I have tried to backup my bluetooth connections with TiBu Pro for the past 3 ROMs. Everytime restore them nothing happens. The last time I made sure to specifically backup "bluetooth pairings" and restored "bluetooth pairings" data, when I go into bluetooth connection there is nothing there...
I have a new bluetooth radio in my car and it is a PIA to hook up my phone to it everytime I flash a new ROM, any tips?
Anyone?

That's weird, my Bluetooth settings and WiFi settings are always saved to the Google Servers. I usually don't have to touch a thing especially when I switch from ROM to ROM

This is the single reason why I don't flash ROMs that often. It makes me crazy re-pairing to my truck even though it takes about 2 minutes.
I'd love to back up the pairings if I knew it'd work.

I use TiBu to do this.
on main page in TiBu, click menu button, backup data to xml..., then select wifi. that should handle wifi and bt. I havent had to repair any of my devices in months.

Anyone else have any EB13 issues with bluetooth pairing "dropping"? As in I need to fully re-pair my car and my phone every time I get in it because the devices won't recognize each other even though they have been paired. This never happened on eclair.
At first I thought it might just be one of the ROMs but all EB13 ROMs do this to me. Also, it isn't my device as my wife is having the exact same problem. FYI, currently I am using ACS but this happens with others also.
I think i have issue too and after fiddling around with it it finally connects, but everytime i turn off bluetooth, i have to fiddle around for like 3 minutes to get it back on?
Any suggestions?
Ive cleared opp bluetooth data..
Should i reflash the eb13 modem? Or is this just an issue with the new modem?
Any one else having issues with keeping a a pair connection when turning off the phone or bluetooth?
Would appreciate the suggestions.
I use my phone for radio in the car and as much as it pains me to say it I may go back to eclair :-(

Someone said that before he upgraded to eb13 he backed up older bluetooth system files and pairing data in titanium backup and restored them and it fixed it for him. Also it appears to work on dk28..
So what i was thinking is odin back and connect the headset and make sure it work properly, then titanium backup it and restore the certain files and it may work, i may test this tomrrow will let you know if this fixes if not, maybe the ec20 update will fix it..
I may have old bluetooth files backed up with titanium. Let me know how it goes. Is it the bluetoothOPP or bluetooth services apk?

I pulled all the 3 files from a DK28 ROM and it is still the same problem. If our problems are the same, this doesnt fix it.

U need to pair your headset with d118 or dk28 and save those files via titanium backup and save the Bluetooth pairing file, so regardless u have to make it connect on the precious Timon and save the pairing file and all the Bluetooth ill try to test it today, I hope we get ec20 or a new build that fixes this annoying issue..

For those that updated their Epics to the new Bonsai 4.0.0, have your Bluetooth issues been fixed? I am still having issues.
It has for.mme.and.everyone in testing. You probably have something corrupted and it keeps getting.carried over. Best bet.is to Odin to a fresh install.

Damn...I was afraid of that. I was hoping that flashing the new EC05 modem and Bonsai ROM would take care of the BT issues. I just got my phone configured the way I wanted and now have to start over.

Just make sure to use Titanium backup and when you restore all your apps restore the data for TWcrushlauncher.apk (or whichever launcher you are on) and your homescreens will be back the way you left it.

Isn't there a chance that restoring data using Titanium Backup will also bring over the "corrupted" BT files too? I was assuming I would need to start with a completely clean slate and restore/install apps from the market one at a time.
let you know shortly, i still need to borrow mys dads bluetooth headset and i assume it will work, although i odined back to stock and just restored apps, and it was a good decision before going to bonsai cause, my phone was probaly loaded with old crap and it was slowing it down...
Ok well it seemed to connect perfectly with only one pair message.. didnt seem to have as many issues, although it did make me reclick the device to connect it only once..
but the headset was dead and charging so i will charge it a little and let you know more seems tho its much improved then it was on connecting!!
Update: Bluetooth issues is fixed!!! Worked perfect like it should, when you toggle it on and off it just ask you to accept pin and then connects flawlessly!!! YAY!!!

Don't bring all your data over. Once you have put the clean system on and got the ROM back on and redownloaded and installed apps, just bring in the launcher data. No BT info is in there.
Well, that worked!! All BT issues appear to be fixed. I can pair with my Jabra SP700 and make calls and stream music. Bluetooth toggling doesn't require me to enter a PW again and connections appear to hold.
For those with BT issues, a clean wipe and flash is the way to go.
EC05 definately fixed the Bluetooth for me. I tested it with a few different ones. No longer get the losing pair issues. When I do a battery change and the phone boots up, I turn on my Bluetooth and it connects right back up

I have 2 Phones, one for me and one for my wife. I flashed mine with liquidsmooth and is great, very happy. So i decided to do my wifes as well. All went well, except when it came to the bluetooth connection to my car. before i flashed hers both phone connected fine, but now only one or the other connects because now for some reason they both have the same bluetooth address, so now i cannot even send send anything to her via bluetooth. How can flashing a custom rom change the bluetooth address on a phone ?. Any as i took a backup of her efs folder, i thought restoring that would fix it, but no cigar. Does any one know how to fix this issue ? or know how to change the bluetooth address on the phone ? Gee i thought these addresses would be unique on phones....
Is this a question or development...

