Does anyone know how to get back the option to sync high quality photos on Cloudy G3 Rom? I installed facebook app and in the settings the "High quality res" option is gone..

Pretty sure HAXsync has an option for that, you might want to install and have a look

Pictures on Google Earth

Hello,
Can anyone advise if there is a way taking a picture on your camera and then having it display in something like google earth/google maps so it shows where the picture was taken from?
Cheers
yep, theres a function in the new camera for the htc (im not sure if theres just a .cab to install, yyou may have to flash a ROM) and then in the camera, theres an option for something like a location picture, along with image, video, panorama etc.

All you need to do is activate GPS photos using HD Tweak no need for the new camera

I've enabled the GPS option on the photos but how would I get these to show on Google Maps? Any ideas?

FaceBook Contact Picture Sync

Is there an app that will sync FB contact pics with my phonebook contact pics in High Quality. Tried Friendcaster and Syncmypix but the quality sucks.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20104913&postcount=12
Havnt used it for a while so not sure about the quality
Not exactly what I want
I too need something better than the above mentioned options. Quality is horrid.

you might as well just continue to use SyncMyPix cos even if you add a high res image, once the contact gets re-synced with google sync it will get resized back to 64x64
I don't use Google Sync though...I'm on Exchange

sync.me does work very well, the facebook app's contact syncing is super low res.
oddly, haxsync didn't work for me, wasn't able to login to facebook with it
I used sync.me on my iphone previously and it works perfectly well but when i used it on my note 3 and then recently on the G3, the pictures are still super low res.
Is there any option on sync.me that allows high res syncing?

i didn't change any settings and just let it run. i will say when i open contact cards for the first time the image is lower res and then in a second or two it updates it to a high res image.
I've used Ubersync since my Incredible. Not sure why Facebook still doesn't have a high res sync option. If they are worried about server usage, they could make it check less frequently to compromise some.

I thought it had synched high res photos, however after opening my contacts they are low res.... ?
Then again, some other contacts have high res so don't know.
Update: Have checked 1or 2of my contacts on Facebook and see that they have low res profile photos, so it looks like sync.me is working correctly, just that people put low res profile pics!

I tried sync.me again and it still gives me low resolution pictures. think the app hates me

Use ubersync for sure
Problem with ubersync is it doesn't allow me to custom some contact's photos. There are some that I don't want to use the Facebook profile.

Poor camera quality in apps

Recently I got Snapchat and Instagram, when I use their built in camera, the quality is severely reduced. It looks like a 5 MP camera. But using stock camera app (or any camera app) the quality is great. The problem is with apps that do more than take pictures.. Here's two photos so you get an idea. Anyone else have these issues or know a fix?
I haven't noticed any particular image quality problems on my G3 with those apps. I do know that Snapchat saves images in same resolution as your screen, so in the G3's case: 2560x1440

I don't know if you can see from the pictures, but I don't get anywhere near that, or HD for that matter. You wouldn't happen to know a fix?
Instagram reduces filesize, so, they probably do this directly from the camera app.

I'm aware all apps reduce file size, but the images I capture are no where near up to par to a decent standard. The image quality with Snapchat on my HTC M8 was great, but on the G3 it's horrible
I'm having the same problem you are. I reinstalled Snapchat and the problem was still there. I even tried a camera mod (tweaks media_profiles) to no avail. It's a frustrating problem especially when I see my friends' high quality snapchat pictures and while mine are blurry.
Solution!
I finally figured out what was causing this, it somehow just came to me. All you have to do is hide the navigation bar in Snapchat (or any other app you're experiencing this in) and viola, clear pictures! Go to settings->display->home touch buttons. Hope this helps!

So it just looked blurry on your end until you removed the nav bar and on others' phones it looked fine even before your fix?
No it would be blurry to the people I snapchatted as well. I think it has to do with the fact that snapchat captures the image as a "screenshot" of what appears on the screen rather than the raw image from the camera.

Oh my, thank you so much man! I could finally Snapchat friends without feeling embarrassed, you're the best!
It bothered me so much before. Glad I could help!
My pictures are definitely better in snapchat after hiding home buttons

Google Photo Help?

So I have tried to find the answer with no luck. How do I switch my text app, Facebook, Instagram apps to use Google photos as the default instead of Samsung photo app?
It will use both, just add a shortcut to Google Photos on your homescreen where Samsung Gallery was and use that instead
That definitely didn't solve the problem. It's just using the Samsung photo gallery, and doesn't even give me the option to make Google photos as my default.

Try setting google photos as default app for photos will do.

I am having the same issue. There's no way to change the stock Gallery app to google photos. When I had my pixel, my apps would source directly from Google Photos, and I guess I was spoiled. Even if a photo wasn't downloaded and I selected it to send, it would forward it after it downloaded.
It's a pretty dumb situation honestly with this phone. Your text app you can use the Google photo app, but anything else like , IG or Facebook you have to go into Google photos app and download it to the phone so the picture you want to post goes into the stupid Samsung gallery. I bought the app that someone had suggested to disable the Samsung gallery app and it didn't work. Also when you disable the app, it effects other apps on the phone, so you are pretty much screwed. Besides the fingerprint scanner, I think this whole, not being able to just use the Google photo app as default for everything is the next biggest ****ty thing about this phone. I still love the phone, but you pay the big bucks and you still have to deal with issues like this, when phones half the price offer these two things better. Oh well I guess?
