This app works pretty nice and it's free so why not ?

sync.me does work very well, the facebook app's contact syncing is super low res.
oddly, haxsync didn't work for me, wasn't able to login to facebook with it

I used sync.me on my iphone previously and it works perfectly well but when i used it on my note 3 and then recently on the G3, the pictures are still super low res.
Is there any option on sync.me that allows high res syncing?

i didn't change any settings and just let it run. i will say when i open contact cards for the first time the image is lower res and then in a second or two it updates it to a high res image.

I've used Ubersync since my Incredible. Not sure why Facebook still doesn't have a high res sync option. If they are worried about server usage, they could make it check less frequently to compromise some.

I thought it had synched high res photos, however after opening my contacts they are low res.... ?
Then again, some other contacts have high res so don't know.
Update: Have checked 1or 2of my contacts on Facebook and see that they have low res profile photos, so it looks like sync.me is working correctly, just that people put low res profile pics!

I tried sync.me again and it still gives me low resolution pictures. think the app hates me

Use ubersync for sure

Problem with ubersync is it doesn't allow me to custom some contact's photos. There are some that I don't want to use the Facebook profile.

FaceBook Contact Picture Sync

Is there an app that will sync FB contact pics with my phonebook contact pics in High Quality. Tried Friendcaster and Syncmypix but the quality sucks.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20104913&postcount=12
Havnt used it for a while so not sure about the quality
Not exactly what I want
I too need something better than the above mentioned options. Quality is horrid.

you might as well just continue to use SyncMyPix cos even if you add a high res image, once the contact gets re-synced with google sync it will get resized back to 64x64
I don't use Google Sync though...I'm on Exchange

Contacts pic poor quality

I have my contacts in the people app linked to their facebook profiles ,there contact pics seem very pixelated where as on my desire hd they were fine ,is there any way to alter them
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
Yeah i have the same problem to,i think is a HTC problem.I edited a contact and selected to take a picture. In the galery the picture looks good, but when it calls it's verry pixelated.
Did you noticed that it flickers a bit when you scroll down?
Its a common problem for all devices on ics. Google ics contact pic resolution and see the results.Google dropped the ball on this.

Using HaxSync worked great on the Galaxy Nexus because it synced high resolution contact pics from FB. I'm using it on the One X and although it syncs, the pictures are still pixelated . Dammit HTC!
this isn't a new problem is it? I had this on my old desire and google and facebook pics were pretty bad.
Isn't there any app on the playstore that has the option to view the full screen picture of the contact?I mean,on IOS when somebody calls you,the picture apears on fullscreen.I am thinking that if we use some apps we won't have this problem with the pixelated pictures because it's a custom app wright?
Maybe we should write to HTC so that they can come up with a fix for this..its really annoying..

Yeah, it's called HaxSync. Works great for Galaxy Nexus, but I tried it on the One X and the pictures are still pixelated. I think it's because of Sense.
I don't think so.After posting in this thread i tryed something.I had some old pictures taken with a Nikon camera in my PC,so i tooked a picture with my wife, put it on dropbox, after that i've downloaded that picture in my phone and set it up as picture for my wife contact. Now when she calls the picture is absoluthely amazing,i mean,no pixels involved.Could this be a size problem? The pictures that were taken with the Nikon had 4240X3680 resolution.
I also wondered, why is it so damn stupid quality... it isn't difficult to make it high res..
using Haxsync too, it's better than standard..

Doesn't work on One X.

Instagram low resolution on HOX

Did anyone notice that the pictures you take when using instagram are much lower in resolution than the ones you take when using the stock camera?
Unticking the "advanced camera" option under instagram settings doesn't do much since you're gonna have to crop your picture again.
Any thoughts?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Yeah that's instagram for you, the pictures are resized to crap.
or taken in a lower resolution using their 'advanced' camera in part of the app.
Just the way it is.
That's just how Instagram works.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Images are always cropped down within instagram. Even the images you took with the stock camera you upload there. Just take a look into the instagram photo folder on your internal memory. They're all cropped down BADLY.
Thats just how Instagram works. Small images means less traffic and faster loading times. Thats why you cant watch images in full screen within the app either.
Thanks guys, I thought so.. this is getting annoying!

Damn, I wondered how they got the pictures to upload so fast!

Sorry for thread-jacking but is there any way to take pictures with Instagram and not have them uploaded? Many times I just want to make tests and it sucks that I cannot simply choose to save the files to a folder instead of uploading the pictures.
doe anyone else notice that instagram links do not open the instagram app on the HOX? For instance a tweet of the form instagr.am../asdhjd/ would give the option of opening with the instagram app on my SII but on my HOX it just gives the browser option..

Yes, just don't click upload... The pics will be saved in the instagram folder on SD

It does save the photo but it doesn´t apply the instagram effect. It also won´t let me choose the default folder or to set "never upload" as default.

Works for me. Take the photo, apply the effect(s), hit the arrows in the top right to take you to the tagging/upload screen, then just back out again. The processed photo (with effects) will be in the Instagram folder, the unprocessed photo will be in the normal camera photo folder.
Thanks. I didn´t realize it copied the photo with the effect to a different folder. All other photo apps I use automatically copy the photos to the android default photo folder.

Yea, it will copy the untouched photo to the normal photo folder, and the effect photo to the Instagram folder.

I much prefer to take pictures with the stock camera then use instagram to crop and upload, but thats just me.
yeah but wouldn't it be hard to judge how the photos should be taken because only the middle half of the photo will be cropped and uploaded onto instagram.

Contact Image quality

Hi at all.
I spent a lot of time for syncronize my phone contact with facebook, exchange, whatsapp..
So.. the default icon of my contact is default facebook pitcure, but the quality is very low.. when i receive a call, the picture on all the screen is very poor..
anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advanced..
K.
Uber sync for Facebook. Let's you use any resolution for the contact images.
Sent through the magic of an LG Optimus G (E971) running RootBox 4.2.2.
Haxsync works great too.
Automatically links your contacts to their Facebook profile and pulls hi-res images and the timeline of that contact.

Uploading photos to FB quality

Wanted to know if it is just me
WHen I upload photos to facebook using the FB app, the quality loss is horrendous. I'm talking if I re download the posted photo off of a friend's wall, it is around 100 kb, resolution of 960x540 (although the photo on my phone is 2 mb), it looks like absolute ****, pixelated, not big enough (even when full screened)
has this happened to anyone? I have tried uploading to FB right from the gallery, and uploading from the FB app, same thing
Any ideas? Thanks
ARHD 10.2, Android 4.4.3
Of course, from my PC, the same photo (uploaded to google drive, then FB) uploads fine to FB, in full quality/resolution
Doesn't that happen with all smartphone uploads? To get the full 100% quality you need to go on your computer and create an album and check the quality button.
Sent from my HTC One M8
hmm, i dont think so, maybe back in the day. It is all high quality now, if I upload right to fb from my computer (without checking high quality) it is fine. And my past phones never had this problem, it just this this. Trust me when I say the quality is terriblee in comparison
oddly enough, problem is solved if i upload from facebook.com mobile site from my google chrome app
must be the FB app then..
