Back about a month ago, I dropped my One V on the sidewalk, breaking the screen. I ordered another screen, and it came today, but I'm not too sure how to replace it. I'm not too great when it comes to things like this, and I watched the video as well. I don't want to do a full dissasembly, but will if necessary. Any help is appreciated!!

best way is to go to HTC centre and get it repaired

see, I was planing to sell my MT3GS, but I had to get down from a 3 meter high sealing for a show, and when I was practicing how to get up there fast I forgot to get the phone out of my pocket, so I got up there, and when I sat down, it fell to the floor (I was sitting in a really thing place).
Luckily, the floor was wooden, and the screen didn't break, actually it works (and slides) perfectly well.
BUT the problem is that now the screen (the part you slide so you can use the keyboard) is kinda separated from the keyboard, I can press and it goes back to it's place, but as soon as I stop pressing down, it separates again.. I was wondering how can I fix this, and if a simple disassembly (and re-assembly) would fix this.
omg, I really wanna fix it, this phone is REALLY special for me!! (I bought it on my first trip w/ friends to the US)..

Its easiest to have HTC fix it, or just get it replaced.
get it replaced?
that will work if you like the SLIDE, but if you want THAT PARTICULAR phone, try to get it fixed with HTC

how much would I have to pay for it? And how can I contact them? (SORRY, for being such a dummy, and thank you for wasting your time helping me)
$90 (USD) for full replacement, so i guess it would be less for fix

About 1 month ago I sadly broke my Samsung Galaxy SII just after changing my contract from Voda to Three.
I since contacted Three to get a issue with my sim only deal sorted which allowed me to upgrade early. (after the first 3 months) It did however take a few calls to and from the exec office to get this sorted since the calls to the usual call centre are worthless.
Anyway after all that I finally received my early upgrade which was a HTC One X. To be honest I didn't really want this as I was trying to wait for the Galaxy SIII, however I couldn't do without a phone for so long and wasn't aware of the SIII release date back then. After receiving my HTC One X I was REALLY impressed with it, the screen, sound, appearance were all excellent. After using the phone for a few days I noticed the haptic feedback buttons were making a bit too much of noise and not the usual shock vibration it was doing when I first got it. I contacted Three who arranged a doorstep exchange for me. Once the new phone arrived I used the phone for another few days only for more problems to slowly start appearing. The screen itself started to not come on when I was pressing the lock button, the lights were lighting up but the screen was not coming up. I have to constantly keep pressing the lock button over and over to try get it on. The screen itself also just start flickering around and then just blurrs up like the resolution is screwing up so all the icons are on top of eachother and the only way to get it off is by locking it and unlocking it. I have no idea as to why it happened. I have a protective case around it with a screen protector on the screen too. It has never been dropped or treated poorly so I was bemused.
I decided to contact Three again as this was not right. The first person I spoke to told me to take the phone to my local Three store and they will put it in for repair. I decided to contact them back a few hours later to explain I didn't want this and was not happy to get another HTC or that one replaced. This customer service advisor was a lot more helpful and explained I could have another doorstep exchange for another handset since the first 2 HTC's have not functioned as they should. Since I now knew the released date of the SIII I told the advisor I would rather wait for the SIII and he told me that it was fine and would be delivered on the 1st June. All I had to do was box the HTC up and hand it over to the courier on the day my new one arrives.
Thought I would share my problems with the HTC One X along with saying I will NEVER touch another HTC Would add if people are lucky enough to get a working HTC and have no issues then fair play, the phone was nice and had excellent features
Cheers,
Luke

Mate you should contact them back once the phone goes back and say you are not willing to have another HTC as they keep on going. It always differ from each customer service advisor to another with Three, one says one thing and another says different lol

could do..but that means putting money as well in which i really can not afford right now...so one x is the next best thing. so two things.
either it comes back brand spanking new.
they offer me an exchange (which means either brand new handset or can choose what phone i want)
Got my one x a month ago today and it's been working perfectly, anything wrong solved by software updates. Love it, greatest phone ever, & I personally think it's better than the s3 (from video impressions). Saying that the two phones are such beasts its all down to personal preference, so I wish you luck with the s3!

