Code:
ERROR-(X10flash,java:374) -
ERROR-(X10flash,java:374) - Error Flashing. Aborted
So, what have I done wrong ?

Just install SUS and PCC for drivers

Or confirm your system. Is it a 64Bit or 32Bit OS, then use proparity Flashtool.
while you'll find all this info littered around the forum; i'll try to run down the exact order to install stuff...at least the order that worked for me...as flashtool, and your phone, seem to fight windows pretty hard at points...
this is all assuming a fresh start...uninstall the device, flashtool, etc if you have to: also this is for an Ion, but it works pretty much the same i'm assuming.
phone ON, MTP connectivity selected; connect to PC with usb cable. Don't touch anything at first. Windows should find and recognize both the internal and external flash drives of the phone (depending on device), and install necessary drivers. If you're using flashtool, i'd suggest not even bothering with the installation of PC companion. PCC will fight flashtool in some cases when connecting the phone, so if you do install it be sure and turn it off when connecting with flashtool.
Set all your autoplay settings to 'do nothing' or 'take no action' when prompted. This too will help prevent windows from trying to do multiple things when you connect with flashtool running.
now unplug the phone, turn it OFF...while holding the phone volume button DOWN...reconnect the usb cable and continue holding the button. This is where i get different results depending on what machine i'm using. My home computer gives a prompt for new hardware which eventually turns into 'SEMC flash driver installed'. My work computer prompted 'S1 Boot Driver installed'...in either case...flashtool would NEVER work right until one of these showed up...and in my case, trying to get this driver to install with flashtool running simply wasn't happening.
if that works, move on...you may have to keep trying that a few times, though. If the green LED light on the phone immediately turns off and the phone attempts to charge, you'll probably have to try again. For whatever reason windows doesn't always react the same, so it takes some patience.
Next install flashtool like normal. After that, find the usb_drivers.exe and run it. Regardless of phone, i just installed everything listed (even though, for my Ion, not one of them specifically says xperia Ion or LT28...)
after that...reboot computer
Now you should be good to go. I run AVG free on both machines, and it never seemed to fight flashtool, but some have said some anti-virus software will interfere...
load up flashtool, select your firmware (i'm assuming you've read how to do all that)...select what you want to do...connect phone with volume down pressed...hold until the flashing starts...and you should be fine.

Hi - more questions, but this time its a problem I'm having. Before flashing the latest O2 UK firmware I want to decrypt my current Orange France 2.3.2 firmware in case I need to go back to it. However, I'm assuming that I need to connect with SEUS once (and possibly update whatever they have) so I can then find the current firmware files in the SEUS folders on my PC.
Anyway, the long and short of it is that when I am told to hold the back button while connecting the phone, NOTHING HAPPENS. I've tried loads of times, tried reinstalling SEUS, nothing. Some drivers started to install, and all seems OK there - no yellow triangles in device manager. Also installed PC Companion (automatically offered when I connected the phone with it turned on). It installed drivers then too. All fine. I tried using a different USB cable too - no luck.
Any clues ?? Searched Sony Ericsson site and it is bare of useful info. Did a search here too but no luck either.
Thanks in advance.
and you followed the instruction as they say:
1. switch off the phone
2. wait for 30 seconds or so (pref. remove the battery and insert it)
3. hold the back button
4. insert usb..
it should detect the phone no matter what. i hope there is some juice in battery...
I've heard that SEUS and PCC now are able to detect rooted phones and don't let you reinstall stock software. It needs the stock build.prop
Thanks for the replies. I have been pulling my hair out on this. I realised that it is to do with my SECM USB Flash drivers being faulty or something.
I tried to use PC Companion and it got to the same bit where SEUS crashes - right when it wants to get in to flash mode on the phone. It hangs the computer up.
I have googled like crazy and have seen reports of others PCs hanging at the same place. BUT, I can't find a way to repair or reinstall the USB Flash drivers - I've reinstalled SEUS and PC Companion plenty of times, with my anti-virus off. And tried to get in to flash mode with the anti virus off.
Problem I think I had is that a lightning storm stopped my first installation of PC Companion - I think it may have screwed something.
Any ideas how to fix the usb flash drivers ???
Have you tried de-installing SEUS and PCC, then in device manager search for and remove the USB Drivers for SEMC.. then reboot.. then re-install SEUS..
??

