[Q] softbrick, please help... - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello all,
I have the E975 Optimus G. Rooted and tried to install CWM over "BootTools"... and failed it seems :/
when I try to boot, I just have the screen "secure booting error cause: boot certification verify" and bootloop
Factory rested yields the same error (and fails)
CWM not installed it seems :/
please, can anyone give me an advise ?

If you don't unlock bootloader first with freegee you won't be able to flash CWM.

I can agree, but for now I can do nothing at all :/ any clue ? please :/

I found this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
and... solved my issue YEAH !
But I don't understand how I made this mess... it is definitively not my first rooting and CWM installation on Android devices...
I will read all tutos again with care...
does anyone had any problems installing CWM ?

What is it so hard to underwtand.locked bootloader means security checks.if you don't disable these checks, you can't install cwm.
Freegee does both, unlocking the bootloader and install custom recovery(either twrp or cwm).
It has always b3en like this on locked phones.
It's not compared with samsung devices, where a simple root is bringing the cwm too.with og you need to do one more operation

I see and yes, my experiences were some old HTC and some Samsungs
thanks alot let's go for FreeGee
PS : does thes (above) restauration method will almost always save my phone ? because in this case I will keep it in a very secured place

[Q] Can't flash any recovery mod :/

Hi there,
I tried to install a recovery mod to change the rom on my LG Optimus G (e975).
When I launch ROM Manager in "Current Recovery" tab, it tells me that I have TWRP but when I try to reboot into recovery mode, I always have an error:
Secure boot error!
Cause: boot verify certification

I tried with clockwork mod recovery and it does not work. I have the same problem when i reboot in recovery: Secure boot error!
Can someone help me?
FYI, I "bricked" my phone a few days ago so I applied the KDZ method to unlock and it worked well.
Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor english. I'm french
Small question,by any chance, did you unlocked the bootloader?.

Woups ...
Ahem. I have not seen in the tutorials that I had to unlock the bootloader.
It's done with FreeGee (french phone) and ... obviously, it work now.
Thx

New version of FreeGee used; stuck in CWM bootloop

I have done this before but I used what seems to be a different version of freegee (didn't have the option to backup efs or flash TWRP) so I unlocked my device and after it had completed I rebooted and then powered down. I put my phone in to CWM and flashed the stock debloated ROM. After flashing this ROM I was stuck in a bootloop. I ended up using LG Tool to get it back to stock. I thought it must have been a random once off issue so I tried again with Freegee, same thing happened, only this time no matter what I do I can not get LG Tool to fix the issue as it keeps giving me the error of low battery even though it is at full capacity. I then tried to use BC2 to flash a kdz file and I get the same error. I have since tried factory resetting, sideloading different recoveries, ROMs and basebands without boot. I have tried to use LG Tool about 50 times and it is not working. I have changed USB ports, reinstalled drivers etc, just keeps giving me that error. Yes I have set permission in the app and I am using Windows 7

Thank you, I will use that if I ever get LG Tool to stop throwing me the low battery warning. What a stupid program to not give you the option to bypass it. Surely there is a way I can do this. My battery is at 99%. I just flashing madmack hacked and lockified recovery and now I can't even get in to recovery to do sideloads. I am running out of options, my only way is to get LG Tool or B2C to work
EDIT* I have recovery back. GRR why is this stupid message about low battery keep popping up

I am unsure what this is but I am interested? Thanks, I ended up doing what I was trying to do in the first place and IT WORKED
To anybody that faces the same issue:
in recovery sideload install madmacks TWRP file attached below
after that is installed flash CM11 using the same sideload
The command in adb is adb sideload (your file name in here without the brackets.zip) You must include .zip
It is strange because it didn't work the first 3 times I flashed the ROM and on the fourth it worked, so keep trying
i can fix bootloop to cwm or recovery just 2 minutes. but u have to backup your stock recovery fírst before install cwm or twrp.
so thiss step to solve after u have boot loop. that u need to restore back your stock recovery on mmcblk0p28 then reboot. you will stuck at factory software repair. keep ur fone connected with the computer and type adb reboot. then u can boot into android os. and final step. u reinstall your custom recovery again and Enjoy. this fixing not for newbie and im typing it on my fone. someone can make automation script to help People solve it im lazy

Thanks for trying to help. I am not running stock and can not get a stock ROM to work (with locked bootloader obviously)
LG Tool is requesting for a TOT file which the E988 doesn't have, I have tried using E98810D_00.kdz file in the software field but it is not recognising the cab file. The DLL file is recognised but I don't know what else to do from there.
LG Mobile Support Tool keeps failing on me due to low battery error which as you can see, I have been trying my hardest to get it to work. Battery is at 99% but it still won't flash! - I am stuch with a custom ROM and a dodgy unlocked bootloader due to the latest release FreeGee.
I tried the old file you attached but it fails to download the image file to unlock my bootloaders, I guess because it is already unlocked.
What I need now is to find a way to relock my bootloader that doesn't involve LG Tool/LG Mobile Tool and then try the old FreeGee app again. Or I find a way to get passed this stupid battery warning

First try to use LG Mobile Tool. All files and instructions found here CLICK ME
If that doesn't work the follow the instructions I posted earlier and it will get your phone booting again. As for getting back to stock and unlocking the bootloaders without causing kernel issues, I am still waiting for a response from Seth. He has been making a lot of changing as this is a known problem. The latest version is supposed to work like it used to now.