It's a real shame about the phone though because when it was working it is up there with the best for sure. If this had not been my 2nd faulty HTC then I would of taken it back but it just doesn't seem like the HTC One X was the one for me
Look forward to getting my S3 though after the S2 was a big fave of mine. Even if they give you the HTC back repaired or just send you a new one are you happy to accept that? If not have you thought about contacting the executive office and speaking to them? I found them to be a greater help when dealing with issues.
Thanks,
Luke

Well. Depending on what they say to me. If they say we are sending you the handset back and it is repaired and i know when i check it instore it is build like a brick wall then i will keep it as i still think it is a top phone and i already have like a few cases for it. now if they say we can send you a replacement then i will ask if i can go for a different handset ie the s3. if they say no and it has to be the same phone then i will just get the one x....i really can not say till the day comes.
perfect world would be to offer me a different handset if i was not happy with getting a different one x. if they just say they will replace like for like then i still be a happy guy no matter what but i would prefer the s3
My 4 Month old HOX has developed a horizontal bar shaped area in the middle of the screen which is dead to touch!
Used the pointer trace in development tools to confirm this.
have re-locked and stocked the ROM for return, does anybody think i'll have any problems with warranty??
As it has to go directly back to HTC for repair...
As its a hardware fault I'm hoping not....
Cheers
Well, it all.depends on where you purchased it.
After 4 months, a repair is the most likely course of action.

Regardless of the possibility of your phone being rejected on the basis that the bootloader was unlocked, you should still give it a shot. Give it to HTC.
Did you drop it? If I'm right, its the digitizer that's messed up.

Give it to the Service Center. It could be a loose cable to the digitizer or something. Anyways there's a good chance they'll fix it, Good Luck.
Had the same issue with nexus s. Middle line dead. Was really sorry cause was a new phone. One day my gf made the bad and static electricity stuck on her fingers and after she moved the phone. Once she touched. It it made a sparkle. I swear the phone got rid of the dead line. Either I was lucky or maybe it just need it a push.

I had the same problem with my first HOX. I send it back and they replaced
My father-in-law recently bought an S3 and his screen cracked in the corner. He called it in and they said that they would replace it for him for $XX, and that he didn't need to send in the broke one. This is what he told me the insurance people said to him mind you, I've never heard of anything like that before but who knows. The phone still works perfectly but the cracked screen is an eye sore for such a great looking phone.
I want to see if he will sell me his screen cracked phone but that's only if I'm able to get it fixed. So........ [Q] Is there anywhere to send the phone in to get a new screen? And if so.... Does anyone know around how much it'll run?
I appreciate any legitimate info anyone can give me.
I know the iphone 4s the screens were $100 to get fixed. So at least twice that.

what they do is send you a replacement and in the same box you place your old one. if not they will give you information on what store or samsung place to go where they will fix it for you in about 15 min. like actually replace the screen only. since it is insured most of it will be covered except for about 100$ roughly.
Hi, on Friday 9/23/16 my friend in school thought it was a great idea to play a joke one me and steal my phone and run away with it so I could chase him around for it to make him look "funny."
In the process while he was running he dropped my OP3 which I got 2 weeks before and the screen is shattered. Now the device still functions but I just can't deal with a broken screen especially when I recently got the device. My friend is paying me back but what is my best option? Get the screen repaired? Get a new OP3? I honestly don't know.
If you could help me out that would be great.
Thanks
I can't post a picture as I have only made 1 - 2 posts on here, if there is any was I can post a picture let me know.
Get a new friend, contact oneplus and they will fix it, or try to see if any local shops can fix it, it seemed pretty easy to take apart
Or you can sell it to me ?
