Is there a way to modify AndroidEmoji file or something else on a rooted S4 to change the Emoticons to be similar to the traditional yellow smiley types?

I like the standard black homescreen of manila tf3d and dont want to change the look. But i would like if the incoming call button on homescreen (under the big clock) would change its colour. So i could see with only 1 short look if a phonecall arrived. Now only the text change, but letters and symbol stay in same white letters. How could i change this? (similar as the SMS or mailbutton: if message arrive symbol change to green colour).
Dont know, maybe already a new theme exist with this feature, but i dont want to change the complete theme. (checked the manila editor thread but could not find solution)
hear, hear
year that would be great
How to indicate when I have a missed call by changing colour of missed call button? Which manila file is responsible for this?
Who knows?
where are the manila experts?

its home.mode9 aka 1c684cd8_manila
Thanks, man.
And how to change to get what i want?
With your new tool? Pls. advice.
I mean, for example, if I was to make the active text fields black background, and the font white as you're typing, that'd be awesome.
Does anyone know if there is that functionality in theming? Possibly an XML file
(or smali?)

it depends on the build..... Samsung loves to change the framework folder..... The text field would be in the tw/framework-res folders as a luster of .png's.... Im pretty sure the font color would be an xml..... I could be wrong or right, still depending on the build number....
I think it's possible, but it'd take a lot of trial and error

I'm a noob, so I do not understand any of it so I asked for help to you on the forum. Just someone to tell me what files to modify or how to implement smileys
Not super familiar with MIUI, but in AOSP they are in Mms.apk in the /res/drawable-xhdpi/ folder. I believe start with emo or something along those lines.

Yes, I know, but in this case the smileys are in framework-res.apk, the problem is that, the application of the messages doesn't associate the text with smiley

because I don't want to change them but I would like that instead of the simple text "" is shown smiley
This is an example taken from another miui rom. It doesn't appear the smiley but only the text
I found the file that handles the coding smiley, now someone with a bit of knowledge in java can edit this file so that I appear when I type the text smileys? I don't care emoji but only the smileys. I attach this file and those of the rom CyanogenMod. Thanks
Is there a way to remove the Long press Numbers and Symbols from the standard Samsung Keyboard?
What is weird is that I've seen videos on Youtube with clean Samsung keyboard, with no long press symbols or character on the letters or numbers, so I do not understand why my phone has those, see attached print screen. "+ on the Q", "= on the E", "@ on the A", etc.
Thanks
Please can somebody confirm if the T-Mobile phone comes with long press numbers and symbols on the keyboard by default?, I've seen multiple marketing video with clean keyboard, so maybe the international version of the phone uses a different keyboard
Hell ... I need secondary symbols but they disappeared
My samsung keyboard is all white ... without symbols ... just letters
and I need the symbols ... dont know why they wont show up
If anyone have solution then let me know

You need root and system mount r/w. Go to /system/csc and remove this line from feature.xml and/or others.xml files:
Code:
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>en_US</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>
Or just remove "en_US" leaving the tags value empty. Reboot and enjoy clean keyboard.

Hi.. My symbols dissappeared too. Also my little arrow to accept a word. Did you ever figure this out?
Do you use xposed mods? I installed Wanam xposed mod yesterday and seen my symbols were gone. I checked to make sure the Enable symbols was check marked after I change some of the other settings and they came back.

You have to edit or replace /system/csc/feature.xml
If you have installed new rom then get its feature.xml from zip file and overwrite it with proper permissions,
Otherwise you have to edit feature.xml
Thats how I done it.
following link have step by step info

I tried using the Emoji switcher app but that didn't work. I've also tried flashing emoji zips, but that didn't work neither.
EDIT: I managed to get it to work by renaming hTC_ColorEmoji.ttf to TC_ColorEmoji.ttf so the phone wouldn't be able to find the HTC emojis. But then I noticed that there were a few emojis that were black and white. So I went /system/etc and followed the steps from here (in the spoilers). All the new emojis show up just fine now, but I can't get the diverse skin tones to show up like I was able to on my Galaxy S6 Edge, if anyone could help me out with that. I would greatly appreciate it!
your keyboard has to support the skin tones. if you have the latest version of the google keyboard it supports them with a long press of the emojis that have skin tone alternatives.

I'm aware of that. Unfortunately, it still won't work.

I have them working on mine. What I did was find the emoji file I wanted, make three copies of it, name one notocoloremoji, htc_coloremoji, and hkgcsh00d. Copy those three files to system/fonts, and reboot. For some reason I have to make sure the background in keys setting is off, but it works perfectly for me now.