Thanks - tried that but no luck unfortunately. Couldn't even see anything in Device Manager to do with SEMC, SEUS or Sony Ericsson - was looking under USB Controllers. When I did a full search I did find plenty of traces of the drivers GGSEMC (Gordons Gate Flash USB drivers) in both system32 folder and in the Sony Ericsson folder left over after uninstalling SEUS. Didn't want to just delete the ones in system folders.
you could try doing the "update driver" operation - my driver was called Sony Ericsson seechri (or something like that!).... see if you can repair..
Perhaps you could try on ur friends pc. Just to confirm that seus is the problem.
SOLVED (sort of)
Thanks for the advice.
OK - I tried on another machine (why didn't I do that 6 hours earlier ). Works fine on Win7 64 bit. Maybe the drivers didn't get installed properly on Win XP ?? Going to have a go rolling back to an earlier restore point on the XP machine to see if I can get it working.
Anyway, SOLVED. Thanks
I have this strange problem, that I've had for a while. on plugging my xperia s into the computer PC companion doesn't find the phone no matter what I try. However if I select "Install PC companion " in settings, when I plug the phone in and select the option to install the software it does show up and I can use it fine.
But I would rather not have to do this every time I plug my phone in, is there a way to fix this? If I can remember correctly I had the same issue on GB and I flashed to ICS via flashtools which made no difference...
cheers
I have this problem too actually, I googled it and came across that answer of installing PC companion, which does the job but now I am trying to root the phone and reallly need this fixed so it is able to be rooted
thanks
Try add device under task manager, it'll detect a eerror with xperia s driver. Click fix and it will reinstall the phone driver. It should work afterwards.

under devices and printers? I selected add new device and plugged the phone in but it doesn't find it.
But actually it does show up in that window as 'LT26i' see the photo but when I click on it it doesn't really say anything
Is your device recognized by Windows ? I had the same problem until I installed the drivers. Check the device manager.
Not to say the obvious but did you install the driver package found in flashtool? It's not a button, rather in the folder that contains flashtool.exe there's another folder called drivers. Just run the file.

