[Q] MIUI V5 # Battery and volume buttons - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I've flash my Arc S with the MIUI V5 and with fusion kernel, everything works great, except the volume buttons (every time I hit them the phone restart, also if I choose the silent option as well), and the battery drains to damn quick, not even 1 day and its gone. Also found the bug every time after the boot when we are asked to insert the pin code the phone restart (just turn off the the pin code security).
Anyone? Thanks in advance!
Best Regards.

Miui v5 is kinda new and one of the most heavy roms to run. So the battery drain is normal.
Bugs, are you using the latest release of rom?

(ROM) MessyMiui 2.9.14 - Develpment Stopped

Well here is a Miui rom that I will be maintaining and adding to over the weeks.
I will be collecting a number of mods and adding them to the ROM as the new miui release comes out. Things will change with the ROM as we progress as I develop it I will add new stuff to customise it even more and make it stand out.
The name MessyMiui is because I am not really a developer more of a Messer, I love to mess and see what I can learn and make.
This Week:
Dolby Sound
Xperia Beats
Thanks
Knight47 Xperia Beats http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1734627
Miui
Miuiandroid for the base ROM
More tweaks planned for system, sound and picture tell me what other tweaks you would like and I will do my best to include them in my weekly releases
*I am not responsible if you brick your phone, drop you coffee or miss your morning alarm, I have only tried this on my phone and it has unlocked bootloader so not sure if works on locked bootloader*

Have been using MiUi over a month and I'm loving it. But I always missed some things.
I wonder if I can make some requests here for the ROM.
Hope "flashing it on top of the latest MiUi without wiping data" goes smoothly. Good work btw.

MIUI is pretty hungry though. I'd prefer if the ROM was more cleaned up so everything runs smoother and more memory was available.

The best of luck and happy flashing
i like this rom!!
bug free, battery friendly ( i used it 1 day and i have still over 50 %) and very beatiful themes and wallpapers!!
Also using this version ... but since updated from normal rom only difference i could found was beats and Dolby.
Any other feature i could check?
Can i suggest wake phone with volume keys... normal miui does not have this option and i can't understand why...

Anyway chance to update the base firware to 6.1.A.2.45?
That in itself will free up memory and make better performance overall.
Thanks!!
how about separate beats/dolby addon from your rom or make it as optional addon ? might try on your rom later..good work

I flashed it 12 hours ago Everything seems fine, previous nightly i used was 7-20121209, that was great too..
Now not sure but i think that battery life is very improved I did not OCed or changed governor, everything i "stock" CM7 (kinda strange i did not OCed ) but its fast, very fast, even without OC.
If you disable boot animation, i got it booted in like 50 seconds!!!
I had 44% of battery, after 12 hours came down to 6%, i did few reboots, instaled all apps i use (like 20-25 apps) did full routine customization,
sleept a bit and chated via viber and facebook, still for me too good battery life Will test it more of course. For me its kinda bugless.
(Btw, anyone experienced sound problems, like once in a day no sound, maybe after using camera or something on CM7
latest stable build cm-7.2.0? Reboot and it works. Also happen to me on all CM7 stable based roms. On nightlys its fine)

GloryROM (Base on V20С EU O2)

Hi! I know many people using STOK ROMs because its stable.
So I just did little MOD of stok ROM every day use.
Features:
- Removed SW SecurityLock. So you never dont see "Security Error". Now you can do with ROM everything, can remove difference apps, modify apps, framework, do difference soft-mod and other.... ;
- Deleted old GAps, and added new;
- Deleted trash apps;
- Soft-touch touchscreen;
- Added support for init.d script;
- Added init.local.rc, in userspace, now you can add different service and change parameters for example SDCard cache (1mb now) or turn-on/off. KSM, and other;
- Rework STOK kernel, base on sources P930 (AT&T):
- minimum no needed path only system optimizations;
- few new shedulers;
- few new governos;
- reduced power consumption;
- turn-on SWAP, if you need it I can give script for it;
- turn-on KSM;
- turn-on zRAM and other stuff;
- Default frequency - 1 512mhz;
- Default shedulers - dead-line;
- Default governos - performans;
- Added LG-LED-notifications and IME from 4.1, superuser and other.
No modem inside, use it what you like, I am using 20f.
Download:
http://dfiles.ru/files/j7msfxxxo
my device on 1512 in Antitu show me OVER 8100.
coming from you, at least it is worth to try it. downloading now. if its enough fast for me, i might use it as daily driver. cm9 and cm10 still have serious issues with random reboots and BSODs. i have been with your CM10 almost since day 1, great rom besides the battery drain.
Very fast, but incompatible with Wind-Kernel 3.0.

