Just got my N715, very impressed....
The problem I am getting is auto sync on my emails. I have set it to every 30 mins peak and 4 hours off peak, but itwill not automatically check for my mail I have to manually press the sync button.
If I go to Setings/ email it says under the account name "Sync disabled" I have looked everywhere to find how to enable but no luck. Went into the 3 shop and they said set up another account and see if it is the same. I set up my wifes and again it says disabled.
There other idea was a factory reset and if still the same they would return the fone, I did point out that it was only 2 days old....
Anyone an idea how to enable the sync befote I do a reset...
THANK YOU

I have a wierd issue - my corporate email is stuck getting emails upto a 1 week ago but not after that. SEndign email works fine
Anybody seen this? I even removed the entire account, rebooted, reset the account and it again downloads all email till a week ago and nothing after that
Thanks
What's your back end email server? I've been having various issues with corporate email. My company is using an old GroupWise system with some type of mailsync that allows us to connect using the Exchange protocol.
I've had issues where it works great, but doesn't download the amount of email I've asked it to sync (30days), but instead will download just a week, or two weeks. I've also had issues where it works great for a week or so, then starts chewing up battery life trying to sync constantly. Rebooting doesn't work. I have to reboot, remove account, reboot again, and re-add the account.
I initially thought it was our servers...

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my email syncing. At first, I foolishly tried to add all my email accounts at once (1 gmail, 1 yahoo, 1 hotmail, 1 livemail). Of course I set the syncing to immediately start pulling down the last 30 days worth of mail on each account. 15 mins later, still no mail. So I then set the sync to only pull in the last 7 days worth of mail- and still no mail 20 mins later. I then figured that I had probably overtaxed the sync function by trying to sync all accounts' mail at once, so I deleted each account to prepare to re-add/sync them one by one, but then I noticed this: When I tap the mail icon, it says that the mail is still "syncing" even though there are no accounts present. I haven't attempted to re-add those accounts at this point because I'm fairly certain that something is wrong and the process won't work anyway. Anybody else seen or heard of this??
I checked these threads but they didn't shed any insight on my issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616283 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501254&nocache=1
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I've noticed that after I wake up, my new emails are not showing up. When I check my email app it says "last synced yesterday at x:xx". Right now I have it set at peak hours 6am-10pm 7 days a week refreshing every hour. I have checked my email at hours after i wake up at 7 and it will update when I open it. Afterwards it will sync every hour as normal. I think this is only happening when it's trying to come back from off-peak hours (which is set to never sync).
I've tried removing all accounts and deleting all app data but to no effect. My auto sync is on for everything including under settings > data usage. One thing I have noticed is that when you go to settings > email > [my account], the "last synced" time is different than if you go into the email app and see the "last synced" time.
I cant confirm but does not seem to be happening to my gmail account.
Anyone else having this issue?
Specs:
-T-889 on 7105 international rom by teshxx, dalvik/cache wiped.
-yahoo IMAP email
-no battery savers or anything that touches auto sync
Your probably saving battery
If your Gmail isn't syncing it probably isn't draining your battery, just saying.

I do not have any problems with my gmail app..
In case anyone still has issues with this, I've found the solution. For incoming settings for yahoo mail you must use samsung.imap.mail.yahoo.com, I was only using imap.mail.yahoo.com which caused my phone (for some reason) to not sync initially when entering peak hours.
I am having a weird issue with email syncing. I have several email and exchange accounts set up with syncing scheduled for every 5 minutes (and push for the exchange accounts) with peak times disabled so that it is supposed to sync every 5 minutes 24/7. I have this exact same setup on my galaxy s3 without issue.
The problem is that 8AM and 5PM everyday syncing stops and will not continue automatic syncing unless I manually sync one time. For example, email was syncing every 5 minutes as schedule before 8AM. Now once it turns 8AM, it does not sync automatically anymore. Around 9AM, I check, and the last sync is anywhere between 7:55AM and 8:04AM. Now once I manually sync once after 8AM, the phone syncs every 5 minutes until 5PM. The same problem occurs again and the phone does not automatically sync until I do one manual sync.
I am on my home wifi network at both times (8AM and 5PM), but it occurs regardless of wifi or mobile data, and I have ensured that master sync is enabled, and under the data usage settings, auto-sync data is enabled, and restrict background data is unchecked.
I have tried restarting the phone. I also cleared all email data and cache from the application menu and deleting the cache from recovery. I then renetered all my email accounts, and the same issue occurred on the dot at 8AM.
My phone is rooted with CWM recovery, but this issue occurred before I even rooted my phone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
No one else has this issue? I find that hard to believe. I installed the Wicked ROM, and the same exact issue is occurring as in the original stock rom.
Did you try to enable peak times and under peak settings set to every 5 minutes? I don't know as I have mine manual to save battery, couldn't imagine how quick my Battery would die pushing e mail every 5 minutes

Yeah I did try enabling peak times every 5 mins but it didnt work. Battery life isnt too bad, I work nights now and it lasts the entire 12 hour shift with moderate use.
I have isolated the issue. It seems like having multiple exchange accounts causes this issue. All my exchange accounts are outlook (ie hotmail). So after I removed all of them except my primary, it is now syncing without issue. This is a serious bug that was introduced in the GS4, as my GS3 does not have this problem.
I am curious is anybody with multiple exchange accounts having or not having this issue?
I set up my exchange email account and when I select to sync all email, the phone will show updating then it will start to show the number of emails being synced over the total but it gets to around 15 and starts all over. If I leave it, it will continue to try and sync until the battery dies. If I change it to any other amount like 30 days, the phone syncs fine. If I then change it back to all, same problem as above.
Strange thing is I had the same problem on the first M8 I had but somehow was able to get it to work. I had to exchange the phone for another issue and I can't get it to sync all email on the new phone. I only have about 250 emails and I've tried changing how much of an email to sync (2k, 5k, header only, etc.).
Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?
Thanks.
