Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936 + Sphinx V4.1 - LG Nitro HD

Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936
Unofficial-Official JellyBean for P930/935/936 - N2 - with working WiFi. Just clean ROM like original from SU640.
Download: (Need minimum 630mb free size on System part )
http://dfiles.ru/files/w4gujg5ef
For information:
For JellyBean ROM for I-Project need 1Gb system size. So when you flash KDZ it will repart you eMMC.
I unpack KDZ from SU640, and repack System part.
Deleted all Operator Apps and Google Apps, remove SecurityCheck, adapt ROM for GSM, and now size of ROM ~ 630mb. And we can flash it via CWM without problem on old partition table and it working with old MODEM.
I ported new kernel 3.4 from LG F120S and SU640, adaptive it for P930.
My port Sphinx V4.1 - 4.1.2 JB for P930
Probably fix copability with different bootloaders;
Rework battery and charger drivers;
Translated to RUS/UKR
Need 646mb. free space on System part!
Download:

Will this introduce any problems if switching between the already existing ICS, CMx ROMs other than needing the corresponding gapps lite from there on out?

I would be interested in your 3.4 kernel. Do you have the source on github?

Will available on my Github later.
Who install ROM please install patch_1.zip
If you delete strings from build.prop
ro.build.target_operator=SKT
ro.build.target_country=KR
you will see new settings for GSM and it remove T Roaming Settings.

Yeah no problems here. But I did install through CWM and not ROM manager. Out of habit I install new ROMs through CWM due to issues I have had with installing new ROMs through ROM manager.

What are the advantages of the 3.4 kernel ? more compatible with JB 4.x.x ?

Thanks and keep up the good work :good:

Yeah that's all cool but the thing I am hoping to see is more stability. The 2.6.35 kernel was very stable. The 3.0.x kernel is not so stable.

Dont know about 2.6.35, but 3.0.x not stable because all using CM kernel for base. CM kernel base on CAF sources, not on LG original sources.
3.4 working very good for me. Battery life and performance on Stock 4.1 are great without any dirty tweaks and patches in kernel!

CM took the lu6200 ICS sources and added display stuff from caf.
The original lge ICS ota was unstable for all iproj devices.
I have a weak p930 that will be the judge of the new 3.4 kernel. It reboots about every 5 to 15 minutes under the ics kernel. I will try when I get sources... No sources, no install...

Can't wait to flash this once WiFi is working
I don't have unlimited data and use WiFi a lot.

Flashed this ROM. It looks very good except WIFI issue. Am now testing battery drain. Looking for WiFi fix.

I've been checking this thread every
Hour for a WiFi fix... I use this as a WiFi only device so the lackthereof is a killer right now for me... That being said if anyone has a lead on what's breaking it I would love to help find a fix for the problem. Really never thought we would see a jb release for our device from LG but I believe it will be a major stepping stone for future development of our P93x's. Once again I wanna thank miroslav and all the other great devs and tinkerers who bust their asses to make our phones into beasts, and I look forward to seeing what awesomeness will come with these recent leaks.

Others seem to be having no problems. Perhaps its something to do with gapps. I'm assuming you used full gapps. Try the mini or light version of gapps. So long as u done your full wipes I can't see any other reason. Maybe try flash ROM let it boot then go back to recovery and flash gapps.
Edit - OK so apparently light gapps just causes FC'ing I'll link to other gapps when I'm home.

Hi,
May I also post on the Pro version here? There is no seperate thread for it.
It's my first attempt on a custom rom after using stock ICS. Unfortunately, I found it to be very unstable
My first attempt was Lupus/v21, now I'm on Fusion/v22. Both seem to be highly unstable. Just using apps is normally fine, but a few things seem to provoke lockups including unlocking the screen, listening to music and using the camera.
I did a full wipe before installing (system, cache, dalvik cache, data), I even tried the permissions fix.
Otherwise it seems a great rom, perfect feature set and very fast, but the unstability makes it unusable for me

Yes u can post here also. Comparing any 4.2 ROM to STOCK ICS, stock ICS would be the winner in terms of stability. 4.1 is the best if you want JB IMO. But 4.2 and especially PAC 4.2 has a lot more features, customization amongst other things. It doesn't matter on the kernel its going to be the same. This is why FXP stopped developing after CM10 for the XPERIA 2011 line-up. It will never be 100% stable as will any 4.2 ROM for Xperia 2011.
I don't know what calls you stabillity, but 4.1 is very stable, almost as 4.0. 4.2 isn't stable specially with 3.x kernels, but 4.1 is perfect. And FXP stop the development for 2011 line becase they have to develop for a lot of devices, i think.

