I used to have the mt3g and when the GPS was on it would put an icon in the notification tray, and when I turned the GPS off then icon would go away.
whyyyyy in "sense" (the use of quotations was to infer irony) does the GPS icon let me know that it's NOT ON by displaying the symbol with a slash through it? it's just a waste of space up there. am i just being a moron and missing some sort of setting that changes this? does this annoy anyone else? and most importantly, is there a way to change this?

Is there a way we can make the stupid thing GO AWAY completely? We may have a 4.3in screen but i'm picky about my screen real estate
on a side note, they should have upped the resolution on this phone.

I have Samberg Touch X 10.1 ROM, and when i click on the top bar, notification screen pops up. I saw on other roms, that it showed how many % i have left of my battery.
Is it possible to ad it to the notifications screen? And is it possible to add shortcuts, like disconnect 3G, and turn Wlan on/off?
Hope you can help me.
Gr, Antony.
Is there nothing?
About the percentage battery left maybe you could install the driver that makes it possible, search "1% battery increment" or something like that.
About the shortcuts I think not.
You could maybe ask the same question on the thread for that ROM.
I messed something up with the dropdown task manager in the upper right hand corner. As the picture shows, something is missing, what was it and does anyone know how I can fix it?
nothing is missing. if you're talking about the icon with 3 squares with 1 having an "X" in it, that's the icon signifying the drop down list of all programs running.
Thanks for the reply..thought I was going nuts for a minute not remembering what was supposed to be there.
Tried searching for this but maybe i wasn't wording it right, but i flashed a custom ROM and now i notice every once and awhile ill see an "eye" icon pop up in my status bar just to the left of the signal bars, just for a second. Anyone know what this is? Thanks.
Smart Stay. It uses camera to quickly scan for your face to keep the display on.
Doesn't work very well in dim rooms.
Ahhhh...that what that is, and now that you mention it, i remember checking that on. Thank you, your thanks button has been touched by me :good:
I have looked everywhere and cannot find anyone with an HTC 10 that has this icon could someone please inform me what it is?
It's the icon left of the Bluetooth icon
It's your GPS icon.

Why does it have a cross through it? I haven't seen anyone else's phone with that
Means the GPS setting is either in battery saving or device only mode. The icon you are probably used to seeing is when location is set to high accuracy.
My GPS has never shown that icon no matter what mode it's in. It's always the little "map marker" type thing and only comes on when the GPS is active. I always keep mine on Battery Saving, but I just tried turning GPS off, and I didn't get that icon.
Just thinking... Is it theme related only? Could you keep all of your settings the same but switch themes? I'd be interested to see if it goes away.
i think it means that your trusted location in Smart Lock is disabled
Or, that Location is not set for High accuracy

so, i dont think this happened with stock sept security update, but with the novemember update i noticed that the screensaver "colors" shows the nav bar at the bottom of the screen once it activates.. noticed this also happens on the "photos" screensaver..
does anyone else notice this or is it just me?

then, after a few seconds.. the task switch icon diappears, but the rest of the nav bar still shows..

to add insult to injury, the navbar wasnt even being shown before the screensaver kicks in, and its kind of pointless for a screensaver to popup, and show a static navbar overtop of it, defeats the whole purpose of the screensaver.
Same thing happens to me: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/help/alternate-wake-display-t3698989

I'm still on September update (original) and same behavior persists. Google is just now learning about screen burn so I imagine it's going to take some time before they get to all places they need to fix this.

Thanks for checking Sept update.. I could have sworn the nav bar went away, oh well.. I'm sure it will be fixed sooner or later, and there are always aftermarket screensavers
