Just wanted to say Thank you to XDA just found this site while searching around and am so excited for the resources and information found here..
Thank you
Welcome
It's a fantastic resource isn't it! So many clever people here working on making our smart phones much better
True. I just semi-bricked my device and got it back up by nvflash.
great job xda, lots of street cred
Thank you so much
This forum is fantastic. I have managed to root my nook, cause my nook not to boot, fixed that, changed mods many times, again caused it not to boot, fixed it again and all while having a bunch of fun. Just so you know I am a 50 year old woman who knows very little except how to follow directions and this place is great.
I completely agree, these developers, moderators, and admins really make this site amazing! Thank you!
This certainly makes a nice change from the 'Screw you for...' and 'Why can't I post in...' threads!
As Scotsman said, there truly is an amazing array of information, resources and people here. It's absolutely mind-blowing
Take the time to have a look around, read a lot, check the marketplace etc. Even answer a few questions in Q&A for newer members if you can. All adds to the experience
Most of all, enjoy yourselves!
EDIT: Threw a few 'thanks' around to spread the love! Don't forget to do the same if you find someone's post, ROM or information useful! (this post doesn't count)
Forum is great but the restriction of 10 posts are driving me crazy!
I absolutely love xda-developers! I'm so happy a nerd friend of mine link me here a while back. Before this forum, I didn't even know cell phones were hackable! lol
XDA is always a good time! Have Fun & Happy Flashing!
Have read XDA for a while. Today finally I stand here and say "Hello" to you guys. Thank you all XDAERS! XDA is really a helpful and useful source. Cheers!
if it werent for xda...wow i dont even want to think about it
so yes...THANK YOU XDA
Thanx XDA
I managed to unbrick and unbrand my german vodafone htc trophy
Welcome to the club!
Always nice to say thank you, and I second everything already posted!
I've used XDA for ages (as the awesome source of info it is), but only just registered to post in the forum. Reckon I can annoy and help in equal measure!
Just posting so I can thank Dlev7. Thanks for wasting my time, XDA

You don't need 10 posts to press the Thanks button. Cluttering up dev threads with a "thanks" post is exactly the kind of thing devs don't like.
thank you xda, nice team, nice developers, nice roms, nice all
XDA great job on your forum I found everything I'm interested in LG GT540
okay i have to add to this post..
i must also thank xda. i have learned so much on this website and it has helped me focus on my future and what i want to do for the rest of my life.
this forum is home to so much information. this website is the bible of mobile hacking and development. and the bible is still being written. i hope the information stored here is never lost.
this really makes me think. im that guy that bought a tablet form 1992. and spent 3 months trying to find touchscreen drivers for windows 95. i had to turn to the internet archives to find it... but i found it!
10 years from now im going to find my moto droid. look back on the primitive technology that i once used every day. and remember the adventures i had with it here on this site.
i love you xda.

Hi!
I am currently working on a new version of TouchXperience website where I will try to keep you frequently updated about project progress and releases. The new website is community-oriented so if you have any questions, suggestions, or if you would like to contribute in my projects, you are free to take part in forum or wiki. Support will be maintained on TouchXperience forum in the future.
As you know I don't have a lot of free time (and a free PC at the moment) to care of TouchXperience project and website, and I have limited knowledge in website content/forum/wiki management, so I would be glad if some of you were willing to help me. But I'm looking for serious/professional people, to moderate forums, to help users and post frequently asked questions,... everything you want to contribute in TouchXperience website life! The best would be if you have good knowledge in CMS, webdesign, forum/wiki management that could help me to improve website.
Thank you in advance!
ready to help

Nico
For the record I was not trying to promote the other site. I was simply trying to prevent someone from making the same mistake at work as I did. Thanks for the real address.
I'm curious... What's wrong with the XDA-Developers wiki & forums?
Why do you feel the need to split off from XDA dev to somewhere else?

Well on the last thread there were a lot of blathering jackasses that were making stupid posts *****ing at each other and *****ing about how long the development is taking which pissed everybody off and eventually got the thread closed. This seems to be the newest and only TouchXperience thread?
-P.S. Schaps, count me in to help with the new site.

That's what the triangle with the exclamation mark is made for, so one can report such posts for the moderators to take care of.