I said 4.1 is stable. And no they stopped because without a stable 3.x kernel it would be impossible for a stable 4.2 J. There was no 3.x kernel for 2011 device back then, but even still they knew if there was a 3.x kernel it would need a lot of work to get stable, if it even can.

(Q) Which Kernel?

Which kernel is best and most stable to use with stock ROM as I'm new to this device just seeing what other users opinions are that have been using it for some time.
Also does Odin have to be used for flashing is can it be done threw the standard procedure of going into recovery and flashing via install zip?

Most stable is the kernel by arco68 made for rooted stock roms.
Yes, some kernels can be flashed via CWM provided they are the correct format.

You're looking for stability so that's the most stable.
I'm personally using f4ktion's 1.3.6 but that version is currently only for AOSP roms. Sticking with Samsung stock roms you only have f4ktion's 1.3.0 to play with but some have reported that its features (BLN) are not working.
Vikinger Kernel is based on arcos modified stock kernel with the extra of bln-feature. Should be as stable as arcos. Never faced unstability and I am using it since release

Are you talking about his kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47893414
Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
yes
My favourite would be F4ktion's, and I spent the last week on it.
Unfortunately the wifi seems to be broken - works at first, but sooner or later (typically within a few hours) something happens, phone becomes hot, wifi can't be switched off, and everything becomes laggy.
Battery will last two-three hours once that happens and the phone will blame wifi for 90% of battery usage.
Only reboot fixes it, until it happens again.
During the last week I was experimenting with different solutions such as using stock's configuration files (the stuff under etc/firmware/wlan/prima) as well as trying to replace the prima kernel module from other kernels. Nothing helped.
(well, most of my attempts made wifi not work lol, the few that worked didn't fix the problem)
If anyone has any ideas what else to try, it would be great -- the kernel was great otherwise (after lowering minimal frequency down to 160-ish MHz battery prediction exceeded 6 days, and that's before I undervolted anything).
In the meantime I'm on Vikinger's kernel - not because I use its features but because installing it was the easiest way to get wifi working again,
Does Vikinger's custom kernel support performance control where you can change clock support etc?

No
No clock change beyond what stock has, no undervolting.
It doesn't have any interesting governors either.
like I said. It's just arcos kernel with the extra of bln support. you could have get that information from the first post of the vikinger kernel thread. all features are mentioned there

[INFO] SlimKat on E975

Hi everyone,
I've changed the focus of this thread to collect all the info and help about installing the geeb version of SlimKat on our E975.
After having SlimKat by @fusionjack on my I9100 as a daily driver and seen its smoothness and stability, I've found the geeb version of the latest SlimKat and would like to have it on our E975.
Feel free to post all that can help to make it work on our Optimus G
Thanks in advance to all that will give an hand
UPDATE
After a full wipe, all went good!
Currently running SlimKat on E975 without problems with @gearslam Ak-xGenesis Slimport-MOD kernel
Just follow the usual steps if you are coming from another rom, like me:
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe /cache
- Wipe /system
- Flash SlimKAT build
- Flash gapps package of your choice
- Optional: flash adreno update package
- Flash kernel
- Optional, but with my E975 I always do this at the end: flash SuperSU zip
- Reboot
All done!
All the sources for those too lazy to search XD
- SlimKAT builds: www.slimroms.net or @arcardinal thread HERE
- Gapps package, I prefer the micro modular one: HERE
- @gearslam kernel, the one tested, but other gee kernels may do the work anyway: HERE
- Adreno drivers april update: HERE
I think that's alla for now
Thanks to all the respective creators of kernels, rom and so on
Would also love an official SlimKat build for e975. A few devs gave it a go but couldn't fix multiple errors. The good news is that all you need to do is flash franco mod kernel after flashing geeb SlimKat
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701843
It works really well, i have not experienced any bugs

Hi everyone,
I'm a newcomer here in the E975 section, as I've floated around the I9100 for some months
Since I really like @fusionjack unofficial SaberMod SlimKat, I'd like to build one for the E975.
I've found a geeb build HERE and I would like to know if it's possible, starting from that, to port that to our E975, or if a simple gee kernel is enough.
I'm a newbie in building roms from scratch, and for that I'm googlin' a lot while BBQLinux iso is downloading
Any help, hint or advice is really appreciated
Thanks in advance for now

geeb is a cdma version of og... so after flashing the geeb rom u need to flash a gee kernel so that uget signal and data... it dont need port or anything else..u can flash any geeb rom and compatible gee kernel to get it work....what happens if you flash only geeb rom without kernel.........???? nothing happens it flashes and you would be able to boot the rom and everything will be working except fot mobile signals...if you are licky enough you may have signals also ... lol
So the steps are:
- flash geeb SlimKat rom
- flash gapps package
- flash mod kernel (franco or similar, but they must be MOD version right?)
- reboot
One last question: will the camera be recognized as a 8 mpx or will I find all my 13 mpx? XD
Thanks guys

