Extract the boot.img to your fastboot folder and the rest to /clockworkmod/backup/todaysdate
Go to fastboot and flash the boot.img and then fastboot erase cache
Go to recovery and wipe data/cache/dalvic and then go to backup and restore and restore the nandroid backup. Reboot!

Make sure there's an OTA update available for your CID or not first! The 3.20 update hasn't been rolled out for all devices yet!
One more thing, if you want to update via OTA, then you also need to flash a stock recovery for your base!

You mean something like this? com.android.process stopped working? If so, then perform a factory reset via bootloader...
OTA = Over The Air Updates for your phone... Yes, you have a fully stock ROM, but the recovery your using is a custom one! (CWM)... So you need to first flash the stock recovery!
Dowload this : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ms7vd18vb9watr8/stock recovery 3.14.img
Flash it via fastboot and then fastboot erase cache... and then wait for OTA update!

[Q] Update to 3.14.161.27 (4.1.1)

Hi there,
i dont know what to do...
I have a german htc one x from Vodafone.
I tried TWRP and CWM Recovery to install the new Update to 3.14.161.27 but i always get "Error 7" and the installation aborts.
System info:
Adroid: 4.0.4
Software: 2.17.161.4
CID: VODAP102
HBOOT: 1.12.0000
Recovery: TWRP 5.8.4.0
Can you help me and tell me how to fix my Problem.
King regards
Peter
What do you mean, are you on stock rom and tried to do the official update with the custom recovery ?
If you have 100% stock rom, stock boot.img and stock recovery you can update
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
Flash this one and try again. Keep the bootloader unlocked .... Its no problem
I tried your Recovery but it didnt worked..
I have stock rom, stock recovery (now) and i think i have stock boot.img.
if my boot.img is the prob how can i change it?
i used the Hasoon200 tool to root my phone nothing else was done
very big thanks for your help
If you are really sure you have the nandroid backup of your original stock rom the stock boot.img should be inside that nandroid backup folder !
If you made any changes to the stock rom like deleting system apps or any other bloatware then the update will also fail

this happens if a not advised person is trying to root hios phone
That's probably the problem, the other problem is that i didn't see the matching ruu on HTCruu.com and i also didn't see the nandroid backup you need in the nandroid backup collection thread.
You have an option to upgrade to jellybean ! Flash the firmware the unofficial way , your cid is supported and after flashing the firmware you have the updated hboot to flash JB roms
I give you the link in a minute
---------- Post added at 11:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:06 PM ----------
Here you can download the firmware matching your cid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
I have to check for a detailed guide, I never done this myself so I don't know to much about it
But after that you are stuck to a custom rom......
ok very big thanks, i will think about it and i will see what i do tomorrow...
but very very big thanks for the fast help... i remeber for me : "never delete system apps you idiot"
Yeah well .... To late now
Here i have the firmware flasher , you have to download the firmware in the first link i gave you and this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
Has the tool where you have to put the firmware in.
Don't ask me how this works exactly, never done this myself but read the OP of the threads really carefully !
Wohoo its working
I have found my system backup recovered it and the update works
big thanks for your help,... I would never have come to a missing system app

[Q] Restore Stock T-Mobile UK

Hello,
Due to what I am fairly certain is a hardware fault I need to downgrade and restore the T-Mobile software on my phone.
My current setup:
HTC One X
ROM: Android Revolution HD 19.2
Android: 4.1.1
Kernal: 3.1.10-g03b5369 [email protected] # 1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband: 5.1204.162.29
I don't have a nandroid backup (I know I know) so can anyone advise me on the course of action I can take?
Thanks

The 2.17.110 nandroid backup, restore that completely and check if the touchscreen works when you booted it up. I know 3.18 builds have problems with that. Not sure about the 3.16 so lets try
When it works you flash back the stock 2.17 recovery and you can update again with official ota.
If the touchscreen does not work we have to find another way
Thanks so far Mr Hofs!
Downloading the nandroid now. Will report back - where can I download that stock recovery and the OTA too just so I can prepare them?
Thanks!
Here
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
I hope the screen works
The ota is done from inside the phone's settings menu ....
Hi,
I have restored the backup and attempted to reboot and am stuck on the htc One boot streen.
I have not restored the stock recovery or relocked yet?
Any advice?
Thanks

Yeah I did! I flashed the stock recovery and then relocked.
Uhm....put the phone in the bootloader and erase cache
Fastboot erase cache
If the command fails ....unlock the bootloader. You can update with an unlocked bootloader. Do it at the very end. First we must get to JB
Unlocked the bootloader again and it seems to be doing the update now.
Once I have carried out all the available OTAs then I can relock then yes?
Thanks
Yes sir
Thats It!
Thanks again!
So its safe to say.......

Hi Every one so my problem is that i relocked my htc one x and now i have to get the correct ruu. i guess thats what i need [Europe_3.18.401.1] and i cant find it anywhere! plz if some1 can help in somehow :crying: Thank you.

oh srry my bad i ment [Europe_3.18.401.1]
That ruu is not available yet....you must unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery (if do not have it anymore) then go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
And get a 3.18 or a 3.14 nandroid backup. Flash the boot.img and make a full wipe, restore the nandroid. If you take a 3.14 nandroid backup you can flash back the 3.14 stock recovery
http://db.tt/C1SWP2ZJ
Then you can also update again to 3.18.401 with the official ota

ok i did that and its saying thats is already locked and btw i cant poweroff fastboot:crying:
Already locked....yeah. unlock it and do the things i wrote earlier. And keep it unlocked. It does not have to be locked to update with official ota anyway !
And why do you wanna keep it locked ? You can't do anything with a locked boatloader.
Unlock it, flash a custom recovery (if you haven't got one) then flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup, make a full wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid.

Half an hour should be enough tho ..... at least to unlock and flash a custom recovery , then charge in there to gain more power. Its better for the phone
