I have tried so many things, and so many guides around the internet, and the bootloader should be unlocked, but its not.
If somebody know there is one working, with the latets update of Android, please send me a link

I'm not sure what you've tried exactly, but you do know that it's not necessary to unlock the bootloader to root the phone right?
Same problem on my own LT15I

I have the same problem. I think that it is due to an official upgrate for Android 4.0.4 with PCC. Even if I use other way to root the mobile I can't. It is impossible to unlook the bootloader with the official way and I currently do not find another way to do it.
I am still looking for solution. :silly:

Its really annoying, because i REALLY want to root my phone!
But if somebody knows a lot about it, then it would be really awesome if the person would guide me through on how to do it on Skype or something similar.

You're not doing it right or trying to rush the process.

You could downgrade to .42 firmware using Flashtool.
But downgrade needs an unlocked bootloader right ?

Well, first of all I've read this Tutorial (How-TO and it says that if my Play has an update after November 11 I can't root it that way.
Does it that mean that I will never be able to root it? There is a way to root such models with that update?
Any advice would be aprecciated.
These are my phone specifications:
R800a
Android 2.3.3
3.0.1.A.0.145
2.6.32.9
Sim Locked
Thanks in advance for the support, and thanks to all devs who help us noobies...

I used to have an Xperia X10a and I flashed it the North American Version using flashtool and some ftf files.
Can I root it and flash it to another version using this tool and having these specifications?
I dont want to brick my phone but I want to have root access and if possible change to another build, because Telcel is pretty bad and consumes a little space in memory.
Thanks to all of you who have answered my questions and thanks again for the help.
Yea it should work for you no problem!

Do you have any tutorial taught to do these procedures?

Flashtool ftf
etc.

It's not that simple to find the right stuff for your phone (it took me a while to find the versions I wanted). First, you need to downgrade your firmware to version 4.0.2.A.0.42, you can find the right TFT file and flash it using Flashtool or use Wotanserver, then you need to use DoomLord's Rooting kit. There are plenty of tutorials and stuff on the net, just go and explore
never tried it on an arc s though, but has anyome tried using the outdated z4root app on the device while running on official ics 4.0.4?

U didn't mention what version of 4.0.4 u r using. I mean the 6.1.a.x.xx
If u don't wanna unlock bootloader then use bin4ry method but u can only root upto 6.1.a.2.50. The new firmware 6.1.a.2.55 can't be rooted using bin4ry.
If u have locked bootloader then u can root any firmware available now.