If nothing works, uninstall the drivers and PC companion. Reboot the PC. Connect the Phone to the PC and let it install PC companion again.
Here is something that worked for me:
go to settings-----storage----seetings----mtp on
after that my computer recognized the phone
I managed to fix the issue, by installing the .55 firmware with full wipe. I had ruled this out as the problem was there when I upgraded from GB to ICS.
But to the OP, if you are still having this issue I would recommend doing that as well. or try @memphis77's suggestion
cheers
Try to reinstall latest version PC Companion again ,and check in Devices and Printers.
It seems on various blogs/sites that there is a pretty big number of LT28at owners hoping for an AT&T rom, which isn't going to happen...I just wanted to make a quick thread of EXACTLY how to simply flash an available stock JB rom onto the LT28AT...without any other information, and i can simply link to it when needed.
This isn't a criticism, but almost every thread i've seen on using flashtool, there is mixed or downright false information on how to get it to work properly. I know its not just for an Ion, but many tutorials tell you to do things that are either incorrect, or otherwise not needed.
So...if you simply want JB on an LT28AT w/ locked boot loader...and want to keep LTE, etc...simply do this: (this is specific to 64bit windows 8, but similar for vista or 7...the only difference is what you need to do for a flashtool driver)
All of this goes with the assumption that you can find the required stuff to do the flash. Searches will quickly link you to the downloads you need. This is more for getting flashtool to work for you the first time...one other note, for all the driver installation stuff...by default, the action center in windows 8 will just give a prompt of a driver installing...that disappears when the action is completed (instead of previous windows versions saying 'your device is now ready to use', etc.)...and no other notifications are given...so in this case, if you're not seeing errors or other problems, you're good to go...just don't unplug anything until the little installation icon disappears...
download the latest version of flashtool (newest version being released in mid June iirc).
use the Ion development page on this site and find one of the multiple stock rom threads, then download the Ion JB version of your choice, as well as the latest .111 AT&T ICS (this may not be needed, but more on that later)
After that is downloaded, make sure your phone is on, go into the settings menu...under connectivity disable the check box for installing pc companion with a usb connection...that is a myth...you DO NOT need to install PC companion, and in fact PC companion will interfere with flashtool depending on autoplay settings in windows. Also, make sure the phone is in MTP mode, and you can also allow USB debugging in developer options...but for simply flashing; the latter isn't completely necessary.
with PC companion set to not install when you plug in the USB cable, plug your phone into your computer with it still ON. Windows will prompt you for 2 different driver installs, depending on your windows Action Center settings. This will install the Ion on your PC as a device with both internal storage and the ext. card accessible...as apposed to just the SD card...
After that installs, unplug the phone, and turn it off. With it completely off, do nothing but plug the phone in again. Another driver will be installed. Allow that to finish, unplug the phone again. I'm not positive as to what this driver does, but i've had better luck getting this out of the way before the next part...
With the phone unplugged and off still, hold the volume key DOWN and plug the phone back into the PC...The LED will turn bright green, and keep holding the volume key until it disappears...this will install the critical 'S1 Boot Driver'. Windows takes a good full minute or so to install this one, but just be patient, it should go fine.
Now install Flashtool from the setup.exe downloaded earlier. Keep track of its install directory, and after it finishes installing, locate the firmware folder and move your firmware ftf files into there...remember that you may need to unzip the firmware before moving it over, depending on the download source.
Now the windows 8 specific stuff. Windows 8 will block unsigned driver installation by default. To get around this, head to the start screen, bring up the charms, click on settings...and at the bottom right; click on Change PC Settings. From this screen, move to 'general' on the left, then scroll to the bottom and enable 'advanced start up'...and hit restart now.
after a reboot, you'll be taken to a screen with 3 options:
Continue
Troubleshoot
Turn-off
choose troubleshoot, then:
Refresh your PC
Reset your PC
Advanced Options
choose advanced options, then:
System Restore
System Image Recovery
Automatic Repair
Command Prompt
Windows Startup settings
choose windows startup settings, and click restart
after the reboot, you'll find a screen of options again, and simply choose 'disable driver signature enforcement'
now you're almost done
back in the flashtool folder, find the drivers folder...open it, and run the driver installer...you'll see a screen with 25 or so different drivers...ONLY ONE is necessary for the flashing an Ion with a stock rom...at the bottom of the driver list, find 'flashmode driver'...install it, wait for the prompt that its an unsigned driver, and click allow.
Now every bit of communication software between your Ion and PC is complete. You do not need to install all those random drivers, despite claims that they are needed.
to flash your JB rom, phone unplugged from PC and OFF. hit the lightning icon in flashtool...then click flashmode...from the next screen select the JB firmware from the list...set flashtool to wipe everything, and exclude nothing, and leave no final verification checked...this is generally regarded as the best way to flash to a totally new firmware version, limiting bugs, etc...then click flash...wait for the files to be prepared by flashtool...
then follow the on screen prompt, but hold volume down while plugging it in...not 'back'; the screen shows some Xperia phone thats 4 years old or something...
Depending on your area, and the JB version you're flashing...you may need to go back through and flash just the baseband from the att ICS you also downloaded...I didn't have to do this, i still have LTE, i just had to set LTE to 'preferred' in the mobile network settings...you also may need to manually enter the APN settings for att, also...I usually had to do this with international ICS firmwares, but it auto-downloaded perfectly with JB...
Sorry for the length, but I'm sure many guys have run into flashtool fighting back pretty hard...and simply not cooperating...if you install everything in the exact order i listed, you should have no problem...it took me installing this on 5 different machines to finally get it to where it works the first time, every time...PC companion seems to be the biggest variable with this...with that running, it'll very often interrupt flashtool and not let the flash kick off properly...

