I've switched back to gingerbread for a while now and I was wondering if the two loudspeakers work at full volume on ICS and JB roms now. Last time I used cm9 and slimbean, the speakers were really quiet.
The situation you described is normal. When I used my R800x on marphyton's ics rom my speakers are louder than stock gingerbread or any other rom. But when I had my R800a my speaker than my R800x on every rom. Let me say this clearly your r800x is inferior byproudct of a negleted child.
Loud sound works as in gingerbread only in stock ics's roms... All CM's ics and jb roms have lower sound volume in spekers, but better sound quality in headphones.

The speakers with my r800x on gingerbread are plenty loud, it's just when i flash jb or ics the speakers are really quiet. I'm pretty sure it's not a personal problem.

Same here and sadly it hasn't been fixed yet. Stock gb is the only one that gives me loud speakers. There's a mod by cosmic dan for jellybean but it didn't seem to hello at all

Hello guys i have been trying a few ICS roms now but i still wondering how i can get the most stable ics experience.
The best ive got now is like 2 phone crashes a day. I am useing the Krabappel rom (KA)
Id like to have ics for the touchpad functinality in fpse.
Oh another question, is it possible to get the xperia play gamepad working with onlive on ice cream sandwich? It worked perfect on gingerbread.
Thanks for your time.
May I ask why you want ICS? Gingerbread is perfect, why upgrade to a buggy beta? Compatibility sucks on ICS.
If you care about your games, the best thing to do is stay on gb. The only stable ics roms are cm9 based with no touchpads working. Some games actually detect that you have an xperia play and show you the control schemes but the touchpads won't work.

He didn't ask about the compatibility, he asked for the most stable ics rom.
Besides, fpse will only work with ICS beta released by sony. Only ics beta has different touchpads implementation. But the beta is very slow, laggy and pissing off.

NXT v1.2 with DooMkernel. I honestly can't speak highly enough of it. If you choose it I suggest you flash the accompanying add-ons as well. Contains some kind of new Timescape layout that looks brilliant

FXP125 works much better than AokPlay for me
Aokplay is amazing, especially now with the touchpad fix. However some games don't work at all.
Try Darkforest ICS. I tried almost all of the ROMs in the past few days, and that worked the most smoothly. Anyway Gingerbread still works better, so now I'm on Gin2ICS 1.7.7. Sadly the touchpads doesn't work properly in Order and Chaos with any of the ICS ROMs.
Hey all!
Just curious, what are the current best ICS roms? Im currently on stock GINGERBREAD and ready to take the jump to ICS. I always thought CM9 was the best, but I've heard its still a little unstable and slow/laggy. What are my other options??
Thank you~

hello :cyclops:
i have the arc s lt18i.
in the beginning i flash the official sony ics release and i compare it to the samsung galaxy s1 - i9000 with custom rom (run ics).
the result is that the galaxy s1 much faster and smoother then the arc s. all the menus are much faster and the youtube app much much smoother. - the arc s is laggy and dont smooth in youtube app when i move from comments section to "other videos" section, when i scrolling in the "comment" section or "other videios" section.
i think thatthe official rom is the problem so i flashed ics jj hybrid rom.
now the phone is fast but not like the samsung galaxy s1 :crying:
the ypuyube app is very lag when i play a clip and navigate in the "comments" section, which in galaxy s1 is smooth!
as much as i know the arc s have a 1.4ghz and better specs
so what is the problem? is the samsung galaxy s1 is really better then the arc s?
thanks! :good:
Did you flash any custom kernel ? Its pretty fast for me ..

when you scrolling in the the comments of a music video on youtube the scroll is not smooth? (while the music video is playing)
p.s can ypu give me a good kernel that support jj hybrid rom?
thanks man

because i did not overclocked both of them and the galaxy s1 is much faster.

thank you guys for your comment!
Dont Forget
Dont forget that your galaxy S is using a custom rom. Considering if it were on a stock ROM performance would be better on the arc S considering that it is on 4.0.4

ok but i dont see differences at all in the arc s or the galaxy s1.. i mean the ics look and everything is exactly like the arc s jj hybrid ics.
everything is the same!!! like they both based on ics!!!
but the old galaxy s1 wins for sure

Same problem with my Xperia Arc (ICS) ..
I think Sony mess up with ICS firmware. The phone was great and game friendly with GB, with official ICS it's laggy and don't play many games. I'm with a locked bl based on the 431 firmware. I've tried some roms and finally stick with pureness 10 V6 supercharged. Games won't play, but the phone is more reponsive, with less launcher restart. But overall the phone is slower than my old Desire with CM7

Unlock your bootloader , flash a custom kernel , flash a custom ROM ... Then you will see how fast it can perform...
BTW the galaxy s is probably on a custom kernel which is overclocked , running a custom supercharged ROM...

