If I'm not wrong u will have to put some rom in your internal memory and flash it with custom recovery. Find a way to do that and best of luck.

Thanks for your reply but i am looking looking for a way to put some rom in the internal memory of the phone as there is no card slot in the phone. And it would be really appreciated if anyone can help me.

what I recommend is, download a stock rom ftf (.96 maybe) put you phone is flash mode and then flash it using flashtool and voila!

this might help.
and then connect your phone to your pc and then use recuva to recover the recoverable files from the internal storage.http://www.piriform.com/recuva

When i connect my phone to the laptop, it doesn't recognized by the laptop. Can you plz tell me what i can do so when i connect my phone it will be recognized by the laptop. Thanks

can you but your device in flashmode? In recovery mode, the device doesn't recognized by the PC unless you mount sd card.
what os you have on laptop?
for flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302569

Window 7 home basic.

Dude its not recognized because of the drivers, either try to download the drivers for your phone separately and install them on your computer, try to change the USB cable and must use the cable that came with the phone, try connecting it to a different computer, install ADB on the computer and check the device by giving the ADB device detect command (this will only work if you have ADB drivers on your computer for the device... I guess this should help you.

1. Download & install flashtool with its drivers
2. Download .96 firmware (ftf)
3. Put the ftf file in flashtool/firmware directory
4. Run flashtool, click on flashmode () and choose your ftf from the list then click on next or ok or something
5. Power off your phone
6. While you connect your usb press volume down button
7. Then the pop up window Will close and the installation will begin
8. When it's done it will write: plug down your phone and turn it on etc etc.
If it's difficult, try to reinstall with Sony companion

I just had to deal with this myself. You should plug the device into the computer with the device off. Turn it on and let it try to boot and Windows should try loading the driver for it. Hold power and volume up just long enough for the screen to go off and unplug it.
If your drivers are loaded you should be able to go into recovery, mounts and storage, and mount the sd card with it plugged into the computer. It should mount and you can put a rom on the sd and flash.
If it will not mount then your drivers are still not installed. If ftf is the way you want to go then load flash tool and plug in the device while off holding volume down. It should recognize the device. It will not stay in flash mode long. Best way is set up your flash and once ready plug the device in. Hope you get it going again as I am sure you will. Just be patient :good:

Hopefully this will help
First of all use Windows 7 32-bit
Most probably it is a driver related issue.
Download latest flashtool and install all the drivers.
Also check weather you have automatic updates of Windows are ON.
Check in the device manager if all the devices connected are recognized.
When you connect the phone to PC does it show any message or feedback sound.
While using the flashtool use flash mode, also when asked to reboot in flashmode carryout the following steps
Unplug the phone.
Switch it off/ If already switched off make sure it is completely off no icon nothing.
then connect the phone and switch on by holding both Vol Up and power button, you will see green LED glow.

I think driver doesnt play a role in this, with a non driver install PC I still can mount sdcard as removable disk drive with other phone
maybe a hardware problem?

One thing you can do is that when you plug your phone ... delete all all the devices with "Q" on it in your computer device manager.
then unplug and try plugging back.
sometime happens when window install other drivers for one device it stay stuck with it until you manually delete those drivers. Maybe thats the case. Your friends device id is configured with right drivers. You can also switch to another computer and install drivers there and check.

I have to confirm once more that this problem is not driver problems because it's not necessary driver when mount sdcard (test with other lu6200, other android model with non-driver PC)
I think my problem is hardware error or some wrong IMG is flashed in one strange partition (not system.img or baseband.img etc...) during my massing times of flash new rom

R800i Issues with USB Driver and Bootloader!

Hi Guys,
Any help would be great! i do have google talk if anyone is willing to help me out!
My R800i Is rooted and has a version of recovery but not sure which version, i am wanting to update my phone with a better kernel and rom since the current one i have installed is giving me issues ( not being able to receive incoming calls for example )
Another problem is i reformatted the phone since i was having issues with receiving calls but now when i connect my phone to ANY computer via the USB cable the computer trys to install MTP or MSC driver ( depends on which connection type i select ) the Installer fails and i cant even take any files off my phone.
Provided details below. i want to somehow get into the current bootloader and install the ROM thats on my SD card! i do have flashtool installed and Android tool SDK installed but still no success in phone wanting to talk to my laptop.
I am running windows 7 64 bit. i am starting to think the phone is belond repair since i cant get any software to work between the phone and computer.
does anyone know what buttons i need to push on the Xperia Play to enter into the boot loader, i have tried pressing the back button and search button on phone boot but nothing happens apart from the phone starts up normally.
would a factory reset delete the boot loader and other config-ed software off the phone is this why i cant enter the boot loader or am i not pressing the right buttons on boot.
Any help would be really appreciated!

