[Q] Sony Arc is not detecting the battery - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Sony Arc LT15a. One night it died, I charged the phone and when I started it up it was stock in a boot loop only displaying the Sony Ericsson logo. I brought it to a phone repair guy. He, I assumed flashed it with new firmware which was LT15i. So it worked and boots up but now the phone no longer detects the battery. I have another Sony Arc and tested the cable and the battery. They both work fine on the other phone. I downloaded the flashtool 9.10.1 and a generic rom for North America 4.04 Ice cream sandwich. It flashed the phone and everything updated fine. The phone now says its Model LT15a, Android 4.0.4, build number 4.1.B.0.587, Kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf. The phone is still not connecting to the battery. So my question is this a firmware issue? or a physical issue with the phone? Any help, suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did the repair guy flash the firmware?

I think that he flashed it since the phone went from being a LT15A to a LT15I. I was able to use the flashtool and get it back to a LT15A though. Do you think this might be a Firmware issue then?

It can be that he installed a older firware, that leads to battery issue.
If you got open bootloader try to flash a kernel with battery patch

For another guide google "xperia arc testpoint"
Or you can google sony unlock and do it the official way. But you will lose drm.
I prefer the first, testpoint

[SOLVED] [Q] Where can I find my phone's original firmware?

TL;DR version available at the bottom of the post.
Hello, I have a Sony Xperia Play model R800at from AT&T that originally ran 2.3.3 out of the box, and I read that you can root a Sony Xperia Play by flashing the firmware to 2.3.2 then rooting it and afterwards upgrading back to 2.3.3.
So here's the kicker, I mistakenly downloaded the 2.3.2 firmware for the Sony Xperia Arc, and my phone refused to boot after flashing. Next, I downloaded 2.3.2 firmware for Sony Xperia Play from here, and after flashing that my phone was able to boot but "android.process.media" is force closing every few seconds.
I gave up on trying to root my phone and just wanted to make my phone normal again so I went in search of my phone's original firmware in order to flash that in hopes of bringing the phone back to normal and stopping "android.process.media" from crashing so much. So after searching up and down and high and low for my original R800at 2.3.3 firmware from AT&T, I couldn't find it anywhere! Does anybody have it or does anybody know how to fix my phone?
TL;DR: Stupidly flashed wrong firmware, can't find right firmware to flash. Firmware I'm looking for: USA Sony Xperia Play model R800at Android version 2.3.3 from AT&T.
Just flash the north American 2.3.3. Its way better then the att version.

Can you please tell me where I may get that firmware from?
EDIT: Will it come with the bloatware that came with my phone? Because I got different bloatware when I flashed the generic UK firmware and believe it or not I miss my old bloatware.
Not much bloat really. It's in the development section I think.

Apparently my phone was still under warranty, so I sent it in and got a new one for free so everything is all fine and dandy now. Of course, I didn't tell them that my phone was acting up because I flashed the firmware.

Which phone you've got? The official ICS update is currently available only in Nordic countries, so it's normal not to be able to install it yet, if you don't have a phone bought from there.

Im trying to flash the nordic ics with flashtool but im having no luck. i figured it might be because i have doomkernel v21 on my phone. i closed seus and restarted it and all models are showing again. however when im trying to reinstall the firmware i have already via seus or pcc i get an error and so now im stuck.

[Q] How can I repair my phone after update that broke my Xperia Play?

So, I update my phone (Xperia PLAY) from Android 2.3.4, 4.0.A.2.368 to Android 2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42 on my phone, when there was notification for updates. It downloaded updates and turn the screen on with some kind of package. It loaded in little time. And when I tried turn on phone there is only vibration and green flash on power button. What can I do? Plz help me, I have lost the warrant and I dont know is there any guarantee for my phone!
P.S: I've tried that repair thing in PC Companion and it says The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated.
Sorry for bad English.

If this doesn't work try flashing stock rom with flashtool.
Thanks a lot!
I love u guys that some flashtool worked!
But I have now that 4.0.A.2.368 and I want some normal updateble version like 4.0.2.A.0.42 Not any modified version. Do u know where I can get one?
thanks really, I thought that my phone was broken. I broke my last phone (ZTE Blade) and I didn't want to break this one.
If you need .42 i have it saved on my pc. Pm me and i'll send it to you. If you want to be able to update over the air you need to lock your bootloader again.

[Q] Xperia Arc (running Arc S 4.0.3) unable to repair+battery drain.

Hello theeere. New member here. I've used this site a whole bunch to get help before, but now I'm experiencing a problem that I haven't seen posted before! Sure, battery drainage is pretty common. I found a thread saying that I should open PC Companion 2.1 and repair my phone, but when I get to the part where I hold the back button and plug it in, my laptop gets a message saying there is no update found, even though I clicked repair. Any idea on whats going on?
Have you unlocked your bootloader and what firmware or rom are you in?
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
The bootloader is not unlocked, and I'm using the official Sony Xperia Arc S ICS 4.0.3 firmware
If you can't get the official method to work, perhaps you'd be better downloading the official firmware .ftf and applying it via flashtool. Both can be found under the development forum.
Meant to say, you don't have to unlock the bootloader to do it this way, as it's still the official firmware.
How do I unlock the bootloader/root? I wanna do this:

[Q] Xperia Arc S Lt18i : Root Problem

I have a Bootloader Unlocked Xperia arc S lt18i. I want to root my phone and want to install CM10 Jelly Bean. On the Process I have flashed LT15a xperia arc kernel (generic) on my arc s. Not it is showing lt15a in about phone. I tried to root via this method "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874801" I did as mentioned but the cmd program shows me that "more than one device and emmulator" Now what should i do ? My phone has almost crashed flashes messages like keypad is not working and all that stuff. Please suggest me something usefull to root my phone and if not then how to revert back this arc kernel to stock factory one. Also PC Companion doesn't detect my phone. Please do needfull. I m trapped...
Simply flash a ready rooted kernel with flashtool! A word of warning tho, arc s throws a fit when you play ram consuming games and drops out! Could be a better kernel on its way, I rooted did what I had to(removed bloatware ect) then re-flashed stock kernel, ALL IS ROSEY N SWEET!
