I want to download the new firmware that was provided by milkyman in the following...
You'll have to flash mikeyman's file (http://d-h.st/57S) via Odin. Just click on PDA, select the file in Odin, and press start. Don't touch anything else. Root/recovery will be unaffected
But Trend Micro flags the server as a source for malicious software and I am not able to get there. Just a heads up to milkyman...

I recently installed a Root Permissions on Original Firmware, and I then installed a Custom Rom (I am Italian so I chose an Italian ROM COOKED ^ _ ^) of cis80. Up to yesterday's .. All okay!
For a Stroke, unfortunately, the phone started to reboot without any reason, and the last time it was restarted .. in a like Boot Loop... O_O The Phone Locked on screen "Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100" Without going on Next Logo of Loading (As Default What Samsung).
I've tried EVERYTHING .. but really .. I say to ALL! But nothing to do ..... What is the only one that I can to enter into "Download Mode" .. with Odin I've tried everything but everything I always returns "FAIL" or "Error Pit" & more .... or another Error. Also NAND Erase, nothing nothing... :_(
AIUTOOOOO!! I do not know Do! I have the Note 2 to 10 days c.a. ... and now I can't use it ..... My Beast is Down...
First, this isnt be .. a phone for kids.
Second, if you can enter into Download Mode, could be fixed. (If you couldnt enter you should need jig usb)
3rd, if you dont know what the hell are you doing, leave stock ROM.

Try 1.85 odin and if that wont help try to download non italian rom, uk one works for me before when i fixed my friend note 2
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
You try
1. download Stock ROM file
2. Use Odin 3.07 (recommend)
3. Open Odin (on computer use normal harddisk. Not solid stat drive,SSD) check Auto Reboot and F. rest Time and Nand Erase All OR Repartition (If you have PIT file)
4. Check PDA and select Stock ROM (your downloaded)
5. Start
6. Finished Flash Rom. You Remove USB and restart Your phone will stop at samsung logo. Never mine. You restart again (Hold power button). Enter stock recovery mode (Vol Up + Home + power button).Your Phone show error can't read data.
7. In stock recovery menu. You check wipe cache. and wipe cache+factory reset. and restart your phone.
8. Your phone may come back normal.
good luck.
Hi guys, I've been flashing for a while and well, I kinda broke the display on my old note 2. I did an claim, have my new one here right in front of me. I've never had a problem rooting before (I've broken more than one phone and I'm not proud). But for some reason, my odin v 3.07 keeps hanging up when attempting to flash the Note2-CWM-6.0.4.3-SGH-T889.tar file I downloaded from http://galaxynote2root.com/cwm-recovery. It's Max Lee's site, he's pretty great at keeping it updated, as you can see It's cwm 6.0.4.3.

Right here is where it hangs up, now I've watched countless videos from official Root method here on the T-Mobile Note 2 XDA forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955423
I've even used the .tar files from the ^^ thread as well to see if it yielded different results and it still hangs up at the same exact spot.
to Max Lee's tutorial, and everyone's Odin zips right through it. I'm sure it's only supposed to take a few seconds. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Point me in the right direction? I'd really really appreciate it! Thanks!
Did you run cf auto root yet? Or did you try exynos abuse app? Once rooted just use rom manager to install recovery. When I rooted mine I didnt even use my pc

I've never used that method, I've seen that method in the OP of the How to root T889 thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955423. Are you aware if it's up to date? If so, I'll try this
Cf auto will work for sure. Exynos abuse is easer because its on your phone but doesnt always work.

I'm simply trying to install root, that's all. (CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip unzipped, then PDA the CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5 file) Once I get root, I can flash CWM myself, I've never had problems rooting before. It's always been with Odin, using pda, selecting the .tar file, and it'll simply root, and flash CWM, but if I could just get root, I'd be happy.

Developer options have been turned on, USB debugging is enabled, it is connected as a media device (MTP). I power it down, use the Volume Down+Home+Power combo, hit volume up to enter download mode. Hook it up to PC, open up Odin 3.07. Odin recognizes the Note 2 is there as it displays the COM:04 on the left. The only options checked is auto-reboot and f. reset time (default settings). I click PDA and I select the CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5 file, I've tried the Note2-CWM-6.0.4.3-SGH-T889.tar file, I've tried multiple different .tar's and .md5's. They all hang up in Odin and my phone doesn't leave the Downloader screen. Is there anything I'm supposed to do BEFORE all of this that I'm just clumsily not remembering?! Thanks in advance!

I cannot get to CWM which I did have on 4.1.1
I can only get to download / ODIN mode (vol down, home, power.) So I downloaded Odin 3.07 (the newest i think)
I downloaded KIES_HOME_I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4_578342_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 (AFTER A LOT OF SEARCHING!)
I can get Odin to see my phone, com4, I put the above file in PDA and eventually get this....

Hey, I used to flash my phone like 3-4x a week and the I bricked it, this video helped me get back on my feet, hope it helps. Just go from there as a base and then you flash whatever you need to install on your phone. Good luck!

