Would you guys know where to change the configuration so that small data traffic icon will appear when data traffic is turned on? Currently, in my system, it only appears when data traffic goes off, showing that icon with the red mark. When I turn it on, I expected that the icon with the small green arrows would appear, but it doesn't.
The catch is that I though it was in the same XML file that you use to edit this in ICS (system\etc\customization\whatever), but it doesn't even exist in JB. I tried putting it in the same path as it is in ICS, configured in way that would show the icon, but it still doesn't. Now, does anyone know how would I bring that icon back without having to recompile anything?
Thanks.

I used to have the mt3g and when the GPS was on it would put an icon in the notification tray, and when I turned the GPS off then icon would go away.
whyyyyy in "sense" (the use of quotations was to infer irony) does the GPS icon let me know that it's NOT ON by displaying the symbol with a slash through it? it's just a waste of space up there. am i just being a moron and missing some sort of setting that changes this? does this annoy anyone else? and most importantly, is there a way to change this?

Is there a way we can make the stupid thing GO AWAY completely? We may have a 4.3in screen but i'm picky about my screen real estate
on a side note, they should have upped the resolution on this phone.
Mobile data button state doesn't show actual state is mobile data enabled or disabled.
When pressed very shortly it stays off and data icon (left of signal indicator) lit up and data is enabled. On second press data icon dissapears and data is disabled but power widget button is then lit up. This is just one cycle, if pressed again it could happen that state is corresponding to data state or not, no rules.
When pressed longer it sometimes behaves normally, but it is hard to get it how long it should be pressed, sometimes it is short and it is like I wrote above, and sometimes I trigger widget homescreen options.
It isn't functional bug but it is annoying. Any ideas for solution?
Not really
It's not a real bug. Actually my girlfriend's (not jailbreaked) iPhone does the same. When i turn data of and on it sometimes lag or does not understand the command. Have to try again, reboot.
I like to press the icon harder, firm (smth. like that). Because i keep my phone on 2G i usually switch that one as well. Usually i turn 2g> 3G wait fot the change to to happen than press the mobile data and wait. << I do this from the notification bar. You can get the 2g>3G widget from the market. It will send you to the Network setting with one click. you just have to get used to it.
With Widgetzoid you can create all kinds of toggles and indicators. Including a mobile data one.
I dont think I've used mobile data more than to test that works since I installed this a little over a week ago.
(ETA: Not using CM7 (yet), but the plain unrooted Froyo my phone came with. Don't think it matters in this case.)
Thanks bro! Widgezoid is superb! It has all I need and more.
After playing for some time with power widget I found that if state of mobile data isn't displayed correctly in widget if I for example switch GPS on or off it refreshes mobile data button so it displays right state. So it must be that it is refreshing bug on button press.
But that isn't important now when I have Widgezoid
Anyone else have this problem with the icon in the status bar of the talkback icon showing up in settings saying that it is on?
I check the settings and it is definitely off but the icon remains.
I've restarted the device and reset the icon by turning it on and back off, but eventually the icon finds itself back on randomly.
It's pissing me off.

Same problem here . Usually happens after a restart. Only way I get rid of it is by enabling it and disabling it again (though operating in Talkback mode is a bit of a work and takes a bit of understanding of how to operate...like using using two fingers to swipe the screen and double tap instead of a single tap to select an option. Hence I would not recommend my way of getting rid of the icon, unless you know what you are doing ).
Samsung should really come up with a fix of this annoying bug.
Happen to me as well until I uninstall all apps that use this method to push notifications.
I.e. go launcher notification plugin

The Wi-Fi calling feature is certainly one of the grand highlights of this phone.
It even comes with an altered status bar icon to let you know the feature is activated.
Alas, with it *also* comes an ever-present notification "Calls will be made over Wi-Fi / Tap here to access preferences" in case you didn't notice the status bar icon change.
Does anyone know how to make this zero-information notification go away?
The wifi icon in my Quick Settings bar is always grey at the moment (usually indicating the wifi is turned off). If I tap on it, it turns blue for a few seconds, then goes back to grey. If I tap and hold the icon it says that I am connected to my home wifi.
The issue also seems to affect my podcast app (PocketCasts). If I try to download a podcast it tells me that "You're not on wi-fi", and tells me that my data plan will be used. I have mobile data disabled.
I do appear to have a wifi connection, but the phone seems to be advertising the fact that it is not turned on for some reason.
Any idea how I can fix this?
I'm running build number QPN30.33.40 (I have checked, and there are no software updates available).