IF YOU FLSH GEEB KERNEL U GET 8MP CAM .. IF U FLASH GEE KERNEL U GET 13MP CAM.. :good:
OK, tried the latest geeb SlimKat weekly with the slim gapps package and 2 MOD kernels, FrancoMOD and AK-Genesis by @gearslam, but at the reboot have had only fc's.
All I've wiped are /cache, /dalvik and /system, not data, to not lost all the apps installed.
Will try with a complete wipe and let you know asap

What about the camera?
On any rom based on AOSP, including SlimKat, the camera can not focus on objects that are further away 20 cm from the phone.
Generally speaking i touch to focus no matter what rom, even stock. Slim camera focus is much better than 20cm. I use several camera apps too, again irrespective of rom. Just backup current rom, give slim a whirl, if you dont like it just reinstall backup

Is it true that slimkat has the best battery life between 4.4 roms?

Back to the I9100 days, I can say from my experience that the SaberMod version by @fusionjack was the best rom regarding stability, smoothness and battery
For that reason I was so happy to see that a geeb version exists, and would like to try it even on my E975
I thought i just learned that geeb was for The e970 and gee/geehrc was for The e975 sprint and international version?

Hi everyone, using the slimkat from some weeks, all OK.
The only thing is: random touch not responding at all sometime. I have to reboot to make it work again.
Do I have to set some settings with trickstermod since I've tried ak-xgenesis and ported Francomod kernel?
@nchc and others can you give some hints?
Thanks in advance ?
I never had any issues with slim. I just got bored and eventually went back to stock. I was on an earlier build and most likely earlier kernel too . When i get home ill c what kernel i had, perhaps you could flash that to see if it improves touch issues. Have you updated to latest weekly and moded kernel?
Sent from my LG-E975 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well I'm on latest weekly 5.4 with Francomod r206, since there's no update from then for the kernel, and the issue seems to be gone for now. Maybe I was having some problems due to gearslam ak-xgenesis ported kernels?
Thanks for now
An update just to let you know that weekly 5.8 is working good with francomod kernel ? 4.4.3 is working good 'til now ?
I would like to try slim on my international e975. Which modded kernel should I download? GEE or GEEB? Can anyone please let me know??
Those for gee and with MOD in the name: francomod4gee for example ?
Another update just to say that even with gearslam's ak ported kernels it works like a charm

[GEE] Vanir 4.4.4

This is not the same rom as "Vanir" in Orig Development, becuase it's GEE based and there are the newest nightly builds, the Vanir from Orig Development is Gproj based and the last build is 4.4.2 from December 2013 - outdated and without significant featuresFirstly, all below is not my work... I just wanted to share it, because on my e975 it works like a charm
it has full of less or more tweak and features like:
- Halo, Hover, Heads Up
- Floating Mode
- Active Display
- Peek
- etc...
Here is the original thread.

I recommend Franco kernel (from faust93 thread), it's batter efficient.
But if you like check these kernels... (MiRaGe, AK and mart1x)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9EFp1W1O3f2SFVaNGg4SzVHelk&usp=sharing
If you use any of these kernels i suggest flashing this too (after flashing you have to install "Synapse" from Google Play):
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B77BTW0zStYCU0VOa3FHY2NNTjQ&usp=sharing&tid=0B77BTW0zStYCSTRIYWpZQS1nOWs
This (with Synapse app) lets you control many different hotplug version like Autohotplug, Autosmp or MSM Hotplug (I'm almost sure that Trickster Mod can't do that), also it has a lot of options to tweak your kernel.
You can also check out these drivers for better performance ( for me i think the march adreno drivers are the fastest +100 to 3d in antutu)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B77BTW0zStYCU0VOa3FHY2NNTjQ&usp=sharing&tid=0B77BTW0zStYCSTRIYWpZQS1nOWs
Just let me know which combination of kernel and drivers are working the best (the most in performance)
Enjoy
Pretty sure there's already a thread for Vanir Gee in original android development, be careful your post may be removed. Anyway, did you get the camera working properly without stretching and stuff?

