no need to flash stock 4.1.2 takju...just download takju 4.2 from this link - https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Put the file in "put_google_factory_image_here" folder and select option 9 on the toolkit
Yeah, if you're going to flash the stock 4.1.2 anyway, might as well skip it and flash the stock 4.2 directly

Where did you download the file from?? Not sure if this would help - but did you check the checksum/MD5?
Lots of things come to mind. Did you lock the bootloader after flashing cwm? Are you sure you're trying to flash a zip file in cwm? .img files should be flashed through fastboot while booted into bootloader. Like another said the easiest way would be to fastboot the takju 4.2 images.

Samsung Galaxy Ace II Downgrade

Hello All,
I have Samsung Galaxy Ace II. First, I have upgraded my phone to 4.1.2 jb. Then secondly, I upgraded my phone to 4.3. Now it's version is 4.4.2 kitkat. But, I see now it's really slower then 4.3. It's completely driving me crazy. And I don't know how to downgrade my phone to 4.3. I have tried lots of things but couldn't handle it. I would be really appriciated if someone can help me about downgrading 4.4.2 to 4.3.
Thank you all,
Can.
Most easy and safe way is to flash stock 3 part, 4.1.2 firm. After that flash what you want with cwm.

cwm6.zip can't mount the external SD if launched from the swipe enabled CWM for 4.4...
Use ODIN to flash the stock rom and then you can flash the 4.3 rom you want with a temp. CWM
good luck
next time, when you want to go back to kit kat again, make sure you already backup your previous non kit kat rom (either CM 10 -10.2 or JB stock) via CWM so that you can return to your previous rom from kit kat. I use this method and succesful
I'm going to sell this phone so i need to get back to stock gingerbread. Can i flash it with Odin directly from 4.4.2 maclaw kitkat that i'm on now?
Also this will unroot my phone after installing gb, right? And then the only thing left to do is reset the flash counter so the warranty is still valid.

@Rox: how do you access the built-in recovery in CM11?
(I'm having a similar issue, "assert failed" error when trying to flash canjica's cm10.1 & 10.2 or aosp4.2.2. Running maclaw cm, cwm 6.0.4.5)
That is normal recovery that comes with cm 11.
Just boot to recovery, flash temporary cwm, then cm 10.1/2

Flash your device with stock 4.1.2 via Odin and then flash a version of 4.2.2 which is prior to the 97mb update. Then you can use GENNXT or Pyramid K3 which are TW based ROMS
Kitkat based ROMs are stable upto a mark but not bug free. CM11, CosmicCM and IOS 7 Aspiration have dual SIM with small bugs.

Check Samsung updates .com
Regarding flashing via odin if its 1 file .tar file than select PDA in odin select .tar file it will use approx 1GB..tick Auto reboot F reset before see COM icon and status If connected properly it will show added then go to the download mode (POWER+VOLDOWN+HOME BUTTON) then again volume up to continue and then start flashing...
2) after flashing CWM will be removed and even root access. .

So, installing a custom ROM won't delete your contacts, but a factory wipe which is essential before installing a custom ROM will erase your contacts. So you should keep a back up for future use. I am not explaining how to do that. Also if you need to revert back to the stock ROM u use now you can create a Nandroid backup to external SD card, also just in case if u mess up with installation. Most importantly you need to backup your EFS partition. You should keep this backup for ever, because its necessary if you lose your IMEI number.
And all about keeping data after flashing, its your wish, if u want the data, keep it or delete it. And to know if the data is backed up, see the app u use to backup or check the storage to which u backup.