I don't want to unlocked bootloader and lost warranty and drm right And i don't think that putting a custom kernel made such a difference. But why Sony can't simply release a good rom is beyond my understanding. Why with GB i have no problem to play Angry birds and Asphalt 6 and when i upgrade to ICS, i must sometime reboot to play Angry bird because of touchscreen problem and can't play Asphalt 6 because of lack of usable memory. Maybe it's Google fault too, with ICS to big for 2011 smartphone, or bad Sony rom, but the result is here, unhappy customer, who are think twice before buying a sony phone in the future

Hi all!
I'm not sure if this is the write section for this kind of a question,but...
So i'd like to know if Xperia Arc is getting a new update or latest update 4.1.B.0.587 is the last one.I like ICS UI it's nice, but it sucks with most games, cam recorder doesn't work very well and battery,in other words ICS on xperia arc just sucks,so i would like to know if is sony going to do anything better for arc ICS.If not i just don't want to waste my time on looking for how to make ICS better on my arc.I know there are lots of ROM with tweeks, but even with them i can't get my games to work as they work on GB,about camera it's not a big deal, there is cyber-shot mod for ICS so that should solve it,but i need games,to get my time pass.Thanks.
Hi this is the right place.
Yes theres a new update coming to our arc/s, but we dont know when.
Actually imo the ICS is waaay better than GB. im all stock with bloatware removed/deactivated and the most important im usig the new gpu libs. This gave me avg. 5-10 more FPS. Thats a big deal. Im having the same battery performance on ICS as on GB

Hi,
I`m running the Spazedog ICS on my desire and it is really fast (appr. 2100 pts at Quadrant)
If tried JB several times and it`s always slower and laggier.
Is there a real benefit of JB?
Right now I`m using a razr i with 4.1.2.
Great phone, fast, small, well build, but without all the goodies of CM not suitable for me.
The good old desire with the big community is still hard to beat.
I used to use spazedog ICS and I now use PA 4.2.2, and its definitely faster.
Especially now that nikez has ported ion to the kernel we use, and that most active rom devs have implemented it.

Vijendrahs CM10.1 ROM, and nikez 4.2.2 evervolv are also quite popular. You can find them in the development section, usually on the first page. Both of these ROMs have implemented ion.

JB has improved the graphical performance and subsequently pride of HTC Desire. The 3d rendering is a lot better than the previous CM7 ROMs. I used to play several heavy games on CM7 but I was disappointed at the stuttering 3D performance. Then I gave a try to JB ROMs and viola! There was a huge difference in the quality.
Plus, I'm a huge fan of sound, and I've got very sensitive taste for audio quality. CM7 ROMs, even with the DSP equaliser weren't good enough, until I applied the BeatsAudio mod to JB ROMs. There was this huge difference in sound quality too.

Cool but ...
I was using VJ's CM 10.1 ROM for the past few months. It's really fast and improvements all around the OS, the multitude of customisations!
One major turn off was the random reboots. Can't have that while working, so went back to GB.
I :good: the rock solid reliability of GB.
Games are definitely slower though. Not much of a problem, since I rarely play games on my trusty 3 yr old HTC Desire.
:victory:
my desire on all JB's 4.2.2 roms is a a lot slower in user interface(also in quadrant score) than GB/ICS

That shows your blatant insensivity to sound.
Beats audio is nothing but money making marketing thing, in order to get the full affect of beats audio headphones, u have to use them on something that has the software installed, which is bs if u ask me and they just another set of over priced headphones. I used to have a pair of technics headphones, they were half the price and much better sound quality. Ur paying for the name imo

Beats headphones are widely known for their bad sound quality. Even they admitted that. As for beats audio app, it is just an adjusted equalizer, so if you have one you can control, it is even better then.
For JB roms the smoothest I've found were Nikez and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368911 it's true that gingerbread has the best speed then ICS but I get the impression that the great Devs are getting close on some new roms!
Because android 2.3.3 is very old..Use The rom of VJ 4.2.2..It is a very stable rom..
