Hey all!
Just curious, what are the current best ICS roms? Im currently on stock GINGERBREAD and ready to take the jump to ICS. I always thought CM9 was the best, but I've heard its still a little unstable and slow/laggy. What are my other options??
Thank you~

I really like the Pureness Rom by sechko check it here is faster and estable and it has the same support for touchpads as markphyton's ROM
for me CDMA user, i love my AOKPlay.., almost all stuff work
combined with Turbo Kernel, it give great experience
Yeah i was curious myself i just got a cdma r800x on order wanna gonna upgrade it when i got it never expected to see so many different rom options lol so none of ics is good for gaming? Which ones are, i dont think ill ever use phone side of device (least for now) but ill be using all game settings wifi bluetooth gps all buttons etc and pretty much everything else maybe phone down road... any good suggestions?
Markpython just posted on his thread that Sony is to use his ROM to re-create Official ICS for Play.

There's no fully working ICS rom. The best ICS roms in my opinion are Cm9 or arconium.

You'll have to wait for final ICS release from sony.
After that there will be better working roms i bet.
I think the best ones are roms based on the leaked chinese ics - but even those are not fully functional. Cell tower positioning is not working (only GPS based, which while accurate is slow), and no Facebook inside Xperia (as there's no facebook in china).

lol. i think KA13 and 14 r some good roms
IMO JJ's Hybrid V4 (ICS) It's lite and quick compared to the others. He left in the most important functions then optimized it. It's great because the Arc S specs are kinda minimum requirements for ICS.

I agree the best is ka14
the guy that makes them is hard worker
and it is so full of options (add-on(s) are useful and variable)
Final oficial Sony ICS for Arc S is out in the development section. That will probably be the best version.
I use Mooded ICS 50.5

Hi my wifes Arc S is starting to annoy her its starting to get laggy
and she has dropouts when using GPS.
She is currently on GB Rom
I am an experience android user and do understand that the best way is to
try each ROM yourself. But because it us her phone I just don't want to spend
time messing around on it and just give her something that works.
Looking for most stable ICS/GB whether it be offical stock or custom rom
no interested in overclocking
excellent battery life
excellent data/wifi/gps
doesn't have to be superfast - stability is more important
So i am looking for ROM (ICS/GB/Custom), Kernel & Baseband
most stable cum battery friendly cum good performance is Arconium series..Arconium ICS is really good..if u want to try GB then try Arconium 8 GB edition..they all are modified stock ROMs..use stock kernel for best battery life if you dont undervolt or overclock..
The all stock ICS is really good. Install it with pc companion if avalible. Boot once. Then do a backup and a repair flash to get it smooth with pc companion
As said the arconium is very good, so is the KA20 ics rom too.

My GF has the 4.0.4 ICS Stock on her ARC S. she loves it... wont let me touch it...
ICS seams to have come in leaps and bounds as far as speed / ram management goes. (long term laggyness)

Hello guys i have been trying a few ICS roms now but i still wondering how i can get the most stable ics experience.
The best ive got now is like 2 phone crashes a day. I am useing the Krabappel rom (KA)
Id like to have ics for the touchpad functinality in fpse.
Oh another question, is it possible to get the xperia play gamepad working with onlive on ice cream sandwich? It worked perfect on gingerbread.
Thanks for your time.
May I ask why you want ICS? Gingerbread is perfect, why upgrade to a buggy beta? Compatibility sucks on ICS.
If you care about your games, the best thing to do is stay on gb. The only stable ics roms are cm9 based with no touchpads working. Some games actually detect that you have an xperia play and show you the control schemes but the touchpads won't work.

He didn't ask about the compatibility, he asked for the most stable ics rom.
Besides, fpse will only work with ICS beta released by sony. Only ics beta has different touchpads implementation. But the beta is very slow, laggy and pissing off.

NXT v1.2 with DooMkernel. I honestly can't speak highly enough of it. If you choose it I suggest you flash the accompanying add-ons as well. Contains some kind of new Timescape layout that looks brilliant
First page of the dev section if you wanna look for it

FXP125 works much better than AokPlay for me
Aokplay is amazing, especially now with the touchpad fix. However some games don't work at all.
Try Darkforest ICS. I tried almost all of the ROMs in the past few days, and that worked the most smoothly. Anyway Gingerbread still works better, so now I'm on Gin2ICS 1.7.7. Sadly the touchpads doesn't work properly in Order and Chaos with any of the ICS ROMs.
Recently ive been looking for ROMs that suit my style but its hard to find them so im hoping u guys could help me.
I want it to be/have:
ICS
Smooth
Stable
Bugfree (Or nearly bugfree)
Full working touchpads and gamepad
And it will also be great if it was AOSP styled but it doesnt really matter. Got any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Try extremerom
V3 has problems with trebuchet and stuff...

OK, did a frsh install with V3 and everything is perfect, thanks!

Try tho official beta from Sony
Or
Xdark ics by xdark mario
They are both very stable and smooth with no bugs and they have full touchpads and gamepad support.
Slim. (I know it is a JB rom)
Bug free
CM Theme Manager
Touch pads work e.t.c
Smoother than all of ICS Roms
I used it on my play 4 months ago before it broke back then and I had no issues so stable.

Hmmmm.....
I wanna use slim, but people say battery life isnt so good on ICS and its worse on JB.
So im not sure...
From memory it lasted about 5 days on idle on slim ROM
And about 2-3 days on light usage 1h Day
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Ok, i might try this...
but is it more stable than extremerom or ics??

Like I said I used it last 4 months ago but never had problems/issues with it.
Ever since I got my play repaired I only used it to develop my rom.
Therefore I dont know what is in the new update recently done to Slim.
The new test version of my rom lasted me 8 days on idle.
And I have it for a year = used battery so it probably could hold longer than that.
However still speaking of Slim I really recommend it, smoothest JB ROM on our play.

Anyone know anything about express rom?
Its lookin great...
What do you need on ICS?

Hello guys, it has been a long time,
Today I finally unlocked my bootloader, I want to install a rom like ICS or JB and I would like to hear some recomendations about what are the best kernels and the best rom. I know that it comes to personal choice but since this is something new for me, it would be nice to have some advice.
Thanks!

Congratulations! Now, what model do you have, so we can better recommend roms/kernels for you. I have a CMDA phone (R800x), and I've been jumping around various Jellybean roms and kernels. I find the P.A.C rom and Lupus v8 to work best for my needs. It has a ton of features, and seems to be one of the more stable Jellybean roms. If you're wanting to dualboot with a Gingerbread rom, I know the most recent release of Turbo kernel v 3.1 does just that.
What were you looking for in a rom/kernel?

Im using the turbo kernel with slim bean on my r800x. is the pac rom any better ?
My mobile is an R800a (GSM) and what I'm looking is for something cool, stable, and battery friendly I'm not much of a hardcore gamer but I do like some games that require a really good performance and I don't really care that much about dual booting as I got bored of Gingerbread, that's why I unlocked my bootloader.

I used slim for a while, I had a few issues with it. But overall, it was a rather stable rom. I just liked the feel of P.A.C better, and I also had a weird service issue with Slim and issues with the gapps, I think. I also haven't used Turbo in a while, I might have to check it out again soon.

GSM has a lot of roms to choose from, lucky for you. What you could do, is look into running something like one of the NXT roms, which is based on 2.3.7 usually. From the looks of it, it has great performance, since it's Gingerbread, and it has the feel of Ice Cream Sandwhich. If you don't care about gaming too much, Jellybean has some great roms out there.
For both of you: The key is to try them and find which ones work best for you, because there is no best rom out there.
