You guys are the best!!! Without you I would be unaware of what cell phones can actually do. After a couple years of being a silent member I have decided to speak up and thank all of you.
I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff (although I'm learning C++ right now) but every question I have you guys already have the answer and it's already old news to you guys.
Once again hat's off to you all and I thank you for the past and future help that this site has given me.
Welcome to forums
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
Enjoy the great xda forum...read, flash & have fun!
I fully agree!
Thats what xda is here for
Just wanted to say Thank you to XDA just found this site while searching around and am so excited for the resources and information found here..
Thank you
Welcome
It's a fantastic resource isn't it! So many clever people here working on making our smart phones much better
True. I just semi-bricked my device and got it back up by nvflash.
great job xda, lots of street cred
Thank you so much
This forum is fantastic. I have managed to root my nook, cause my nook not to boot, fixed that, changed mods many times, again caused it not to boot, fixed it again and all while having a bunch of fun. Just so you know I am a 50 year old woman who knows very little except how to follow directions and this place is great.
I completely agree, these developers, moderators, and admins really make this site amazing! Thank you!
This certainly makes a nice change from the 'Screw you for...' and 'Why can't I post in...' threads!
As Scotsman said, there truly is an amazing array of information, resources and people here. It's absolutely mind-blowing
Take the time to have a look around, read a lot, check the marketplace etc. Even answer a few questions in Q&A for newer members if you can. All adds to the experience
Most of all, enjoy yourselves!
EDIT: Threw a few 'thanks' around to spread the love! Don't forget to do the same if you find someone's post, ROM or information useful! (this post doesn't count)
Forum is great but the restriction of 10 posts are driving me crazy!
I absolutely love xda-developers! I'm so happy a nerd friend of mine link me here a while back. Before this forum, I didn't even know cell phones were hackable! lol
XDA is always a good time! Have Fun & Happy Flashing!
Have read XDA for a while. Today finally I stand here and say "Hello" to you guys. Thank you all XDAERS! XDA is really a helpful and useful source. Cheers!
if it werent for xda...wow i dont even want to think about it
so yes...THANK YOU XDA
Thanx XDA
I managed to unbrick and unbrand my german vodafone htc trophy
Welcome to the club!
Always nice to say thank you, and I second everything already posted!
I've used XDA for ages (as the awesome source of info it is), but only just registered to post in the forum. Reckon I can annoy and help in equal measure!
Just posting so I can thank Dlev7. Thanks for wasting my time, XDA

You don't need 10 posts to press the Thanks button. Cluttering up dev threads with a "thanks" post is exactly the kind of thing devs don't like.
thank you xda, nice team, nice developers, nice roms, nice all
XDA great job on your forum I found everything I'm interested in LG GT540
okay i have to add to this post..
i must also thank xda. i have learned so much on this website and it has helped me focus on my future and what i want to do for the rest of my life.
this forum is home to so much information. this website is the bible of mobile hacking and development. and the bible is still being written. i hope the information stored here is never lost.
this really makes me think. im that guy that bought a tablet form 1992. and spent 3 months trying to find touchscreen drivers for windows 95. i had to turn to the internet archives to find it... but i found it!
10 years from now im going to find my moto droid. look back on the primitive technology that i once used every day. and remember the adventures i had with it here on this site.
i love you xda.
I'm sure this has been posted dozens of times, but a little thanks is never wasted in my opinion.
Thank you, creators of XDA, for giving me a place to ask for help and share my knowledge with fellow android enthusiasts.
Thank you, creators of XDA, for giving us a HUGE allotment for PMs in our inbox. Such forums as PBnation and NASIOC make you pay for extra inbox space. PBnation goes from 100 to 300 for $15/yr and NASIOC charges you $20 (I think) for 60 PMs (total crap) to increase to 400.
Thank you, mods, for doing what irritates the rest of us. Filtering through crap to keep this place civil. I've been a mod on many forums and there are many thanks due. Sure, half the time we "hate" you, but deep down we really don't (at least I don't).
Thank you, donators, for keeping this forum running. We are incredibly fortunate to have XDA and I feel the Android sales would decrease without this forum. "Well that's a stupid thought!" you might say, but here is my theory. Whenever I want to buy something, I research the crap out of it. What can it do, how can I modify it, what makes it tick, what are my options with x, can I change y, does this do that, can that do this, so on and so forth. If I can't find that information, I don't buy the product. I guarantee you XDA is one of the BEST, if not the greatest, sources of information for Android devices. I found all the information I needed to buy a captivate (broke my Apple addiction), atrix, inspire, infuse, and soon SGS2 all here on XDA. My mother and father do the same, all here on XDA. To me, that is tangible proof this forum pushes the Android revolution!
Thank you, you wonderful developers, for keeping the Android revolution moving. Truly, we all owe a great debt to you. Many of you work long hours for no money, AND THEN GO TO WORK! You do this for us, you do this for the "revolution", you do this because you are brilliant individuals. I've gotten the opportunity to meet some brilliant individuals in various sections of this forum, atrix, inspire, and infuse. Folks like boostnsubaru (who ports my beloved MIUI when he is allowed to ), N0ctrnl, dman3285, and MANY more have shared their expertise, as well as mistakes, and helped me become a more productive user. I'm now making my own mistakes, but now I can fix most of them! Why? Because these kind folks donate their time to help us. There is a forum out there, mainly for console game hacking, that literally hates people seeking knowledge and trying to learn. It is despicable to ask for help, and all you receive is useless insults. I'm sure some of you know the forum, I wont share the name. I mention this because XDA is quite the opposite, newcomers are treated (for the most part) with kindness and it is fantastic.
Thank you for reading this. I know its lengthy, and somewhat stupid, but I felt it necessary to post my thoughts. I give thanks during the holiday season for my new friends on XDA. Thank you all and merry Christmas!
Thankyou sir.
Happy holidays...

