I know this is probably beating a dead horse, but I was told by many at verizon cs that there would be an update to the nexus in February.. well its March and nothing came. The leak was about a month ago and nothing official.
Does anyone know the eta of the update? I'm not rooting just yet
Thanks everyone.

You didn't really expect to find any official information here, did you? If you did, let me stop you right there. XDA will at best have rumors.
On a side note, as long as this url is active, it could be any time.

why not root just yet? I would root now and back up with voodoo rootkeeper. It'll make it simple to regain root once the OTA soak starts.

No one at Verizon is going to be able to tell you when it is coming out. It is up to Google to drop the source for the update and push them to the Nexus phones. That being said the VZW Update may be behind the official which is a good reason to root in itself
Nope. Not yet, although I have a theory that they are just gonna give one big ass update in June at Google I/O and its going to be 4.1
Only time will tell.

4.0.4 will get skipped in favor of 4.0.5, which in turn will get skipped in favor of 4.0.6, which in turn will.. you get the point! So do all the GNex owners still stuck on 4.0.1.

There's no need to wait for the official - root your phone, and install foxhound beta 0.1 and imoseyon lean kenrel, your phone will be rock solid, no crashes and will have incredible battery life - in a day you will hardly be able to run out of it with heavy use.

If they do that then I'll be pretty disgusted. The majority of Galaxy Nexus owners are stuck on 4.0.2, where one of the main selling points of the device - NFC - hasn't worked correctly since the phone was released four months ago.

I don't particularly like this thinking. Maybe some of you buy a Nexus to root it, but I buy a Nexus for the exact opposite. I buy a Nexus so that I never have to root or tamper with my device, and so that I will get updates directly from Google carrying the latest bugfixes. Afterall, the phone is advertised as being 'Simple. Beautiful. Beyond smart' as well as being 'pure Google'.

I'm pretty sure the Verizon version has 4.0.3, so yes, your NFC will work fine. However, the latest version for GSM is 4.0.2, where it's not possible to write to a non-formatted NFC tag.

What do you think about this?
Some users are receiving a special update for resolve lost signal issues... or so they say ...
http://www.htcmania.com/showpost.php?p=4376163&postcount=69
would be nice if it is true
Could be legit, the kernel version is newer, but some people do have too much time on their hands so it could be fake.
Time will tell I guess.
Gonna call bull**** until I hear more about this.
I think it´s real...
I hope its real. My phone doesn't have the sleep bug with signal loss but I noticed twice now that for no reason when the phone is charging, the reception bars go grey and take about five mins to become active again. Might just be an unstable radio even though I'm using XXLA2. Might try out UGLC1 tonight
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
This happens all the time, this is not a "secret update" is a testing build, they have to test solutions in real scenarios with people that is experiencing the problem with controlled results, check the Transformer Prime forums here at XDA and you will see that ASUS contacted users via PM to ask them to test a new build that would fix some issues before release it to general use, Motorola does this also at their support forums and I'm sure a lot of more companies. So, this is just an indicator that google is working on it and in my opinion is that users on which they have trusted should not share it, because that will cause for us no to be trusted again..
That is my opinion
I'd imagine it's legit. I guess we'll find out...

I've been away for a bit and was wondering if the VZW CDMA 4.0.4 was ever released. I see reports that the GSM release fixed the dropped data for several people and I would like to see that come to CDMA. Unfortunately the leaked 4.0.4 still drops data for me
Nope.
No. Officially VZW is on 4.0.2 still. There were some rumors a month ago that VZW would be getting 4.0.5 in early April but nothing ever came of the rumor.
Supposedly our next update (VZW GNexus) is going to be 4.0.5 which should fix the radio issues and improve dock performance so that Samsung can finally release a dock for the VZW GNexus. When all of this will happen? Nobody knows. Probably 2015 at this rate >.>

I agree, I am running BAMF and love it. The rom isn't the problem though, the radio is. No matter what combination of ROM/Radio I constantly get data drops if I leave LTE enabled. If I just run on 3G everything is fine.

Dear OP, I finally gave in last month and started to get refurbished devices.
And now, I have absolutely no complaints other than half pink / half green tints on the screen
But even with stock 4.0.2 no LTE drops what so ever. Even one-way microphone issue is somewhat resolved as I haven't experienced any yet..

OK so everyone.. my galaxy nexus is scaring me.. my phone completely broke off with signal last night (had no connection what so ever. Resetted, battery removed and all troubleshooting) had to completely factory data resetted. Somewhat working now.. signal connection is weak, battery icon says its charging when not on charge, volume up button not working right, battery dying awhole ton faster.
I'm going nuts over this..
Help me.. should I flash a rom and root it? Or should I send it in and get a certified like new "phone" <whatever that is.

Galaxy Nexus AOKP m5 Franco kernel m3
Hey guys
So I bought this phone on Craigslist so I cannot have it replaced by verizon. When I got it I did a full wipe and reset. Then I installed franco's kernal and am currently running bugless beast with job 4.1.1.. The issue is that my signal is constantly disappearing or just poor in general.
I found a method that was supposed to fix this problem by raising the minimum CPU to 700mhz. But this did nothing.
Will installing a new radio help? If so which one do you recommend? Or am I just screwed?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I have found that using the stock 4.0.2 radios has helped me a lot. They have given me a 70% improvement in dropped signal and poor audio quality. Having said that its still way worse than any other 4g phone I have ever owned. Lol. (Bionic, revolution,Droid charge, Droid razr, rezound, thunderbolt)
PS I am on my second nexus, still does it.

If the screenshot in that article means anything, the new update still has the FC04/FC05 radios. Maybe they tweaked the stock ROM a bit for better reception, but if that's the only change then the update won't help anyone running a Jelly Bean ROM. You'd be forced to go back to stock for the better reception.

Nope the store can't do anything for you. You have to call tech support and say you have a horrible data issue. Then they will mail you a new one. Return to factory before you call that way if they ask questions regarding , build number, etc. you'll have it to read .

I've had the signal problem with both the 9 and 10. My first phone was a 10 with no problems. I have a 9 now with no problems, but had both with problems in between.
One work around I found was to switch to cdma only. Not great to not have 4g but at least data works and no dropped calls.

That's very odd cause on the 8 replacements I went through, none ever had no problems , the problems were consistent. That's odd that you had a phone with no problems and it started acting up. The 10 and 9 are made in different places from what I've been told from Verizon, and the 09 supposedly dont have the radio issue. Out of all the replacments I got, the first one (and only) to work was a 09 from Korea.