If you want to change the kernel you must unlock your bootloader. If your Xperia Play is a SIM free one, you can do it for free in this link: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
For SIM locked devices I think you must find another ways to do it. There are some online sites that unlock bootloader to SIM locked devices for a fee.
Once you have unlocked your bootloader, turn off the phone, hold on the search button, plug the USB cable in the computer, release the search button (power button LED will be blue) and install this driver: http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Google-USB-Driver-Revision4-Download-139077.html
Now you are ready to flash any kernel you want with Flashtool or any other app.
Thanks for the information, i have already done this, i payed £25 for a guy on this forum to unlock my phone to any network. i'll give this a try and get back to you, problem is the phone doesn't like to talk to my laptop via USB cable keeps on failing to install the drivers..

I have tried what you said but having problems with connecting my phone to my Windows 7 Laptop!
Check your device manager. The fastest way to open it is running this command: devmgmt.msc
There must be some kind of Android device while your phone is connected in fastboot mode. If you see it, update its driver with the Google USB driver v4 pointing at the folder path with the uncompressed files.

Hi I tried what you said, i Turned off my phone and holded the search button and turned it back on, the light went blue and the computer popped up trying to install fast boot i point to the SDK folder to update the driver but it fails.
do you have google talk might be easier on there to talk! cheers!
I'm not using gtalk atm. Sorry.
Be sure the driver you downloaded is named usb_driver_rev4.zip: http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=139077&t=4&i=1
If Windows doesn't detects any driver in that uncompressed folder, you can choose to select the device from a list, point to that folder and force to install the driver. It's named something like Android ADB Interface.

Just tried, i put my phone into Media Transfer Mode.. my computer tried to install the MTP usb device and i directed the installation to the driver you linked..
Update Driver Software says: the best driver software for your device is already installed MTP USB DEVICE, there is a small yellow triangle on the icon and in MTP USB Device Properties it says: This device cannot start. (Code 10)
i need someone to Teamviewer with me, for the record i don't have the Sony Ericsson software installed on my Computer because that still wont install the drivers for my phone, i also know its not needed for installing new kernel and roms.
i tried connecting this phone to a bunch of pcs including my friends and it still fails to install any drivers!!! i think i am just going to bin this phone! i have had enough (
You must install that driver when you plug the phone in fastboot mode. It shouldn't work in any other case. In other words, when you plug your Xperia Play being powered on and Android is running it needs one driver, and when you boot it in fastboot mode you need other driver.
Please, install the driver following the steps previously posted with your phone in fastboot mode (blue LED).
Hello, i put my phone into fastboot mode, my device manager shows 1 device not installed S1Boot Fastboot, i right click go to properties and click update driver...
then i browse my computer for driver software i point the location to usb_driver_rev4\usb_driver and it says: Windows was unable to install your s1Boot fastboot!
Ok, let's see...
Try to update the driver using the "choose from a list" option to force the installation, point to the driver folder and select "Android ADB Interface" from the list. If Windows shows a warning message don't worry about it and go ahead.
i tryed this and its not wanting to work (
Sorry to hear that because I don't have any more ideas for your problem.
Maybe you may spend some minutes searching in the forum to find some detail that can help you.
i need someone with teamviewer to help me go though the setup process again, if anyone is willing to get my phone working i will happy pay them some money!
Thanks Jcarbox for all your support!
Regards
Paul
I just check the Windows device manager with my phone plugged in bootloader mode and it appears as Android Bootloader Interface, so this is the device you must choose from the list when you install the driver.
Hope this helps you.

hi PsychoShaft,
I had similar problems. I don't know how to fix it permanently. but i do this to make it work for some time.First, download flashtool and install it.Open your device manager and select view->show hidden drivers. Then, delete all your drivers related to xperia play. like the adb interface, semc flash ,etc. All of them in all categories. then reboot your computer into safe mode with administrator and connect your device with flashtool running in your windows in safe mode. then the flashtool will indicate that you don't have the drivers. then, open the drivers folder in flashtool and use the setup to install arc-play-...,flashmode drivers and fastboot mode drivers.then after the installation is over windows will ask you to reboot.now reboot with your mobile connected. after boot windows will automatically install the drivers. then unplug your phone and turn off it and connect in flash/fastboot mode.it will automatically install drivers.wait for windows to say drivers installed successfully or installation failed. don't unplug it in the middle of the process then you will have to start from first.sometimes it will not work in the first time ,then reboot into safe mode and try again installing the drivers and rebooting into safe mode itself and connecting your device.at one point of time flashtool will say your device is connected in flas/fastboot mode.then continue with flashing
Gladwin.
Thanks for the support guys i managed to solve the issue!

[Q] Need some help.

I wanted a fresh start on my SG3, so I formatted my entire phone including the sdcard. Now my phone doesn't have a OS installed and my sdcard doesn't have any rom on it. I thought of just taking my sdcard out and using a sdcard reader to transfer a rom. But I couldn't find my ultra sdcard reader. I found a solution using adb in the "Samsung GS3 Toolkit" to transfer files. But I needed to install the phone drivers, now here's the problem. I can't seem to install the MTP driver without fully booted into android.
Could anyone give me some advice or point me in the right direction? Thank you.