However, all this will mean is that the blathering jackasses will then be blathering on a different forum? I guess I fail to see the benefits... lol

You guys are the best!!! Without you I would be unaware of what cell phones can actually do. After a couple years of being a silent member I have decided to speak up and thank all of you.
I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff (although I'm learning C++ right now) but every question I have you guys already have the answer and it's already old news to you guys.
Once again hat's off to you all and I thank you for the past and future help that this site has given me.
Welcome to forums
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
Enjoy the great xda forum...read, flash & have fun!
I fully agree!
Thats what xda is here for
I just wanted to post a general thanks to everyone. This site has been instrumental in helping me along the way to understanding Android, my smartphone, and how its' dumbuser is attempting to change things just a little bit better. I have joined to say that, learn more, and hopefully help out others as I have been helped.
With Gratitude,

Thank you orb300, the biggest help is certainly SEARCH. I appreciate your warm welcome.

This is the place where all "dumbusers" can help make a smart users project better....and have a "funner" android.

Welcome aboard OP.
You don't have to be crazy to be a member here...but it helps
Thanks from my end!
Hi members/developers,
Just wanted to add to what stalintc said, this site is definitely one of THE best of all websites! This website has by far made my boring old HTC Touch HD into a super awesome machine capable of anything! (well not ANYTHING - but you know what i mean).
P.s. HUGE thanks to those who have worked/working on the Android stuff; Legends!

hey Welcome ;-)
Welcome I agree this is a great place with tons of great info. It has helped me get my Captivate going at least 5 or 6 times so far when I thought I had bricked it
Thanks Superchunkwii.....your step-by-step guide was awesome. I was previously rooted and on SC 2.9 w/ EC01 radio but decided to go back to stock and get the OTA programming. After that, it wouldn't let me root using the methods I had used in the past (when I came from stock 2.1 a few months ago). This method allowed me to FINALLY get back to a rooted phone so I could get back to experimenting with various ROMs. Thanks again!!

Thanks for posting this thread! Gives us new posters a place to post, so we will eventually be allowed to post on the other threads!
This is also what I going to say. The forum is great.
Hi to all XDA members,
firstly just wanna thank you guys for this great forum. without it, well my phone will be simply be a brick.
just wanted to highlight that when i read through threads and post, i see guys posting all kinds of useless stuff, or even wrong info and REQUEST for thanks...some post dangerous stuff which could end up in bricking a phone..some actually will reply a post by saying thank me if my post helped you. example below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27310617&postcount=2621
i just thought if we could add a dislike or no thanks button or something to that effect to have better control of quality on post. so that members will be careful with all this. and so taht threads dont become uneccesarily spamed with hundreds of pages of reading only to have low quality posts.
thanks guys!! thanks for everything !

In cases such as the example you gave, as long as the guy posting 'hit thanks' has actually helped the OP, I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed. I don't do that myself, but there's a reason they introduced the thanks button into these forums, so that threads weren't cluttered up by people posting 'thanks' and people really don't use the thanks button enough. IMO if you are on XDA pretty much every day, at least just browsing through your favourite ROMs and checking for updates, you should really be using all of your thanks every day.
As for the dislike button idea, I think I've read that they are testing a thumbs up/thumbs down button, and they had certainly implemented a beta in the GNex forums at some point.
hi nigel,
yup you are right. ppl should use it more often. many tend to post thanks instead of hitting the button. i 100% agree we need to use it.
its the other post that are not useful or even accurate that is posted needs to also be addressed.
thanks for sharing about the thumb down option. this will be great..
I think it is a good idea but I don't know how will it work...
Look, the devs put a lot of their time at developing their roms, I imagine some stupids to hit a dislike button just because they prefer another rom.....do you see? Do the devs have to carry negative "results" just because some are @#$%$#@@#
In the other hand, it is true, maybe due to so many members ,that there are so many useless posts in usefull threads, and that's a big problem.
If that would decrease the number of them(useless posts), I surely support it!!!
I really like to see members who want to make that community better.thanks for sharing your suggestion.

Hmmm you are right..ive seen some guys that have beef with developers here, and they might use that to give them bad rep just as an sabotage.
its going to be difficult indeed. but now that i think about, its easier to deal with annoying post, rather than idiots pissing off real developers who are contributing to the community.
im not sure if the trade off is going worth it. ive seen developers having to deal with the stupidest of questions and the laziness of readers everyday and i feel so bad for them. i always try to help answer simple stuff that i know from reading. I started this thread in hopes to help them, but it might just backfire.
Well, I've been around for a couple of months and I tought it would be the least I can do to say my thanks to every active members that are helping each others out, since I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one around who benefits for all the informations posted.
I would like to specially thank all the people of the SGH-T989 (Hercules) forum that makes roms and helps us with our phones.
Thanks!
I'm glad that you find XDA an exciting and interesting place. Same do I
Welcome to our forum.
