I flashed it 12 hours ago Everything seems fine, previous nightly i used was 7-20121209, that was great too..
Now not sure but i think that battery life is very improved I did not OCed or changed governor, everything i "stock" CM7 (kinda strange i did not OCed ) but its fast, very fast, even without OC.
If you disable boot animation, i got it booted in like 50 seconds!!!
I had 44% of battery, after 12 hours came down to 6%, i did few reboots, instaled all apps i use (like 20-25 apps) did full routine customization,
sleept a bit and chated via viber and facebook, still for me too good battery life Will test it more of course. For me its kinda bugless.
(Btw, anyone experienced sound problems, like once in a day no sound, maybe after using camera or something on CM7
latest stable build cm-7.2.0? Reboot and it works. Also happen to me on all CM7 stable based roms. On nightlys its fine)

which roms do u guys like the most? and please say why?
i am currently using HOTSAUCE ROM and loving it. but battery life was draining way to quick.
VIDEO TAKING WAS LIMITED to 30 minutes.
so i installed Virtuous v0.9.0 Sense but wasnt very customizable so i switched back to HOTSAUCE ROM.
also has unlimited time for VIDEO TAKING.
(video is important to me)
GingerVillain 1.5
Why?
I like gingerbread, it's fast, OC'd @ 1,4 GHZ and battery life is pretty good.
CyanogenMod. It's the best. 'nuff said.

select the link in the post, advanced kernel allows OC to 1.49ghz but requires setcpu parameters.
I've tried a lot of roms, and let me say that Virtuous is an awesome rom if you like the Sense UI. Awesome. I just had a problem with one app fc'ing all the time, so I started trying others. I am staying on the Cyanogen Nightlies, because they run so quickly and smoothly, especially with pershoot kernel.
I have not tried GingerVillain since I'm having so much fun with the nightlies.

CM7 build #20 at the moment, runs sweet, gingerbread, very customizable, and it's receiving updates constantly, by the time you read this, I won't be probaly on the same build.
For my own personal needs, I need a video camera that can
focus when touched.
And the only rom I can do this on is Virtuous.
But battery life on Virtuous isn't as decent as Cyonagen.
I need a rom with Cyonagen battery life and Virtuous camera options.
And suggestions??

I get awesome battery life running Virtuous 0.9.5 and the Standard v2.1.1 kernel. What version of Virtuous and what kernel are you using? I don't need anything over 1.0 GHz, and not going over that gives me superb battery life without skimping on performance.

What version of the kernel are you running? The latest is 2.1.1. If you initially installed Virtuous 1.0.0 and upgraded to 1.0.1, I believe the kernel version is different. I'd recommend flashing the 2.1.1 standard kernel if that's not what is currently installed on your phone.
Do you have lots of widgets on your homescreens? Just not sure why you're not getting good battery life.

The question about porting the Sense camera to CM or other ROMs has been asked a bunch of times on these forums. It hasn't been done yet, that I know of. It would be great. The Sense camera is excellent, and just about the only thing I miss from the Sense ROM.

Say no to Cm7 and Cm9. you cannot pass a day: with only modrate useage. and there are lots of bugs in both. Use Rom with Stock functions having root permissions.

Same here...with cm7.2 i have the best live on the battery..with music..10 cools a day and some min of playng games my battery last at least 3-4 days.
I use SmartAssV2...only
Yeahh... Only thing that you really can do to save your battery is to underclock your processor. The best setup in my opinion is: (But you can correct me)
*Main - 806 MAX - 245 MIN - SmartassV2
*Screen Off - 245 MAX - 122 MIN - Ondemand
*Temp > 49.5C - 320 MAX - 122 MIN - SmartassV2
*Charging - 806 MAX - 320 MIN - SmartassV2
*Battery < 16% - 672 MAX - 122 MIN - SmartassV2
Other thing is deep sleep which is on CM9 now but i have no experience on that.
Battery depends on your usage, your cpu freq, apps that running in background, and last thing i feel very draining my battery is mobile data. Try switch to 2g if you didn't need data to much.
Well for Rom I'm using phiex cm7 and my battery life is about 2 days for standard using and about 12 hours if I'm fully playing with my phone

CyanogenMod 7.2 (unofficial) by KANG and phiexz is really great. the phone is really fast, stable and battery lasts a long time, more than ever before!
given that Android stock ROM 2.3.3 was a big improvement over 2.3.2, with 2.3.7 from CM7 and all of the neat things it adds, it just runs on steroids
very pleased =)

+1!
I am use the CyanogenMod 7.2 (unofficial) by KANG since RC1-b1 version, it wasn't great at that time, system obvious lag and I have to use the CPU profile 'smart.v2' on CM setting-performance, then I can't get pushed email anymore.
I installed the latest version of CyanogenMod 7.2 by KANG 20120325 this morning, it's works like a charm, no lag in default settings, really good battery time and stable. The only concern is the average available memory are about 60 MB when the Dell Voice, Hotmail, GMail running in the background.
I'm running Android Gingerbread 2.3.6(stock XXKTF) and optimized with the ROM Toolbox, and it works very well, I swore that I would never reinstall any custom ROMs because of those little bugs(data,wi-fi not working, crashes and many others). I've tried CyanogenMod 7.2, 9 and GioPro v1.6 and I've been disappointed.
I use cm7.2 and im having no problems with battry or unstable rom. I can use 1 battery 2-3 days, alwqys connected to wifi.

Any Sense ROM
I get 36 hours using it normally on any Sense ROM (2.1, 3.0 or 3.5)
etc. ncessuch
I have dont have the most experience but of the roms I have tried, I found MokeeOS to have the best battery life - about 36 hours with texts, facebook & email checking and maps use.
I have used the following ROMs
1. stock sense
2. MIUI-AU
3.MIUI-XJ
4. MIUI Mararge
5. MokeeOS
6. Jellybean pre-alfa
I like MokeeOS the best but really like some of Jelly Beans features even though not everything works

Hmmm, in general Sense ROMs are the most battery-draining of all, especially the 3 and 3.5 ones (just imagine that the stock Desire came with just a version of Sense 1.0).
Rule of thumb is that the more "stripped" the ROM, the better the battery life will be. Therefore any AOSP ROM will generate maximum battery life.
It depends, but you can try any of the miui ROMs, or if you prefer sense ROMs you can try aurora.
A AOSP like oxygen or CM based rom should be fine.
For CM based kernels use ManU HAVS BFS Kernel or CronMod Kernel. Both are great oh battery!
For oxygen use Thalamus kernel or mod8 (which is the same thing with Smartass cpu governor).

I use CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) by Olddroid and with some tweaks that I made (froze some system apps and disabled autostart entries) I got 185MB of free RAM when I boot into Android. And I can tell you that it works flawlessly. On my phone it's faster than stock Android ROM. And don't bother benchmark scores. They don't always indicate that your system is slow.
For my is AOKP jb-mr1 (jb+) by erikcas http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173572
Very stable, is my every day rom

I froze all the apps that I don't use. When I boot my phone, it uses only about 90-95 MB of RAM and by the way I'm using a Jelly Bean (4.2.2) ROM. I also prevented apps from running in the background so they don't drain my battery's juice. I underclocked the CPU to 748 MHz and selected smartassv2 & SIO.
I'm using stock battery.
I used Autostarts and System Tuner apps to make all that tweaks. Be careful. Don't disable Fused Location, System UI and Android System.
