(WiFi Tethering & Hotspot) T-Mobile Galaxy Note II to PS3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Alright, I have a question.
Is there ANY WAY to tether my GN2 to my PS3(SuperSlim)? I'm running a custom version of CM10.1 and have NO problems sharing my connection with other phones, tablets and laptops through the "Tethering & Hotspot" settings. When I setup and connect to the internet on the PS3 it might connect and be good for like 2mins then it turns to s*** -_-
Please help me or at least tell me its impossible.
Thanks -Dev

+1 I am on the unlimited 4g plan and used to be able to tether with the treve modified tether app and hotspot shield vpn but that hasn't worked for the past few months

The exact same thing with me. I've been looking for a work around. But I just put my son card in my note 1, tether then switch phones. It's a pain. But at least I get to update. I'll let you know if I find something.

Reverse Tethering for samsung epic?

Is there anyway for me to Reverse tether on my samsung epic?
I would like to plug my phone into my computer and use my computer's internet on my phone
I saw that the HTC thunderbolt had that option right when you plug it in and it was called "internet passthrough" where it uses ur PC's internet right on your phone.
Please let me know!

buy an airrave
wifi an option?
Buy a wifi router. Can't see any fun in having your mobile phone needing to be tethered to a stationary device just to use internet.

lol 10 Char.
50MIP connection on a gigabit switch is faster than even wireless n which I don't believe these phones are capiable of anyway. 801g is terribly slow for larger files

Wifi is not an option in my lab at work.
So it woudl be nice to be able to plug my phoen into my PC at work to get internet access on my phone that way.
I only get 1X in the lab as well...so tahts why i'd really like to get reverse tethering.
My coworker in the same lab uses his PC internet on his HTC thunderbolt.
When he plugs his phone into his PC he has additional option of "internet passthrough" which allows his phoen internet access through his computer

I've tried connectify on one of the laptops here. When i turn on the hotspot my phone is able to see it and connects...but doesnt get internet access.
Not really sure what the issue with that is.
Well Wireless N is 150 mbps... that should be plenty...
There is a 3G version, works well..

Don't think the Epic has Wireless-N.. it uses the 2ghz freq, not the 5ghz band.

N can be either 2.4 or 5 ghz -- though the claimed "150 mbps" is usually around 75 mbps actual throughput.
The epic is wifi n I use it constantly and was the biggest reason I bought this phone. was the first phone for sprint with wifi n and bt 3.0
I'm with the poster on this one. There is no wifi at my job so plugging into computer would really help when I'm pretending to work. I see a lot of discussion but nobody has said whether this will or will not be possible

I have not seen anything like that yet. Would be really cool to have for those times you would need it. I'll keep an eye put for you guys though.

Maybe I am dumb, but I just tried Foxfi for about 10 minutes and it worked perfectly. I just used the simple hotspot as I have used before. Can you explain what the problem is?
My phone is stock ICS, not rooted. Thanks

Help. Tmobile Galaxy S3 wifi tether not conecting with ipod.

Hello guys hope any body around here can give any idea how to solve this problem.
I have a root stock samsung galaxy s3 with tmobile with 2 year contract also unlimited data, but i dont want to pay for the wifi tether. my problem is when my daughter wants to connect her 4generation ipod with my phone she cant. i try every app on play store but nothing. What can i do. Also if i found one app that work and she see the wifi when she try to connect it said unable to join network.
Get wifi teather on the app market and go to setting and change the device profile to galaxy nexus gsm and should work fine write back of u got problems
P.s the thanks button dont hurt if u click it

If that device profile doesn't work you can switch around with the generic ics wlan0 and 1, Samsung s3.. switch around until you can see it

Wifi tether in playstore work for me with my Samsung Tab or maybe Samsung S3 and Apple ipod they don't connect each other! lol. jk
Wifi tether creates an "ad hoc" connection. I doubt apple even knows what that is, let alone supports it. You're better off looking for a hack for the movie hot spot app. Gl

[Q] wifi tethering?

Man has anybody figured out how to get wifi teather to work?
4.2.1 rooted stock..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Yes, it's quite simple. Settings, other, tethering, and there you go.
EDIT: sorry, but i don't understand if you don't know where are the settings or if you can't use it because it doesn't work, mine worked out of the box.
Yeh i can connect to the tethering but it wont use my data
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I did some treaks with pimpmyrom.. Gotta wait to get off work to see if it worked
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
What ROM are you using? If its one of the ones in the Development Section, chances are this feature is already good to go without any further tinkering. Most of the devs work this feature into the ROM's. And no its the same data you have when you aren't tethering (that's why carriers are scamming people). My two cents.

Op is allegedly stock, and tethering won't work unless he's on Share Everything or actually pays for tethering.
So OP, pay for tethering, switch to Share Everything, or flash a custom ROM....or root and use Barnacle.

[Q] Internet Tethering

Hi everybody,
I'm planning to buy a Note 10.1 2014 ed the WiFi-only version of course.
I was wondering: is it possible to connect a 3G-Phone (like my Galaxy S2) to the Note using a USB adapter and tether from phone to tablet?
I couldn't find a clear answer on the web..
Tanks a lot.
Yes as long as you have tether setup on your phone. That's the way I do it.

this device support USB OTG but i really don't know if supports wifi tethering via USB because i always use Wifi tethering from phone to tablet
I believe you cannot use Wi-Fi tethering (whether its wireless or USB) unless the host device is rooted.

just to make myself clear, I want to use me phone's 3g internet on my tablet via usb cable. i'm not trying to make an wi-fi hotspot, just use the celloar internet from my phone without drain my battery by turn on wifi hotspot on the phone and connect to it from the tablet.
I know that it can be done from phone to computer via regular usb cable, i'm wondering if it will work same way between phone to tablet.
Thanks again.

Use Foxfi, it works just tried it. I used my phones 4G data over Blue tooth mode and works just fine. I am now able to use my phones 4G connection with my wife version tab. No longer confined to hotspots and home network There is a free version and a payed full version without the byte cap.
I didn't have to use usb tethering. Just connected through blue tooth
