[Q] How to unlock Galaxy S2X T989D on Koodo? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I have been searching for a while around these forums. Can anyone point me in the right direction when it comes to unlocking? Running Android 4.0.4 stock rom.

Okay. Now how do I flash the radios onto my device? Do I need a micro SD card?

Please go into the stickies and learn what you are doing.

I think you are going to need a custom recovery to flash the radio. Use the link that IVIorph gave you in the other thread to do that first. Like Shortbus said, you should do a lot of reading before attempting this stuff as you could brick your device.

aokp ROM with FI03 speeds?

I am looking to try out aokp but I want to know if there is one out there that gives the faster 4g speeds like the new FI03 release?

I would suggest you ask a mod (JAY or PAPA) to move this over to Q&A. For the question, I would do some research and try them out.

I don't flame. its not in my nature. Also, we all make mistakes.
I had no issues with 4g speeds on aokp several months ago. Give it a try with whatever modem is currently working best for you. Immediately before you flash aokp update your prl and profile and get a GPS lock.
Why can't you just mobile odin or flash the modem? I did on PA...runs fine.

I meant the version of Clock Work Mod which you use to flash the ROMS. You need to do some more reading if you still can't figure what is CWM..

Yup, install from zip. The software is called CWMR. Can you try flashing the covenant kernel from the dev forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1569628&d=1355715788

Just flash the jb rom and kernel. Reboot and see if you get the network. If not then revert to your ICS, until you can try again and provide logcat..

I would suggest you to stick to ICS for now, as no baseband can be quite major issue. Search the forums to find out how to provide logcat...
I would also suggest a backup of the EFS before you play anymore with flashing ROM's etc. There is a sticky in the dev threads for the same.

[Q] Looking for a guide on porting a rom

Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide or tutorial or anything telling me how i would go about porting a rom from lets say a i9300 to our phone? I have been around android for a long time and would really like to start doing this but i have no idea where to begin. I know its not the same as creating a custom rom yourself, so i am hoping this would be a good place to start for me.
Thanks!

Hey start searching for custom roms by aokp or cyanogen read abt the reviews and prefer nightlies as it is bug freed ..porting a rom is smooth due to availability of application what u gta do is 1: Search a desired rom..2: root your phone ..3: create a recovery image 4: place the zip file in your sd card (ROm) and boom flash its smooth

Mc6 radio

So I saw a suggestion to flash the mc6 radio to fix signal problems, but I have no idea what to flash, since I got so many results when I flashed it. I'm currently on PAC, so can somebody point me in the right direction?

Disable radio?
This post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40464795&highlight=mc6#post40464795
suggests flashing the T-Mobile radio and then disabling it. After flashing, I'm having trouble figuring out how to disable it.
Any help?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: NM. I found it now in Titanium. It wasn't showing up before.

New "ZaYAC_ua" ROM 98.18.78 Deodexed SD swap SafeStrap-able

Flashed it. System notifications are in Russian. Dialer is dual. Use TWRP 2.6 (not 2.5 or older). With CWMR always choose any NO on reboot as it has the same issue as his Avsi rom where install-recovery.sh is used for the a vital purpose but not for stock recovery. The Rabbit may bless us with English version soon? It activated & did not bork my radio when I restored back the his Avsi.

You can try this link -
https://disk.yandex.ua/public/?hash=t8aLMKlgF3uEOU98kKOmlXsZ8EWWfVwtXlwF7ZkZp3w=&locale=ru
This version, being based on Verizon & not Telstra may activate without issues for us. But first flashers be prepared for a borked radio & the rsd fix.
I have not even looked at the steps. Is it a twrp restore or what?