Thanks! This worked 100%. Something's really up with the freegee CWM, totally useless. Had 3 days of a headache till I saw this post. I used to be a CWM guy, now TWRP all the way...! The interface is touch based and much easier to handle than CWM. Best of all it doesn't go into a bootloop! Cheers! :good::good:

[Q] About ClockWorkMod Recovery for Optimus G

Hello there,
I'm planning to install ClockWorkMod Recovery into my phone, the Optimus G F180L. But of course, Since F180L is only sold in Korea, it seems very tricky to actually install this.
So, I downloaded ROM Manager, and tried to install ClockWorkMod Recovery from there.
But it gave me 3 options: LG Optimus G e970 (AT&T), LG Optimus G e973 (Canada), and LG Optimus G ls970 (Sprint).
Which one would be closest to the Optimus G F180L, or even the International version (e975)?
If you do require one, here's a screenshot: Actually, since I'm a 'n00b', I'll just attach the screenshot if you do need it.

There's nothing wrong with that... First of all, did you root your phone? Second, did you unlock your bootloader with FreeGee? If not, you can't install custom recovery. Third, my suggestion would be to forget the ROM Manager, and the regular CWM. Install PhilZ Advanced Touch CWM. This will be the last recovery you'll ever need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462938
When you unlock your bootloader, FreeGee gives you an option to install a custom recovery (TWRP, I believe). Do it, and then from that recovery, flash PhilZ. Done.
Well, I did get ClockworkMod Recovery to work (the regular one, couldn't get the advanced one), but still have some problems.
I'm trying to get Cyanogenmod 10.2 (Stable) version to work on my Optimus G, but it just keeps giving me the 'Status 7" Error.
I'm guessing that it is because I'm using the International Version of the Optimus G. But my phone is a bit different, as I've already talked about (Korean F180L model). I think that is why the asset or whatever this didn't work, and thus, failed to install.
So, any ways to fix this problem? does fixing the "e975" to "F180L" work?
Thanks.:good:

I responded to your PM. Just to summarize the steps that I would suggest you do:
1. Use LG Flash Tool 2014 to flash a stock KDZ. Forget the standard LG tools.
2. Root your phone (depending on the version, you can use ioroot25, or ZV9-ZVB-Universal-Root, or whatever works for you).
3. Install FreeGee, then unlock your BL (I always used Mako method), and install the custom recovery.
4. Flash PhilZ Advanced Touch CWM. This is the best recovery available, hands down (in my experience).
Bro how long does it gonna take to get the process completed? I Download flash tool 2014 but I guess its not moving see here...27 minutes and still 44℅

[Q] Error loki-ifying the boot image when flashing ROM

can't flash a CWM recovery on my wife's E980 using Freegee....Mine is the white one and I had no loki issues with it...everytime you flsays:
"checking if loki-ifying is needed/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. /by-name/boot needs lokifying. [-] Failed to find function to patch.
Error loki-ifying the boot image. "
yes I did use Freegee already and install CWM. When I booted it gave me this...I can't install any ROMS. yet my other G Pro (white) is fine and hasn't given me any issues. RIght now I'm stuck with it booting into clockwork by itself. And I would like to use TWRP but the version that comes with Freegee doesn't work right on the damn screen. If it's not bootlooping into Clockwork then it gets frozen at the LG screen with something about security crap. and the funny part is...I used Freegee both times.
EDIT: used LGFlashTool to bring it back..but she wants a custom ROM and every recovery I flash to it either
1. used this recovery. tried flashing using a CWM recovery that I used from Freegee http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552611
freezes at the LG screen with a SECURITY ERROR on the left corner of the screen (flashtools will fix)
2. When I do successfully flash a recovery using Freegee and I get it to boot into CWM it won't come back out of CWM it will boot automatically into it (LGflashtools will fix)
3. the freegee TWRP in won't work right with the touch screen.
Yes I saw that there are 2 topics similar to this, but they are G2's. Mine is an AT&T E980 that i'm having issues with.
I had exactly this same problem. I'm also on AT&T E980 and could not find a fix anywhere for this phone. I flashed back to stock so many times that I was ready to just get rid of it. What I finally noticed was that, if I flashed back to stock and took the update to E98010P, I could flash TWRP through FreeGee and the touch would work. I also used VooDoo OTA to preserve root through the update. I don't know if it was necessary, but it didn't cause me any problems and everything worked.
I have no idea why CWM stopped working and I could not use Phil's recovery either, but the whole experience has been maddening and I have never had so many problems with a phone before. Hope this helps.
i have the same annoying problem!
can someone help?
after the rom flash was done i've got the error so i immediately restored my backup

Ok I have used CWM from FreeGee and used the Carbon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439911) ROM and it does not need lokifying for my AT&T E980. It loads fine. I'm looking for a way to fix the lokifying thing though as I can't flash too many ROMs, a lot need lokifying.

LG G3 LS990 - ZVB - Rooted + TWRP - Flash Stock Recovery Only
Hi, I am looking for flashing stock recovery on my LG G3 Sprint LS990. I believe the same method will work. I am currently running on stock ZVB ROM rooted and TWRP installed as recovery. In the download folder for LS990-ZVB http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/LS990/stock_partitions/ZVB, there is no recovery image file, but in ZVA folder there is. I am just wondering if I can flash ZVA folder's recovery image using Flashify to my ZVB ROM LS990 and if that will work.
My LS990 is rooted and currently have TWRP. i get secure boot error when the phone reboots after accepting Android updates installation that come automatically. I believe installing stock recovery will resolve this issue and allow to install Android updates I do not want to going back to stock completely, that will unroot my phone and again I have do all these staffs.
Anyone can help to advise, will be appreciated. Thanks.