You dont need it. Current kernel is not worse then Wind-Kernel!
Later I will make CrazyKernel for it with CPU O/C and real GPU O/C. Our Andreno 220 have 266mhz by default. I can increase it to 400mhz - its maximum for Andreno 220. But Kernel will have very small battery life. So need choose for what you need ROM, for every day using or just for playing games with charger.
Just report. I am comfortable with the good battery life. Thank you.
Baseband
So this rom is based on v20 .... can i still run it and have signals under v10 ?
rom pretty stable, just like stock is. dunno if it has only happened to me but stock lg roms seem to have less sensitive digitizer. HO!NO!'s v20 and att stock is same, just like this one.
overall the rom is great besides the common "lag" on lg stock roms for this device.
el_venga
open RootExplorer
system\usr\idc\touch_dev.idc
or in other ROMs it can be system\usr\idc\synaptics_ts.idc

touch.size.scale = ??? - find you digit what you like

touch.pressure.scale = ??? find you digit what you like
Thanks for making this rom, do I have to unbrick first, since this is based on stock rom?

If you are under sotck ICS, yes you have to use an unbrick method to get back to GingerBread since when LG rolled out the ICS update, it locked the bootloader as well. I also did that and it works, i used heretics unbrick method, very easy if you follow the step accordingly.
I've been using GloryROM since shortly after it was posted. So far, it's been very stable with excellent battery life. I installed by "dirty flashing" over HO!NO! P930 Bell Official V20f. I'm very happy with it and plan on sticking with this ROM for awhile. Loving the stability! :good:
Did the touch screen modification and I feel it better, although could be placebo effect. Btw awesome battery life. I'm still on 70% with my regular use in about 12 hours. By this time I was usually about 40%.

[Q] What Custom ROM are you on, and for how long?

As the title suggests, what custom firmware (or even stock) are you using on your Xperia S? How long have you been using it and what do you like the most about it?
Personally I've been using FXP's CM10 (currently on 209 now) for at least about 3-4 months now and although I really love how smooth and fast everything is sometimes I miss the stock apps from sony like the camera app and sometimes even the look and feel of the stock rom and ofcourse stability.
I tried Paranoid Android about a month ago but quickly went back to CM10.
How about you guys?
Hi
Thanks for this usefull thread... I am using XZX2 done by niaboc79 as my custom rom.. Previously i am on XTX7 by the same niaboc79. I tried all the custom rom.. Around 8 . But this one is the most superb and beautiful rom i ever used. Its feels like a Xperia Z in my hand... Superb rom. No problem for me still now.. All the games are working very smoothly... I like this rom very very much...

I've seen that XZX rom a couple of times but i've been pretty iffy in trying it out (since it involves a full factory wipe, and a stock rom if i remember correctly)
I'm using XTXperience 1 rom made by niaboc79, I 'm going to try CM soon

Suggest ROM for better battery life!

Hi Guys,
Please suggest a custom stable ROM for best battery life. I have Samsung Wonder which i think is not very old and has very good battery. I recently rooted it and installed CyanogenMod 10.1, this ROM is great and on full charge it gives around 12-13 hours of battery life with Wifi On.
I normally turn On wifi and email exchange application, so please let me know if we have more option to increase battery life.
Thanks all
I suggest you One of a Kind.

This device doesn´t support auto brightness. Neither in the stock ROM, nor in custom ROMs. There is simply no light sensor to support autobrightness. This device only offers a proximity sensor which also works in CM9 and this is telling me you have no clue what you are talking about.

So just because you faced some flickering while browsing you are claiming this ROM is not stable?
I assure you it´s way more stable than a stock ROM can be and this flickering means nothing. Probably the most unstable part is located in front of the LCD and pressed some buttons while browsing.
This is a screenshoot of my CM9 and it can last up to 7 days with one charge:
i am sorry honeyx that I posted my short experience of using this ROM