Hi,
I have problem with WiFi connection. 2 days ago, everything worked perfectly, now when I bring closer my phone to router's antena, I get full signal strength. When I'm on 3 meter distance from router, I get half of it, and from another room I don't get signal at all... Other devices can connect to WiFi normally.
I have already done all tricks found on google, but still without success. I have tried turning off wifi powered save mode, setting 'no background processes', setting up dynamic routing... Any other workarounds, suggestions? Does factory reset resolve this issue completely?
Thanks in advance!
Install the wifi fixer app.
Just a question, what kind of router is it? Brand/model.
Also unplug your router and modem for about 30 sec. Then plug back in and try again.
Have you flashed any roms or mods, installed any apps in the last few days?

Hi,
Thank you all for replies. There is nothing flashed, everything was working just fine last week. I have already tried by unpluging router and modem but still without success. Also for informations, I have done 'factory reset' but problem remains same.
Are you rooted? Custom rom?
If you have made a nandroid, make a new one and restore back to the original. If it doesn't help just restore the newest again.
Go into Settings > More Settings. Make sure everything is off. (Wifi calling, wifi direct...) try different combos of settings.
Did you check if your router has any fw updates avail? Try changing one or two things in the router setup like password and ssid.
Do you get a normal, good connection on other networks? Like at work or the bookstore?

I'm assuming you have admin rights on the router, log onto it through a browser and check the settings. There's all kinds of things that can get screwy.
I had the same problem. I turned on airplane mode. Them turned off airplane mode and the WiFi connected again. Again this worked for me.

*Edit* The problem was found to be with Titanium backup and how it reports data usage by apps after you restore it. I have contacted the developer for investigation.

So, I have Tasker installed on my Nexus just for simple automation that turns on Wi-Fi tether when my phone's Bluetooth pairs with my car stereo (which is also Android) so I can stream Internet radio etc.
I've been noticing lately that my data has been transmitting a lot when my phone has been sitting idle so I did some investigation and found that Tasker has sent over 2GB of data this month alone. This is more than I've used while tethered! I can't think of any valid reason as to why it would need to send that much data (if any at all) so I am highly suspicious of this app. Anyone else using Tasker? Can you check your data usage to see if you're seeing the same?

You can disable using background data on data usage settings. But really, its a weird case. Mine not using any data at all...

Unfortunately it's 99% foreground data which means I can't block it. There shouldn't be any reason for this app to send/receive data from my phone. The only other app that uses more data is YouTube which is valid since I use it all the time. Here's the pic:
OK, this is crazy.
I just went back and checked the previous months of Tasker data usage
September: 4.0GB
August: 3.36GB (date installed was August 7th)
WTF is going on?!
If I was you I would wipe everything including SD card and start from scratch. Def seems a bit fishy...
under settings..accessibility..services tasker is it on or off?
It is off.

There's some setting to disable/enable external apps from controlling Tasker. Do you have that enabled? If so, try disabling.
What kinda tasks have you configured? Anything that uploads photos or something?

Did you get install Tasker directly from Play Store? If so, might be worth to contact the developer and ask about this. I have this application running in the background for a couple of months now and haven't got this issue.

Did you Titanium back up and restore the system data for "Data Usage". Youtube, my highest data usage app turned into another random app after backing up my Data Usage from stock rom and restoring to Rasbean Jelly.

I only have 1 task configured that pretty much reads like this (logically)
When paired to BTxxx turn on WiFi Tether, End statement=disable tether
That's it.
I haven't changed any of the default settings in Tasker except to remove the lightning bolt from my notification bar. I just unfroze the app. The setting 'Allow External Access' is disabled.

I did download it from the Play Store. I have been in contact with the developer and we haven't narrowed down what the cause could be.

I did do a restore of data usage when I moved over from CNA to Paranoid so you may be on to something here. In your case, do you show any YouTube traffic as well, or has it all been shifted to the random app?
Thanks.
OK, I think I've found the problem. It appears to be a bug in Titanium backup and restoring the usage statistics.
I have also done a restore of my data use after flashing a new ROM so I did some further testing after unfreezing Tasker for a couple of days and everything appears to be fine in that there is no data use being reported.
Thanks for the suggestion Akash3656. I am going to report my findings to the author of Titanium backup.
