Hi. Does stock Android and Sony version support local.prop? If no, then how can I lock apps in memory? If so, then do I need root to do that?
Yes,of course you need root

I have tried so many things, and so many guides around the internet, and the bootloader should be unlocked, but its not.
If somebody know there is one working, with the latets update of Android, please send me a link

I'm not sure what you've tried exactly, but you do know that it's not necessary to unlock the bootloader to root the phone right?
Same problem on my own LT15I

I have the same problem. I think that it is due to an official upgrate for Android 4.0.4 with PCC. Even if I use other way to root the mobile I can't. It is impossible to unlook the bootloader with the official way and I currently do not find another way to do it.
I am still looking for solution. :silly:

And all the sticky thread i has read i not working either.
Its really annoying, because i REALLY want to root my phone!
But if somebody knows a lot about it, then it would be really awesome if the person would guide me through on how to do it on Skype or something similar.

Post in the right section. questions goes in to Q/A section. Read rules before posting.
Absolutely NO, locked bootloader's always stuck with the default kernel.
Technically yes. But only from official firmware ftf files and using flashtool

you'll get bootloop if you install custom kernels

is there anyone happy with stock ics on their att play? if so, does everything work 100% (wifi, text messaging, internet)?
sorry for this newbie post to the experts but would appreciate help. thanks.
Atm there's no stock ics ics firmware... Most of them are modded roms from the original ics beta or ported from other devices... But first, UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER... If it's still locked you won't be able to flash any custom kernel or Rom...
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
To install ics you need to have your bootloader unlocked. Other than that your set to go with everything else.

On Krisdees Sony ICS Beta everything works great battery life with lupus 720 p ICS +GB......unlocking your boot loader is your primary objective...IdK if your being a r800a makes things different...as I am r800i
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
R800a and R800i are the same thing, it doesn't matter which in one you have... unlock your bootloader via zergrush and i recommend you to try either the express rom or the markpython rom, both have NXT looks... if you wanna try something a little different, try de hybrid rom by krisdee...
Have to pay

As far as I know, you have to pay to have your bootloader unlocked if you have the r800at. I recommend Jinx13, I got it done in about 10 minutes.