You don't need to connect your phone to Kies. Just download Kies to your computer to get the correct drivers onto your computer. After that, use Odin to flash a factory tar image.
Hold Vol Down, home and power to get into download mode.

So, what have I done wrong ?

Or confirm your system. Is it a 64Bit or 32Bit OS, then use proparity Flashtool.
while you'll find all this info littered around the forum; i'll try to run down the exact order to install stuff...at least the order that worked for me...as flashtool, and your phone, seem to fight windows pretty hard at points...
this is all assuming a fresh start...uninstall the device, flashtool, etc if you have to: also this is for an Ion, but it works pretty much the same i'm assuming.
phone ON, MTP connectivity selected; connect to PC with usb cable. Don't touch anything at first. Windows should find and recognize both the internal and external flash drives of the phone (depending on device), and install necessary drivers. If you're using flashtool, i'd suggest not even bothering with the installation of PC companion. PCC will fight flashtool in some cases when connecting the phone, so if you do install it be sure and turn it off when connecting with flashtool.
Set all your autoplay settings to 'do nothing' or 'take no action' when prompted. This too will help prevent windows from trying to do multiple things when you connect with flashtool running.
now unplug the phone, turn it OFF...while holding the phone volume button DOWN...reconnect the usb cable and continue holding the button. This is where i get different results depending on what machine i'm using. My home computer gives a prompt for new hardware which eventually turns into 'SEMC flash driver installed'. My work computer prompted 'S1 Boot Driver installed'...in either case...flashtool would NEVER work right until one of these showed up...and in my case, trying to get this driver to install with flashtool running simply wasn't happening.
if that works, move on...you may have to keep trying that a few times, though. If the green LED light on the phone immediately turns off and the phone attempts to charge, you'll probably have to try again. For whatever reason windows doesn't always react the same, so it takes some patience.
Next install flashtool like normal. After that, find the usb_drivers.exe and run it. Regardless of phone, i just installed everything listed (even though, for my Ion, not one of them specifically says xperia Ion or LT28...)
after that...reboot computer
Now you should be good to go. I run AVG free on both machines, and it never seemed to fight flashtool, but some have said some anti-virus software will interfere...
load up flashtool, select your firmware (i'm assuming you've read how to do all that)...select what you want to do...connect phone with volume down pressed...hold until the flashing starts...and you should be fine.

[Q] Unable to flash bricked Xperia Acro S

Can I get some help guys? My phone got bricked after I stupidly installed Chainfire3D, the phone is in a boot loop state for now.
My phone's firmware version is 6.1.A.2.55 and I have an unlocked bootloader, my CWM was gone after flashing 6.1.A.2.55 before but my phone is unlocked and it's USB Debugging is turned ON before I bricked it.
After 2 days of researching, here's what I've got (and tried):
My phone's vibrator is not functioning so I don't know how many times my phone vibrate when I hold Power + Volume Up.
My phone's USB port is faulty, it charges but it can't be recognized on a computer then I found a guide here on the forum about cleaning the USB port using a toothpick, and I think it's working fine now.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and I found out that there are issues regarding the ADB drivers, I tried some solutions I found online but my phone is still not detected.
I installed a bootable Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on a external HDD and tried to use Flashtool there. I installed the Fastboot, Flash Mode, Xperia Acro S drivers from C:\Flashtool\drivers and still my phone is not detected.
I tried to install Flashtool again from my girlfriend's computer, Windows 7 64-bit, my phone is detected in Flash Mode but can't stay there for long, it will exit Flash Mode then goes to charging, unlike in Fastboot wherein it stays there.
Tried installing Flashtool again from my mom's computer and borrowed her USB cable, it stays in Flash Mode then I tried to flash LT26w_1265-3909_6.1.A.2.55_GENERIC-user_CUST_1266-3278_R4G from there, but it stops with an error Error processing loader.sin, again I did some research about it and then I tried flashing it again, but this time Flashtool didn't gave me an error but it stops at Checking header right after Processing loader.sin
I also tried to flash only the kernel.sin on Fastboot mode but the Flashtool crashed.
Again, from my mom's computer, I installed Sony PC Companion, it was detected as Xperia Acro HD but my mom's computer don't have internet so I wasn't able to try to repair from there.
I also have another question, could it be that my USB port is not functioning? Are there any other methods to make my USB function again aside from bringing it to a service center?

Instead of trying to install rom, try installing cwm, then if cwm is installed and working, you can use that to flash zip through sideload from pc.

Okay sir I will try your suggestion, thanks. Can I install CWM using an SD card?
By the way, I brought my phone at the Sony Service Center here, they told me that they can not repair my phone since their computer couldn't detect it and the phone's problem is the motherboard. My phone has dents on it, so I'm pretty sure that they used it as a reason. And also, they told me that my phone was rooted. I was so frustrated because I know that my phone's problem is the USB since the phone charges and goes into bootloop after installing Chainfire3D.