Thanks for our devs for their great work, I really appreciate you hard kicking ass work.
But almost every thing is uploaded to Multiupload site which has been down for a while. So I'm kindly asking you, would you please re-upload your works on another site so we can all enjoy our phones better
Thank you
+1 I tried PMing AllGamer about this very same thing yesterday. I would think with all the influx of people from other phones and forums in recent weeks they would see the clear need for this. This particular forum is starting too expand rapidly now and we need some of the long tenured members here to take more leadership role. I myself came from the htc HD2 forums and am probably very spoiled with the well oiled machine they had.
So here is a call to members who want to organize and keep things up to date around here.
Please try to fix the links, PLEASE!
thank you!
thanks i'm aware
i'll replace the broken links when i get some free time
Just seen Venum post about giving up on keeping up with discussion threads because ppl just refuse to read. One of our great devs seems frustrated....... can't blame him.
I've been playing around with this ROM sh#t for a couple years now. This ''why don't ppl just read'' thing is just always gonna be a problem. Maybe until someone way smarter then my dumbass can create some sort of program that before your able to post a question a Page or Page numbers will pop up? IDK.... Maybe some ppl are lazy and others are just too busy.
IMO starting separate discussion threads just isn't the answer. I find myself bouncing back and forth between both threads to get info on whats going on.
Hell I'm BADLY guilty of not researching. A week after a buddy from work mentioned something about roms I posted a question in the HTC dev thread when I ran into a problem. I got flamed big time. Ya know ''Hows the battery life on this rom?'' and all that.
I had an HTC TBolt before this badass phone. In two days we lost two great devs partly because of frustration with ppl in the threads. The flaming and why don't ppl just read.
I love this hobby. Just something too eff around with when I'm bored. There is ALOT of really cool and helpful peeps in these threads. Great devs too. I've looked into theming and after I found out about all the time it involved, I thought there is no way I could do this. I appreciate the time and work these devs and themers put into giving us there awesome work.
I'm 38 yrs old with a wife and a three yr old son. Don't know if I'm wise enough to give ya'll any advise but I'm going to give it anyway. All this is a cellphone and a hobby....... someone post a question that's been asked and answered a thousand times.... so what. Help if you want, or else move on. Don't take this sh#t too seriously.
This doesn't go out to the devs, contributers, or themers......I wouldn't be able to understand your frustration with some of this stuff in these threads only because of the time you put into this.
Venum,Erick,Mijjah74,BTR,Sfhub etc. etc.
Thanks.......
/End rant
Couldn't have said it better myself! Well said man.

One of the best devs on my old phone just dropped phantom updates and almost never posted. People would mention issues or wants and a future release would often be updated with hose thigs. He would typically just update the op without even bumping the thread.
To all you devs out there hanks for your work but do it for yourself guys life it short and you deserve to have fun and enjoy what you do. I spent the last 6 years in bs jobs and finally got back to doing what I love, IT. I dont have the skills or ability in software but I'm working on my ccna right now. I can at least keep the network running for you guys in the future.
Personally, I enjoy the questions posted in my theme threads. I wouldn't ever make a discussion thread because I find it pointless. If people want to post something positive or constructive criticism in my thread, be my quest. I'm all open for ideas and opinions. I always have my own personal variants anyways.
I can understand people being unappreciative, and that can become frustrating. The devs just gotta realize that there are people like that EVERYWHERE and shouldn't let it bother them.
Amen!
Man these things fall funny sometimes lol I was commenting on the first post but didn't quote it in my response.
I'm not big on the idea of having 2 threads either. I always liked it better when it was one thread in development and everything was done inside that thread. But I also think people should read a little more and also utilize the search tool. If you go over the threads you will see the same questions asked in different ways, over and over again. I actually avoid the Hydra rom thread because of this. The devs definitely show a lot of restraint and still try their best to be helpful. Maybe once the official drops and we quit getting leaks every couple of days, things will get better. I myself definitely appreciate everything that all of the devs do in this community.