If I'm not wrong u will have to put some rom in your internal memory and flash it with custom recovery. Find a way to do that and best of luck.

can you but your device in flashmode? In recovery mode, the device doesn't recognized by the PC unless you mount sd card.
what os you have on laptop?

Window 7 home basic.
Dude its not recognized because of the drivers, either try to download the drivers for your phone separately and install them on your computer, try to change the USB cable and must use the cable that came with the phone, try connecting it to a different computer, install ADB on the computer and check the device by giving the ADB device detect command (this will only work if you have ADB drivers on your computer for the device... I guess this should help you.

I just had to deal with this myself. You should plug the device into the computer with the device off. Turn it on and let it try to boot and Windows should try loading the driver for it. Hold power and volume up just long enough for the screen to go off and unplug it.
If your drivers are loaded you should be able to go into recovery, mounts and storage, and mount the sd card with it plugged into the computer. It should mount and you can put a rom on the sd and flash.
If it will not mount then your drivers are still not installed. If ftf is the way you want to go then load flash tool and plug in the device while off holding volume down. It should recognize the device. It will not stay in flash mode long. Best way is set up your flash and once ready plug the device in. Hope you get it going again as I am sure you will. Just be patient :good:
Hopefully this will help
First of all use Windows 7 32-bit
Most probably it is a driver related issue.
Download latest flashtool and install all the drivers.
Also check weather you have automatic updates of Windows are ON.
Check in the device manager if all the devices connected are recognized.
When you connect the phone to PC does it show any message or feedback sound.
While using the flashtool use flash mode, also when asked to reboot in flashmode carryout the following steps
Unplug the phone.
Switch it off/ If already switched off make sure it is completely off no icon nothing.
then connect the phone and switch on by holding both Vol Up and power button, you will see green LED glow.
Can I get some help guys? My phone got bricked after I stupidly installed Chainfire3D, the phone is in a boot loop state for now.
My phone's firmware version is 6.1.A.2.55 and I have an unlocked bootloader, my CWM was gone after flashing 6.1.A.2.55 before but my phone is unlocked and it's USB Debugging is turned ON before I bricked it.
After 2 days of researching, here's what I've got (and tried):
My phone's vibrator is not functioning so I don't know how many times my phone vibrate when I hold Power + Volume Up.
My phone's USB port is faulty, it charges but it can't be recognized on a computer then I found a guide here on the forum about cleaning the USB port using a toothpick, and I think it's working fine now.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and I found out that there are issues regarding the ADB drivers, I tried some solutions I found online but my phone is still not detected.
I installed a bootable Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on a external HDD and tried to use Flashtool there. I installed the Fastboot, Flash Mode, Xperia Acro S drivers from C:\Flashtool\drivers and still my phone is not detected.
I tried to install Flashtool again from my girlfriend's computer, Windows 7 64-bit, my phone is detected in Flash Mode but can't stay there for long, it will exit Flash Mode then goes to charging, unlike in Fastboot wherein it stays there.
Tried installing Flashtool again from my mom's computer and borrowed her USB cable, it stays in Flash Mode then I tried to flash LT26w_1265-3909_6.1.A.2.55_GENERIC-user_CUST_1266-3278_R4G from there, but it stops with an error Error processing loader.sin, again I did some research about it and then I tried flashing it again, but this time Flashtool didn't gave me an error but it stops at Checking header right after Processing loader.sin
I also tried to flash only the kernel.sin on Fastboot mode but the Flashtool crashed.
Again, from my mom's computer, I installed Sony PC Companion, it was detected as Xperia Acro HD but my mom's computer don't have internet so I wasn't able to try to repair from there.
I also have another question, could it be that my USB port is not functioning? Are there any other methods to make my USB function again aside from bringing it to a service center?

Okay sir I will try your suggestion, thanks. Can I install CWM using an SD card?
By the way, I brought my phone at the Sony Service Center here, they told me that they can not repair my phone since their computer couldn't detect it and the phone's problem is the motherboard. My phone has dents on it, so I'm pretty sure that they used it as a reason. And also, they told me that my phone was rooted. I was so frustrated because I know that my phone's problem is the USB since the phone charges and goes into bootloop after installing Chainfire3D.
