there and the download should be much faster.
Im not sure why odin didnt work, what firmware build are you on now, and what did you try to flash?
You can find the deodexed stock roms in development section. They're there, you just may have to dig back a few pages.
Check out saranhi's StockMod and enewmans S3RX if you want a modded stock. If you go to a cm/aosp based rom, you will have to wipe data. Not always needed when just updating, but it is recommended for best stability.

Stock 4.4.2 Bootloader?

Wanting to drop stock(latest) back onto my phone as the person buying it wants that. I want to say I remember reading I needed a newer bootloader for 4.4.2. I got my device on launch and got tired of waiting and went to CM11.
What if anything other than clearing data/cache and flashing the stock deodexed/rooted ROM would I need to do? If there is a bootloader, is it a separate odin file? or flashable .zip?

If you're on 4.3 still you will have to Odin a stock 4.3 firmware on to the phone. You can not have a custom recovery on the phone so the Odin way will also replace the custom recovery with stock recovery. Then once your phone is stock, you can then take the update to 4.4.2
If I'm not mistaken, you should download the 4.4.2 fw and Odin that on you phone as well. Even though you are Odining your new fw, the phone must be fully stock or that update will still fail.

Well I was on 4.3 stock then went to Cyanogen 4.4.2. I've now got the deodexed/rooted stock 4.4.2 from the forum here and was able to boot it using leankernel. It works and the buyer is satisfied with it. He know how to flash updated ROMs so he can change later anyway. Thanks for the response though, I was thinking noone was gonna answer.

If you want the newest/latest official stock N900T KitKat firmware why not do the following:
You need to download and Odin flash the official stock KitKat N900T NE6 firmware.
Here is the direct fast download link for it:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358537528
The above zip file also contains Odin, CF-Autoroot and TWRP 2.7.0.1 recovery.
Be sure to go into recovery before Odin flashing NE6 and do a factory data reset
and a full wipe. Optional: Then Odin flash cf-autoroot and the TWRP 2.7.0.1.
If you want more information and or instructions here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...60&postcount=2
If you want the older official stock N900T 4.4.2 NB4 KitKat rom you can
download it from: http://tekunix.com/downloads/TMB-N900TUVUCNB4-20140305155920.zip
and Odin flash it instead of the stock NE6 official N900T firmware.
Both the older and newer official Kitkat stock roms come with the required bootloaders/baseband.
Good luck!

So clear data/factory reset and clear cache in recovery. Reboot into download and flash NE6, then cf-autoroot, then TWRP? I didn't see you say exactly when to flash NE6.

Would my baseband version still be NF1 if...

Okay, so if I Odin the NF1 firmware and then reroot and install a custom recovery and then restore a nandroid backup of CM11(from NB4 baseband) would I still have NF1 baseband version or would flashing the nandroid cause a soft brick?

You can only update the modem with Odin. Flashing your nandroid zip will not affect it any which way.
I have been running CM11 for a month now, and just flashed the NF1 modem separately through Odin last night - didn't have to backup anything and I am now on the NF1 baseband.

You said download triangle away so Odin will flash correctly. You do this before flashing the modem? I am researching this since I am still on Nb4 and would like to update modem. I've never updated a modem. I'm on aosp ROM 4.4.4 Nb4 I really want NF1 but nervous about Odin

Yeah, you run triangle away, then reboot into download mode and flash just the modem file with Odin.
Piece of cake, nothing to be scared of.