I feel that users who jumped onto the dev thread grabbing 2nd 3rd 4th post etc just for fun of it. It would be so nice if you did not grab those post and leave it to the dev or since you do have it, try to do something proactive and post relevant updates/status/bugs. Simple questions & answers. I remember on the miui.us forum Just_S did an amazing job on tackling this even before he was promoted to moderator.
Every forum on XDA is like this.
Another good reason to search through the threads is that you learn so much other good stuff that comes in handy down the road. If I had just asked a question every time I ran into trouble I wouldn't know half of what I know now. Although half of nothing is still nothing I guess!

I completely agree with this. If you take a 1st page post, do something constructive with it. Have your jokes and whatnot at first, but go back and add some value to it.
That's a great way to help the devs keep info and Q & A updated.

I don't mind people asking repetitive questions unless the answer is on the same page or in the op.

I actually agree with Overstew wholeheartedly here. What was referred to in the op was a comment I made in another thread when asked about the discussion thread I had. I'm sure my frustration showed through in my comments but that doesn't mean I want to quit or even really blast people. I wanted to use the rom thread as an actual problems thread and the discussion thread as "I love this rom" "I hate this rom" etc. So I wouldn't have to read through 30 pages of this and that to find issues.
As Overstew said and I feel the same way I enjoy the questions and I DO appreciate the feedback. Because I ACTUALLY do use the feedback good or bad to make tweaks or changes in regard to users as a whole. In hindsight its obvious the 2 thread roms are probably not a good idea. And I'll probably stop it.
Having said all that I want everyone here on the ET4G forum to know that you all have been great to me and in know way do I plan on leaving or getting so pissed off that I quit you guys. On the contrary, I appreciate all of you, and plan to be on the ET4G for the forseeable future trying to make our great phone even better... in addition please remember that we developers are human too and sometimes we may come across as being snippy or disrespectful. But in actuality we probably are having a bad day or something is not going well. Its not personal and we also try not to take things to personal. I think for those of you who know me I try to be as helpful and polite as I can be and represent XDA in the manner I would like to be treated as. And I was new once, and I haven't forgotten what it felt like to be lost or need help...
Sorry got carried away... so I'll end here by saying we have a great community here and it's because if YOU!!!

Venum our community wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for all you do and I'm glad you have the persistence to put up with us.
I've enjoyed every one of your ROMs that I've run and still hold Anakonda up as one of my very favorites.
You and your team (including that crazy themer dude ) are one of the main reasons I'll be hanging onto my phone for the foreseeable future regardless what phone comes out next.
In short terms, you guys rock!
It does look like the two thread idea is not working as well as others would expect but you must admit its a great idea. Honestly xda is for developers to show off their stuff and for us to leech or not to leech. You would assume that we should be able to follow directions. Lets be honest a developer using his free time to make your product better has asked you too simply only post problems in his thread to make it better for you and easier for him to figure out what needs to be fixed. Ask yourself is that really that hard to do.
A developer takes his time to create a beautiful OP to answer all your questions and lets you know exactly what to do to achieve greatness on your phone. Are the directions really that difficult. At what point to we let common sense jump in and go hey before I post this let me think for a sec.....
Rom posted 5:45 post at 6:00 "Hows battery life" - Seriously
Op says camera does not work post will say "Camera is buggy rom sucks" - Why
Sorry I get it why developers get angry and I understand you want people to move on but really with all that's out there to help just take a sec and use your brain...
Remember its called xda DEVELOPERS
I believe it's just fickle times right now in the e4gt forum. Only dedicated xda users know to read thoroughly before jumping in. More and more people join the Android community and a lot more of those people are migrating to custom development. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but currently you have to 'lift your right leg, whirl your finger counter-clockwise, and sing the National Anthem backwards' just to simply flash anything. While most of us are fairly coordinated, myself included , the rest of the community just want to sit back and enjoy the music. In due time, we will all settle back in again and the user that doesn't read will not have to ask any questions, cause it will go smoothly the first time. Patience is key right now. It will get better.