Looks like my phone needs to be re-partitioned also? I am completely lost. Reading some of the threads that might mean my internal memory went dead. Anyone?

Yes to all 3.... I read something about SDS (Sudden death syndyronme) on galaxy phones. I think that's what happened. I really don't know but I cannot flash anything without needing pit file.

Can you post what it says on Download mode screen? Also, is it OTA update from At&t? If so may be it updated your bootloader version to 4.3. So, try to flash 4.3 rom (may be you can try stock).
Thanks for the reply, I will try a 4.3 rom

Yes, AT&T kept telling me I needed to update. I would try to kill the screen but it would keep popping up over and over. So I finally let it download with the intention never installing it. I guess it did it without my knowledge.

I finally got ODIN to make some progress... But I do not know what to do from here. Picture attached.

Ok, Can you try to flash new stock rom? You can follow here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
Also, make sure that you don't flash "AT&T i317 ODIN 4.3 UCUBMJ4 (Leak) Bootloader & TZ (AT&T Note 2 ONLY)" bootloader as this bootloader is only for 4.3 leaded version.
Failed

When Odin fails, are you getting any message on the phone itself? If you look in the top left corner it should display some information. Mine will usually give me a message when Odin fails.

I'm "guessing" you may be having a problem with the ota bootloader. I've seen luck with this thread in restoring a soft bricked phone due to trying to flash from the ota 4.3 to the leaked 4.3:

Do you have pit file? If so try to give all files together in Odin -
pit file in "PIT" & select re-partition checkbox
ROM in "PDA"
and try to flash.

Hello,
First, my note 2 stuck at boot logo.
When i try to enter recovery stuck about 15 seconds on logo after that says with red failed to mount /efs (no such file or directory) ; failed to mount /system (no such file or directory); failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory) ; failed to mount /cacahe/recovery/last_recovery (no such file or directory) ; failed to mount /data (no such file or directory).
I read that it would be something about a "rescue fireware" was a topic on the XDA forum but no link was not working.
Please help me fast!
Thx!

Hey, sorry for hijacking your thread.
I have the same problem. I tried many different scenarios and I couldn't fix it. I gave up and went to Samsung and after 48hs I called finding out that they refused to fix it. Talked to the IT guy and he said he has no idea how to fix it and told me the only fix is to change the whole motherboard and he said its not suggested to do so as its expensive. I have no idea what I should do. I flashed custom recovery, stock recovery. Tried to separate the whole firmware and flash it piece by piece using the skipsoft tool. I tried flashing PIT files with custom recovery, stock recovery, stock rom I have tried multiple PIT files from multiple websites.
This happens when I try flashing stock rom downloaded by samfirm or sammobile.

It will keep doing this forever until I unplug the cable. I'm running stock Kitkat 4.4.2 but all methods I find are for older versions with different bootloaders yet I still tried them as there are no recent fix from what I can find.
In the first situation, the sboot.bin causes an error because the bootloader in the ROM is older than the phone's current bootloader.
Did you try flashing the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com using Odin 3.07 in the PDA slot? Sammobile.com ROMs should only be unzipped once to yield a tar.md5 file and flashed in the PDA slot.
Tried different USB cables and USB ports?

Yes I did all that. Same error. If I extract the tar file and do another odin flashable tar using skipsoft tool it doesnt work, removing one file at a time didnt work either. I tried the latest on sammobile, the latest on sammobile for my country, and the latest from Samfirm for my country. I also tried using SmartSwitch and Kies recovery using the serial number and model number and they don't recognise the phone during downloading like about 60% of downloading it will show an error that it doesnt recognise it.
When flashing the sammobile.com tar.md5 file in Odin's PDA/AP slot, do you receive an error message? If yes, what is the error?

The ROM being flashed has a bootloader that is too old or the ROM is not meant for the phone.
The model # for the phone has been confirmed as being a gt-n7100 on the Odin screen?

Hello,
I am unable to flash stock firmware back to my J200GU with Odin since it always gives me a fail.
So I was trying to flash directly on TWRP or ADB sideload but I always get an error with my zip firmwares.
Does anyone knows where to get the zip firmwares ready for ADB sideload or TWRP?
Sorry if it is a stupid question but I am really newb on this.
Thanks.

I have tried what you recomended and TWRP proceeds to install hydrarom, however it is installed very fast and when it reboots i am stuck at bootloop. I believe it has sucessfully installed hydra but not the stock rom I wanted.
I have currently no OS on my phone or any firmaware so my guess is that to be able to install this custom roms (hydra and noble) i need to already have a stock firmware an this will be just an add on. Correct me if I am wrong.
Are the firmwares from SAMMOBILE ready to be used on TWRP? I am starting to think the are not to be used on TWRP but ODIN instead, but ODIN always gives me a fail. SO my question is: IS there a way to make roms downloaded from SAMMOBILE install on TWRP or adb sideload? Any guide about this?
Thanks. I appreciate any help since I have my J2 completly useless now
