Uber sync for Facebook. Let's you use any resolution for the contact images.
Sent through the magic of an LG Optimus G (E971) running RootBox 4.2.2.
Haxsync works great too.
Automatically links your contacts to their Facebook profile and pulls hi-res images and the timeline of that contact.

Is there an app that will sync FB contact pics with my phonebook contact pics in High Quality. Tried Friendcaster and Syncmypix but the quality sucks.
Try this

Havnt used it for a while so not sure about the quality
Not exactly what I want
I too need something better than the above mentioned options. Quality is horrid.

you might as well just continue to use SyncMyPix cos even if you add a high res image, once the contact gets re-synced with google sync it will get resized back to 64x64
I don't use Google Sync though...I'm on Exchange

I have my contacts in the people app linked to their facebook profiles ,there contact pics seem very pixelated where as on my desire hd they were fine ,is there any way to alter them

Yeah i have the same problem to,i think is a HTC problem.I edited a contact and selected to take a picture. In the galery the picture looks good, but when it calls it's verry pixelated.
Did you noticed that it flickers a bit when you scroll down?
Its a common problem for all devices on ics. Google ics contact pic resolution and see the results.Google dropped the ball on this.

Using HaxSync worked great on the Galaxy Nexus because it synced high resolution contact pics from FB. I'm using it on the One X and although it syncs, the pictures are still pixelated . Dammit HTC!
this isn't a new problem is it? I had this on my old desire and google and facebook pics were pretty bad.
Isn't there any app on the playstore that has the option to view the full screen picture of the contact?I mean,on IOS when somebody calls you,the picture apears on fullscreen.I am thinking that if we use some apps we won't have this problem with the pixelated pictures because it's a custom app wright?
Maybe we should write to HTC so that they can come up with a fix for this..its really annoying..

Yeah, it's called HaxSync. Works great for Galaxy Nexus, but I tried it on the One X and the pictures are still pixelated. I think it's because of Sense.
I don't think so.After posting in this thread i tryed something.I had some old pictures taken with a Nikon camera in my PC,so i tooked a picture with my wife, put it on dropbox, after that i've downloaded that picture in my phone and set it up as picture for my wife contact. Now when she calls the picture is absoluthely amazing,i mean,no pixels involved.Could this be a size problem? The pictures that were taken with the Nikon had 4240X3680 resolution.
I also wondered, why is it so damn stupid quality... it isn't difficult to make it high res..
using Haxsync too, it's better than standard..
Go here for the best app

This app works pretty nice and it's free so why not ?

sync.me does work very well, the facebook app's contact syncing is super low res.
oddly, haxsync didn't work for me, wasn't able to login to facebook with it
I used sync.me on my iphone previously and it works perfectly well but when i used it on my note 3 and then recently on the G3, the pictures are still super low res.
Is there any option on sync.me that allows high res syncing?

i didn't change any settings and just let it run. i will say when i open contact cards for the first time the image is lower res and then in a second or two it updates it to a high res image.
I've used Ubersync since my Incredible. Not sure why Facebook still doesn't have a high res sync option. If they are worried about server usage, they could make it check less frequently to compromise some.

I thought it had synched high res photos, however after opening my contacts they are low res.... ?
Then again, some other contacts have high res so don't know.
Update: Have checked 1or 2of my contacts on Facebook and see that they have low res profile photos, so it looks like sync.me is working correctly, just that people put low res profile pics!

I tried sync.me again and it still gives me low resolution pictures. think the app hates me

Use ubersync for sure
Problem with ubersync is it doesn't allow me to custom some contact's photos. There are some that I don't want to use the Facebook profile.

Update hangouts app rolling out today.. It solves the blurry contact images on call and SMS on the watch... It has been confirmed.
I didn't get the update yet, but still uninstalling and installing the hangouts app fixes the issue
Here is the link from apkmirror for the latest update

PS... You don't have to use hangouts as default SMS app for this

no fix for blurry gmail contacts...and whatapps...i am sad panda
Same here, no fix for gmail, textra, or any of my other apps that get notifications. Maybe 2.0 will fix it
also linkedin.
I use hangouts and have updated. It's strange, the photo got less blurry, but seems just as much if not more pixelated. Could be a gmail contacts thing but not sure.

Actually I just received a text via Hangouts and the photo looked awesome! Not sure if my watch rebooted or something else "took effect" but now it looks great!

From what I can tell, it's either only Hangout messages or people with Google+ contact images that get the high resolution treatment. If you receive an SMS from someone who doesn't have a Google+ contact image (ie. you had to upload your own image, or use something like Haxsync to get an image), it's just as bad a blurry pixelated mess as it used to be.
This isn't an Android Wear issue. It depends entirely on the quality of the image used for the notification on the phone.
Just wanted to amend my reply after using it for a few days. I tested with my wife's phone and here's what I came up with:
Photos I Have:
Photo A = Google Contacts (not Google+) (I set this photo for her contact in my Google Contacts)
Photo B = Same photo but larger and not cropped, nice resolution, only on my phone
Photo C = Photo she set for Google contacts (not Google+)
And here's the behaviour on my Moto 360
When I receive a call from her - Nice, crisp high res Photo B automatically cropped down to the watch somehow
When I receive a SMS from her - Photo A, not as blurry as before update, but still very pixelated
When one of her calendar event notifications pops up - Photo B, nice crisp, auto cropped (same as phone call)
Note- I never see Photo C at all

I'll also add that folks with nice Google+ photos do show up nicely for Hangouts (non SMS) messages.

you're partially correct but everyone who has tested this issue has found the contact photo resolution is not the problem. especially when the photo appears crisp on a much larger screen.

More precisely, it's not Android Wear, but how apps communicate with Android Wear. It seems that its up to app developers to feed high resolution images to the watch, as evidenced by the fact that an update to the Hangouts app can impact the display of contact images, regardless of Android Wear version.
Problem still persists
Does anyone know how to get back the option to sync high quality photos on Cloudy G3 Rom? I installed facebook app and in the settings the "High quality res" option is gone..

Pretty sure HAXsync has an option for that, you might want to install and have a look