Yes, there is Vanir in original android development, but it's 4.3 (stable) and 4.4.2 nighlty build from Dec 2013 - so it's outdated.
Furthermore, it's made from Gproj sources. This one is for Gee and it has daily updates/nightlies (last from 2nd Sep).
About camera there are three little bugs:
- when you turn on HDR, the camera preview is a bit stretched (but the photo is made as it should, i mean, it has bigger fov than preview).
- the camera app starts a little bit slow, you have to wait about 2 seconds.
Probably you mean aspect ratio problem (the preview is a bit vertically stretched) ? This camera doesn't have true view (true aspect ratio mode). When you change image size to 6MP , there is no problem.
If you want to have 4:3 preview (in 13MP) you have to flash PA rom, make a TB backup of camera app, then flash Vanir, and delete Vanir camera app (otherwise the PA cam won't replace the Vanir one), then restore PA cam, (don't reboot till restore or you can have some problems with cam).
It was working on Gproj roms, i haven't tried it on Gee roms, but probably you'll need Gee based PA. Hope it helps.
Just discovered that faust93 has released an experimental kernel which fixes camera bugs on gee roms if you're interested

Yes, I'm interested... (you mean using stock kk kernel camera drivers or sth?) maybe i could contact with vanir devs to impelemt it into their nightlies. Is it a zip, or some kind of terminal typing (like in volume keys trick)?

He has used stock kk kernel drivers yes, he has an experimental kernel out that works but to implement it into an existing kernel you need to patch it which i dont know how to do. Awesome news though!

About the camera,i didn't see any problems with camera (maybe you have other camera hw module) , can you record your screen?
edit: patching doesn't seem too hard, there's a program which does it if you have patch source, but if someone doesn't know C well this can be really hard
BTW
I don't even know how too anyway, i'm often dissatisfied of kernels (always there's a lack of sth), so maybe i'll try to build my own (sounds crazy).
I'm thinking about modifying franco kernel (such a great work, but no cpu & gpu oc and gpu uv) for aosp, or sth for gproj (f93 is great but no oc, solid has oc but in the end f93 has less slowdowns in games and it has faux123's hotplug & thermal).
It fixes camera stretch, improves the quality and photosphere and pano work in Google Camera. Building a kernel sounds fun

Downloadin the exp version of franco, did you noticed any bugs except vk and 13mp problem?
Vk? 13mp camera bug is ROM dependent. On dirty unicorns the official camera is 8mp but every other camera app on Google play is 13mp. Battery life is men but it might be DU. Trying vanir tonight.

VK i mean volume keys bug, when i was using DU with AK-xGenesis kernel, battery life was poor (maybe to much app wakelocks). In my opininion CM11 (with f93 gproj kernel) and "the rom posted above " (with franco ) has very good battery life.

I think its different ROMs. In Vanir the volume key bug is present, in DU its the same. In PA and TEMASEK it is not. Where did you say faust's volume key trick was?
EDIT: Found it but don't think it's compatible with Vanir.

Temasek? You mean unofficial cm? Btw, maybe it will work, just try, i noticed the volume key bug is kernel related too (it seems the VK bug is a relic from original nexus 4 version) (on Sprint OG Franco Kernel there no inverted keys ,check it out -> http://d-h.st/3kM ). Btw Vanir is mainly CM based (i've seen it somewhere but i don't remember where)
Some offtopic:
I'm not sure, but the performance is rom relative too? Some builds are slower, some faster (even if both are 4.4 roms).
I wonder why the 4.4 builds are slower than 4.3 ones. Vanir 4.3 was really ultra lighting fast, never seen such a fast rom, some roms with oc gpu & cpu were not as fast a Vanir 4.3 with f93 [email protected] stock cpu & gpu freq. What is that magical , maybe gpu driver (tried some kk adreno drivers, but there were no big effect).
Look, i've migrated from vanir 4.3 to cm11 m8 (then m9), on both roms i was using f93 kernel with the same settings, but the difference in Antutu 5.0 is about 2-3k ( on 3d test vanir works much more fluid), in games 4.3 works better too.
Hmmm... If 4.3 kernel can work without any problems on 4.4 (i mean f93 gproj), so maybe a jb 4.3 driver could be work (with some modifications) on 4.4. Probably you already know what I'm lookin for, i want as great performance as on Vanir 4.3 and ART runtime (or shortly the most power)
(It had a rom thread, but it looks more like a disscussion, LOL)

Sorry I've been busy with school but sounds good. So you aren't on a gee ROM anymore? I'm on PA gee and the volume keys bug is present but I'm working round it. By TEMASEK I mean faust93's unofficial CM yes.

Yep, just as you, i still changing rom... Vanir 4.4.4 is packed of features and pretty stable... but for the performance is the most important, gee kernels are too weak for me (or maybe it's a rom issue). I'll try the TEMASEK

remember build 15-01 is a Lollipop ROm. If you're using Jolla kernel ( gee/geeb/stock ) version, please:
- Before flash, format boot.img and format system in Advanced setting at Recovery
- Make sure your bootloader is updated to lastest Lollipop version ( mako )
- The best way to flash Lollipop Rom if you have a problem like bootloop or freezing is try to KDZ and return to stock, root and install recovery again.
